Dungeons & Dragons 3.5

We wanted this system in the library before we had time to write it properly, so consider this entry a placeholder. If you've got hours logged with it, we'd love your help turning this into something worth reading - reach out.

Overview

Dungeons & Dragons v.3.5 is a 2003 revision of D&D 3rd Edition, the ruleset Jonathan Tweet, Monte Cook, and Skip Williams designed for Wizards of the Coast in 2000 as the first all-new D&D edition since the company acquired the property from TSR. Rather than a new edition in its own right, 3.5 arrived as a focused patch just three years later - smoothing out rules ambiguities, rebalancing spells and monsters, and expanding the core books.  Though the revision was controversial at the time, with even 3.0 co-designer Monte Cook publicly criticizing its pace and motives. It runs on the d20 System, the Open Game License-based engine 3rd Edition introduced that let third-party publishers legally produce D&D-compatible material for the first time, kicking off the d20 boom of the early 2000s and, eventually, Paizo's

I'm a first-time GM so please bear with me, I am familiar with 3.5 as a player though and would prefer to run the game in this as opposed to 5e. If the group agrees in session 0, I am willing to change to 5e. (I am just as familiar with 5e if not a little less than 3.5) Looking to run a homebrewed setting on an island surrounded by a magical storm conjured by a dragon "king." Will meet on discord for VC/Text chatting during the game, held on roll20 as the VTT. My discord user is: beanureeves (Display name: Beanu Reeves) can elaborate more on the discord and in session 0 (just be sure to message me for the link)

I'm looking for one more player. I have four great players, but one of them doesn't always make it (not his fault), so I'd like one more to keep the group whole when he doesn't show. The game takes place on a recently discovered continent, and largely revolves around exploring it. There's three permanent settlements with fun things going on, stuff on the moon, devils, fure giants,  all sorts of fun. The group is 5th level, so you'll start at 5th level too. Anything from the official 3.5 releases is fine to use (except for Tome of Battle and Savage Species), and there's a few 3rd party books you can use too. The game is on Saturdays at 3pm EST, we use Discord and Owlbear Rodeo, and I have a form fillable PDF character sheet we're using. The idea is that you came to this new land to make a new life for yourself. Why is entirely up to you. I've purposefully left the "old world" as vague as possible so you can come up with pretty much any kind of character you want. All I ask is no royalty. My only real requirement is that you have a decent microphone, and if you have a lot of noise going on around you put yourself on push to talk. I'm kind of deaf and have a hard enough time hearing as it is. Just fill out this form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdTnByZqYY4moS2756YCb8R1y6ldf1ucoMc9FlZ-k6uuWInvw/viewform?usp=header

Hi, I'm Quinn but happy to go by Nifty. I'm a female in my 30s and I'm a beginner in all this. That said, I did play a DnD one shot online and fell in love with character creation and development, the collaboration of a varied team and the narrative work of a DM with imagination. As a player, I tend to be ballsy in my attacks and I play true to my character. I would love to get some gameplay under my belt and get a real grip on things online, but my ultimate goal is to at least try in person IRL and form some friendships. I'm in South western Sydney.  Come find me! I make a compelling player supposedly and I'm super friendly and easy to get along with, even though I can be shy to start.  Thanks for reading!

Hi, I am a chill guy, with a few years' worth of experience in DnD 5e (2014) and PF2e, with some Urban Shadows mixed in. My availability currently is friday evening/saturday morning most consistently, other days are dependant on my schedule for the week. At the table (whether it's online or in person) I like to be a utility player, and assist the DM with whatever they might need, be that scheduling, recruiting, supplying a Virtual Tabletop to play with or whatever else. In the party I like to feel roles as needed, while making sure everyone at the table has their time to shine in the spotlight. Looking forward to playing with you! :)

Actual Play
Thirst of Strahd is a cinematic Dungeons & Dragons actual-play series from Str1ker, presenting a dark, sapphic reimagining of the legendary Curse of Strahdcampaign. Drawn into the mist-shrouded land of Barovia, three adventurers find themselves trapped in a realm of gothic horror, dangerous secrets, restless dead, and a vampire lord whose influence reaches far beyond the walls of Castle Ravenloft. As the party searches for a way forward, every alliance, sacrifice, and decision pulls them deeper into Barovia's mysteries. Blending character-driven roleplay, gothic horror, mystery, emotional storytelling, dark humor, and brutal encounters, Thirst of Strahd approaches tabletop roleplaying like an unfolding dark fantasy series. Its story focuses not only on terrifying monsters and cinematic battles, but also on the relationships, personal struggles, and choices of the characters trying to survive them. New episodes of Thirst of Strahd are released every Wednesday at 8:00 AM Central. Welcome to Barovia. The mists are waiting.

Jim Henson's Labyrinth: The Adventure Game (commonly referred to as The Labyrinth RPG) is a whimsical, rules-light tabletop role-playing game designed by Ben Milton and Jack Caesar, and published by River Horse Games in 2020. Officially licensed and based on the 1986 cult classic musical fantasy film Labyrinth, the system is explicitly engineered to accommodate both veteran role-players and complete beginners. It trades complex simulationist mechanics for streamlined puzzle-solving, theater-of-the-mind exploration, and improvisational narrative problem-solving. Description The Labyrinth RPG drops players directly into the shifting, surreal dreamscape of Jareth the Goblin King’s maze. The overarching premise mirrors the movie: players must navigate the treacherous, puzzle-filled environment to reach the Goblin City and rescue someone or something of immense personal value before the clock strikes thirteen. The game is fundamentally non-violent; conflicts are structured around riddles, social manipulation, environmental obstacles, and trickery rather than traditional weapon combat or health point attrition. The physical book itself functions as a luxury artifact, famously incorporating a hollowed-out spine that contains a set of custom six-sided dice and ribbon bookmarks to facilitate instant play.
