Born to a minor noble family, Dante chose the road over a settled life and became a wandering bard, storyteller, and occasional adventurer. Years of travel taught him that people are rarely as simple as the stories told about them. He prefers wit, diplomacy, and curiosity before violence, but he will step in when others are in danger. He keeps parts of his past deliberately private and usually introduces himself simply as Dante.
Warm, curious, theatrical, and difficult to embarrass. Treats nobles and commoners alike, asks inconvenient questions, collects songs and stories wherever he travels, and grows restless if he stays in one place too long. He can be playful and shameless on stage, but offstage he is a gentleman. Prefers talking his way out of trouble, though trouble has an irritating habit of following him anyway.
