Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (2018)

Overview

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay or Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play (abbreviated to WFRP or WHFRP) is a role-playing game set in the Warhammer Fantasy setting. The fourth edition rooted in the first and second editions was released under licence by Cubicle 7 in 2018. The system it directly evolved from is
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd Edition
Description The primary setting of WFRP is the Empire, a faction located in a region of the "Old World", that is based loosely on the Holy Roman Empire, with a number of baronies, counties and dukedoms fashioned after the fiefs of elector counts and dukes. One of the most identifiable features of the Warhammer setting is Chaos. While the forces of Chaos in Warhammer Fantasy Battle are depicted primarily in the form of bloodthirsty marauders, towering dark knights and savage beastmen, Chaos in WFRP is an insidious force gnawing at the fabric of society. System Overview & Key Features
The Career System Instead of fixed classes, characters enter specific Careers like Boatman, Grave Robber, or Wizard Apprentice. You spend experience points to advance within your career or transition to a related one. This represents your character's actual life and job in the world rather than just their combat role.
Brutal Critical Injuries Hit points are low and do not increase much as you level. When a character is hit while they have no remaining Advantage or are critically struck, the player must roll on gruesome tables. These results range from minor scars to losing an eye, a limb, or your life.
Corruption and Sin Magic is inherently dangerous and tied to the Winds of Chaos. Using magic or encountering dark artifacts can grant Corruption points. If your Corruption exceeds your willpower, you may develop physical mutations or mental instability, eventually turning into a servant of the Dark Gods.
Fate and Resilience Characters have limited pools of Fate and Resilience points. Fate can be spent to avoid certain death, while Resilience allows you to ignore the effects of a mutation or a critical hit. These are rare and precious resources that represent the character's sheer stubbornness to stay alive in a doomed world.

Hello all. I am Tyler (he/him) (under 18) (AEST) and I have 4 years of experience as a player and GM. I would love to find new games to join as a player. I am someone that enjoys playing character driven and story based game. I'm not really a megadungeon kind of guy. But I do enjoy some combat. Let's say 50:50 RP: combat ratio with it being ok if the roleplay is higher up to 100:0 I am looking for an online weekly table that does something like if a game gets cancelled, they play a one shot or online game instead or something like that, I don't care what, I just want to do something else if game night doesn't go to plan. I am fine with games during my nighttime as well as during the day, you just got to tell me the schedule first to see if I can make it. I am generally unavailable Saturday and Sunday day and Saturday night my time Even though my most played game is DnD, I enjoy playing other systems like Alien the roleplaying Game, Pathfinder and others. I am always down to learn a new game. If you made it this far, I hope I have left a good impression. My favourite video game at the moment is Baldur's Gate 3, My favourite books are Brandon Sanderson Cosmere and my dream job is to be a video game programmer.

Hi there,  I am looking for a pen and paper group meeting around Antwerp or Mechelen in person on weekday evenings. As my Dutch is not very good, I would appreciate an English speaking round. Playstyle: immersion and fun at the table for everyone are key for me Let me know if you have a free seat or want to found a new group. Cheers, Martin

Hello, I've been playing TTRPGs on and off for about 10 years now. Played with different systems and on different platforms over the years (mostly Pathfinder 2e recently). Don't have a favorite system but hoping to play and learn AD&D, willing to learn and try new games (have a preference for fantasy settings). Timezone is CET and should be free on almost everyday of the week in the evening. Thanks.

Hi, there! Welcome to The RPG Gazette, I hope you made yourself cozy! We are Yuno & Șerban, the co-founders of this project. We came up with this idea after perhaps too many early sangrias on some Spanish beach close to two years ago, when we decided that we want to do more for promoting and nurturing the broader TTRPG community. Thus, we decided we will not write that much about D&D, instead focusing on showcasing other TTRPGs, through reviews, news and essays, some of them structured more like opinion pieces and some of them more academic in nature. Rollful

English

Dice roller
Rollful is a hosted dice-rolling API. It rolls dice over HTTP: a request carries a formula, and Rollful parses it, rolls each die through a cryptographically secure generator, and returns every die it rolled rather than only the total. It is not tied to any game system. It knows what 4d6kh3 means and nothing about what the caller uses it for, so it suits a virtual tabletop, a character sheet, a Discord bot, or anything else that needs a roll it can show the working for. The formula grammar covers flat modifiers, advantage and disadvantage, keeping the highest or lowest dice, exploding and penetrating dice, multipliers, several terms in one roll, and tags. The response lists every die with a flag saying which ones counted, so an interface can show the die a keep rule dropped instead of hiding it. A GET request handles a plain formula. POST adds bonuses and tags, and a batch endpoint takes up to 20 rolls in one request. Every response and error has the same documented shape, described by an OpenAPI 3.1 document. There is no account and no API key. Usage is rate limited rather than metered. The homepage carries a form for rolling dice straight from the browser. Rollful is powered by the OpenDice npm package, which is free to use directly in any JavaScript or TypeScript project.

Sci-fi
Eclipse Phase is a detailed science-fiction exploration of uncertain futures. It investigates the nature of transhumanity as it transforms itself, physically and mentally, into something posthuman. It balances the immense dangers of advanced technologies with a vision of how we can negate these risks and enhance our capabilities to improve and prosper as a species. Description Transhumanity stands on the terminus of evolution and extinction. With the ability to upload our minds and nanofabricate almost anything, death and scarcity were nearly defeated. Then a war against super-intelligent AIs infected with an alien virus wiped out 95% of the population. Earth is a ruined wasteland, overrun by machines. The remnants of transhumanity—bio-engineered humans, uplifted animals, and infolife—expanded throughout the Solar System. The AIs left behind a network of wormhole gates that we now use to explore and occupy distant exoplanets. A new cabal of hypercorps and oligarchs seek to preserve outmoded political and economic systems, while patchwork factions of radical scientists and techno-anarchists experiment with new social models, from each according to their imagination and to each according to their need. /images/general-media/1779972799_ox7h9OdI.jpg Characters switch their bodies—called a morphs—at will. Choose from genetically-modified transhumans, synthetic robotic shells, uplifted animals, or digital infomorphs, optimizing your capabilities for specific missions. Your character’s mind and memories are backed up and can be restored if you die—a built-in system of “save points” and functional immortality. Characters are skill-based, with no classes, so players can customize their team roles and specialize in fields of their choosing. A package-buy system enables quick character creation and customization while also defining elements of your character’s background. Gear and morph tracking is simplified with the use of gear packs and points for each mission.
