Well met, stranger. I'm hiddenson. I've played different rpgs since the 90's, mostly as GM. I prefer GMing because I love world building and long-term campaigns. I revel in many layered plots that peel like a bag of onions, tuning preset worlds to my signature flavor of horror and hardcore mechanics. My style is deeply immersive, roleplay heavy, and Rule of Cool. I prefer acting in the first person with people who invest creativity in their characters. At the moment, I'd like to focus on horror games and Cyberpunk. I'd love to play other settings of the World of Darkness. I have extensive experience in Call of Cthulhu in the 1920's as well as in Cyberpunk 2020 so I'll adapt to new editions easily. Lastly, I have little to no experience in the other titles, but I'm eager to try them out. I lean into characters hungry for lore rather than riches. Think erudite professors risking their sanity in eldritch tomes, or tomb raiding archaeologists uncovering more than they bargained for. I recently launched a paid Vampire: The Masquerade Chronicle, so I'm willing to trade seats if our playstyles and game list match. Hey, I'm looking for players interested in the rolplaying side over the combat side. I have some experience with dnd as a player, but I have more with GURPS(a truly wonderful system that more people should play)as a GM. I wouldn't call myself a complete expert at either though. I suggested playing D&D to practice our English with a few friends (English is not our first language). So now we have a small group of three friends and a DM playing D&D almost every week to improve our English. As I was the one who came up with the idea, I became the DM and the teacher, teaching them all about D&D. But as the stereotype goes, scheduling is a constant struggle, so I decided to look for another player so the party isn't too weakened when a player can't make it. Alternatively, I'm looking for another group where I can play when our little English practice group can't make it. We met on Telegram, so we run our game calls through that app. After a few sessions using theater of the mind, we decided to use a VTT. We're currently using Owlbear Rodeo, which I find simple and efficient. I've been playing around with most of its plugins and have become very familiar with it. We also use D&D Beyond to manage character sheets. As a DM: I'm still new to DMing, so I think it's too early to determine my style, as I'm still learning and growing. So far, I've found that I focus on fun and pacing. If a rule bogs down the game or bores the players, I'm happy to throw it out of the window. That said, with newer players, I stick to the core rules so everyone builds a solid foundation. But if you know what you're doing and play fair, I'm very open to homebrew ideas. As a Player: Having sat behind the screen, I know how important it is for players to actively engage with the world, bite into plot hooks, talk to NPCs, and read their spells. Hi folks. My name is Frank from germany and I am born in 1978. I started playing TTRPGs in the late 80s/early 90s (don't remember exactly) and had a hiatus between 2008 and 2016. In the early and mid 2000s I participated in the organization for a local convention of the german TTRPG Midgard. Most of my life I was the GM and to be honest I really liked it (probably more than beeing a player). At the moment I play in 2 local monthly goups (no GMing). I am not sure if I have to quit one of the groups I am currently playing in because I really dislike the system we are playing (Warhammer Fantasy 4E) and the group is not willing to change that in the near future. Besides of that I am more than curious to try out online gaming although I never did before. So please be patient with me. Old man incoming ;-) Today I enjoy OSR-games the most (Fantasy, SciFi and all other genres). The simplicity of it is just something I really embrace. I dislike extensive backstories for my PCs. I am convinced that it is more natural to build their personality as I play. I don't need characters that have already achieved everything in their backstories. Besides of that I am a gamer not a novelist ;-) I like my characters to go down in a big blow. They should not die of old age. The most memorable PCs I had are all dead :-) The worst thing that could happen to me as a player is if I recognize that the GM cheats just to safe me from certain death. DON'T DO THAT ;-) As a GM I roll openly and take the results as they roll. I don't balance encounters but I consider myself "fair" in regards of worldbuilding and player choices. I like when players don't optimize and just play without searching the solution on their character sheet. I will kill your character if they make bad choices or if fate demands it. I am not into voice acting or such things and I hate it to waste precious game time on playing out every-day-life of characters. The tavern evening with just talking, the 2 hour shopping tour with the local merchants, the chillout session in the public bath I've seen it all and I hated every single minute of it. Bring on the action, the adventure, thats the reason I play. As you may have noticed english is not my mothertounge. Especially my spoken english is probably not the best. But I think I could manage to be in an english speaking group. At least I would try it. I would love to find a group where I could try out online gaming as a player. I think I would not start online gaming as a GM right away but would love to evolve into that. I really don't care how to play online: VTT, Discord, Teams whatever. I really don't care at this point in time.

Hi! My name is Preston! I am 19 years old. I used to be interested in D&D a couple of years ago, but I never really had the time to play much. Now that I've gotten a bit older and better at managing my time, I've found myself with more room for hobbies, and I'd love to fill some of that time with whimsy, adventure, and fun! I'm open to pretty much any TTRPG! The two systems I've tried so far are Daggerheart and D&D, though I've only played each of them once, so I'm still very much a beginner. I'm hoping to find a casual, beginner-friendly group with a cozy atmosphere where everyone can relax, have fun, and enjoy the game together. My favorite part of TTRPGs is roleplay, especially when it's infused with a healthy dose of silly shenanigans! Combat and exploration are great, too, but I'm mostly here for the characters, the stories, and the ridiculous situations we inevitably find ourselves in. However I do have some boundaries in RP, I am fine with romance and relationship RP, but I will not participate in NSFW RP, fade to black is fine, but nothing explicit. I'm especially interested in trying out Wild Hearth and its homebrew rules! In general, I love experimenting with homebrew systems and unusual character concepts. My characters tend to start as me trying to be all cool, and unique, and yes three sibling halflings named Craok, Croaker, and Croaked pretending to be a half giant monster named the Croaking totally makes sense if you don't think about it! Also the stick on fire IS a wizard, yes, his name is torch. That said, I'm more than happy to stick to the rules as written and play a more vanilla(if unique) character if that's what a group prefers. I understand that homebrew and unconventional characters aren't everyone's cup of tea, and I'm happy to respect whatever fits the table best. At the end of the day, I'm just looking for a cozy group of people to share some laughs, tell some stories, try new things, and hopefully make some friends along the way. I’m an experienced GM, have run multiyear campaigns, and I regularly run games at local conventions. Preferred Systems: Mostly not D&D or similar traditional fantasy games. Recent games include Agon, Unknown Armies, Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green, Mothership, Pendragon, Mythic Bastionland, Alien, Blade Runner, Symbaroum, Starforged, Over the Edge, Swords of the Serpentine, and Paranoia. But I generally enjoy learning new systems Preferred Playstyle: Narrative and investigation are my first choice. I like roleplaying heavy games where choices carry weight and the setting matters: occult conspiracy, espionage, horror, gritty sci-fi, mythic adventure. Combat is fine when it’s brief, tense, and consequential rather than a grind. Character death in earned circumstances is fine. I'm open to romance in games if the table is bought in. I don't need a lot of rules but I care about the rules we agree on being consistent and well understood. I enjoy and run both traditional RPGs and GMless story games. Preferred Tone: Serious stakes with room for humor. Warm, character-driven humor or dark humor works for me; contempt-driven or goofy comedy doesn’t. I prefer a grounded game but pulp is fine as long as we're all on the same page. I’m happy to run a one-shot when the regular GM needs a break.
