Hello, there! I am a veteran player (38-years-old) who switched to D&D 5.5 ever since its release and has played sessions weekly (even multiple times a week). My window of availability is between 6 AM and 11:30 AM, and between 2 PM and 10:30 PM, CET times. I like exploration and all kinds of discoveries. I enjoy RP the most when it furthers the characters, the campaign's story or both. I like combat especially when it mixes in interesting mechanics and objectives, and when I can be creative in my descriptions and my actions. I love overcoming challenges, whatever form they take, through teamwork and preparation. I like believable character actions, because I value immersion a lot, which is why I generally prefer a serious tone over a silly one. Jokes are more than fine, but I much prefer it when they don't undercut tense and emotional moments. As a player, I'm committed, invested in the story and a note-taker, I gravitate the most towards themes related to morality, knowledge/lore and creativity/art, I take my time to gather information and strategize, and I'm good-aligned pretty much always. I never come into a campaign with a clear idea on what character to play, as I very much enjoy trying to weave species, class, concept and backstory with the campaign's world, letting the latter inspire character creation itself. So I tend to ask some questions after I join a new game, to get a better idea and then decide, with an eye on party composition as well. As a person, I'm a big believer in fairness, I'm as anti-toxicity as it gets, and I'm respectful, inclusive, punctual and communicative.

Hi folks. My name is Frank from germany and I am born in 1978. I started playing TTRPGs in the late 80s/early 90s (don't remember exactly) and had a hiatus between 2008 and 2016. In the early and mid 2000s I participated in the organization for a local convention of the german TTRPG Midgard. Most of my life I was the GM and to be honest I really liked it (probably more than beeing a player). At the moment I play in 2 local monthly goups (no GMing). I am not sure if I have to quit one of the groups I am currently playing in because I really dislike the system we are playing (Warhammer Fantasy 4E) and the group is not willing to change that in the near future. Besides of that I am more than curious to try out online gaming although I never did before. So please be patient with me. Old man incoming ;-) Today I enjoy OSR-games the most (Fantasy, SciFi and all other genres). The simplicity of it is just something I really embrace. I dislike extensive backstories for my PCs. I am convinced that it is more natural to build their personality as I play. I don't need characters that have already achieved everything in their backstories. Besides of that I am a gamer not a novelist ;-) I like my characters to go down in a big blow. They should not die of old age. The most memorable PCs I had are all dead :-) The worst thing that could happen to me as a player is if I recognize that the GM cheats just to safe me from certain death. DON'T DO THAT ;-) As a GM I roll openly and take the results as they roll. I don't balance encounters but I consider myself "fair" in regards of worldbuilding and player choices. I like when players don't optimize and just play without searching the solution on their character sheet. I will kill your character if they make bad choices or if fate demands it. I am not into voice acting or such things and I hate it to waste precious game time on playing out every-day-life of characters. The tavern evening with just talking, the 2 hour shopping tour with the local merchants, the chillout session in the public bath I've seen it all and I hated every single minute of it. Bring on the action, the adventure, thats the reason I play. As you may have noticed english is not my mothertounge. Especially my spoken english is probably not the best. But I think I could manage to be in an english speaking group. At least I would try it. I would love to find a group where I could try out online gaming as a player. I think I would not start online gaming as a GM right away but would love to evolve into that. I really don't care how to play online: VTT, Discord, Teams whatever. I really don't care at this point in time.

Hi everyone! I’m Matt, 34 years old, and I’ve been looking to join an ongoing campaign or start a new one, both are fine. I’m a big Critical Role fan, so I would have liked to play in an Exandria setting, whether its a Tal’dorei campaign or the Wildemount d&d guidebook, but it isn’t exclusive, I’m fine playing in any setting. I've been wanting to get into a D&D group for some time now, as I've had on-and-off games that never really went anywhere long-term. D&D 5e is the one I have the most hours (500+) and experience in and am the most confident in playing, while I'm very much wanting to learn Fabula Ultima, so any chance opportunity to do so would be greatly appreciated and heartily accepted! I'm also very much new but willing to learn Pathfinder 2e, as well as any homebrew system based off it, or any of the previously mentioned for that matter. For themes and genres I'm okay with? Pretty much anything and everything, with almost nothing off the table; from cozy slice-of-life and goofy roleplay to genuinely dark, disturbing, and emotionally brutal themes, I'm game for anything... within reason, of course. As for overall preferences? I very much want to roleplay, immersing myself entirely into the character I bring to the table and the world they're a part of, as well as being able to engage with my fellow players as that character more than speaking above table as myself. I'd much rather play a character with a strong concept, personality, or aesthetic, as I'm not entirely fond of needing to min-max my way through the adventure. The only thing I'd directly ask of my fellow players and DM is to be patient with me, as I can be a little slow on the uptake thanks to mild autism, a bit loud/rowdy when I get excited or happy, a bit grumpy when inconveniences pile up, and I ask a lot of questions about things I'm unsure of. I’m looking for a group that values character growth, secrets, and a bit of "chaos" in the party dynamic. I have a few character concepts ready to go, ranging from tragic to high-energy: Option 1: The "Blessed" Orphan (Warlock) The Hook: Sold to a temple as a child, he spent years desperately praying for a god to choose him. When a voice finally answered, he assumed it was divine. In reality, it’s a Patron playing a long game. The Twist: He views his Patron as his only true friend and protector. He is completely blind to their dark influence, even when he’s caught talking to himself or carrying out "favors" that don't quite seem holy. He has a fractured mind and a heart of gold—a dangerous combination. Option 2: The Mercenary Cleric. The Hook: A Cleric who finished his training but realized prayers don't pay the bills. He’s obsessed with gold—not just for greed, but because he’s searching for something (his past, a home, a legacy) and believes money is the only way to buy answers. The Vibe: He’ll keep you alive, but he might send you an invoice afterward. Option 3: The High-Fashion Arcanist (Sorcerer) The Hook: A "cunty" sorcerer who knows he’s the most powerful person in the room—he just doesn't know why. He’s on a quest to find his origins, mostly because he’s annoyed that his magic is more talented than he is. What I Bring to the Table: I’m in my 30s; and unable to find a group to meet in person *cries alone in the dark...*. So finding a group online to meet regularly will be awesome. Ideally, people 30+ will be great (I don't discriminate the twenties but I started to find myself more connected with people around my age who have been geeks since the times of Slayers or Inu Yasha). I love deep-diving into backstories and interacting with the world the DM builds. Even when playing "difficult" characters (like the gold-obsessed Cleric), I make sure it adds to the fun for everyone, not ruins the game. I am a ttrpg player of 6 years. Mostly in dnd, but I have experience playing PF2E, Fabula Ultima and Thirsty Sword Lesbians. Additionally I have read up a bit on most if not all of the systems I'm interested in! I enjoy finding a specific vibe for my characters, like a fighting style, a specific backstory, an aesthetic etc. I then push a system to fulfil that vibe to it's fullest, committing entirely to that bit, even to the character's detriment at times. I am also an avid heroforge user and deeply enjoy making heroforge models of all the pcs! When actually playing I try my best to use my character not just to their own end, but also to try my best within my characters personality, to empower other players. My fatal flaw is definitely my attention span, I am distracted very easiily, something I have been working to mitigate for a while, but that I'm not sure I'll ever fully ditch. I am looking for a Saturday game that starts no later than 12am GMT (yes I know thats technically thursday xD). I also have little preference for the system.

I suggested playing D&D to practice our English with a few friends (English is not our first language). So now we have a small group of three friends and a DM playing D&D almost every week to improve our English. As I was the one who came up with the idea, I became the DM and the teacher, teaching them all about D&D. But as the stereotype goes, scheduling is a constant struggle, so I decided to look for another player so the party isn't too weakened when a player can't make it. Alternatively, I'm looking for another group where I can play when our little English practice group can't make it. We met on Telegram, so we run our game calls through that app. After a few sessions using theater of the mind, we decided to use a VTT. We're currently using Owlbear Rodeo, which I find simple and efficient. I've been playing around with most of its plugins and have become very familiar with it. We also use D&D Beyond to manage character sheets. As a DM: I'm still new to DMing, so I think it's too early to determine my style, as I'm still learning and growing. So far, I've found that I focus on fun and pacing. If a rule bogs down the game or bores the players, I'm happy to throw it out of the window. That said, with newer players, I stick to the core rules so everyone builds a solid foundation. But if you know what you're doing and play fair, I'm very open to homebrew ideas. As a Player: Having sat behind the screen, I know how important it is for players to actively engage with the world, bite into plot hooks, talk to NPCs, and read their spells. I've started playing a 5.5E game at my local game store, but I'd love to add another regular game, preferably one that is at least 50% combat.
