Hey, I'm looking for players interested in the rolplaying side over the combat side. I have some experience with dnd as a player, but I have more with GURPS(a truly wonderful system that more people should play)as a GM. I wouldn't call myself a complete expert at either though. I am happy try out any system. I will GM, but do note that I don't have a real style yet other than focusing on roleplay and to a lesser extent exploration over combat so combat design is also not something I've got the hang of yet. In terms of genres, I will play anything, but steampunk and early modern games have a special place in my heart. As for tone, I'm happy with anything from 100% serious to 70-30 serious to silly split. I am happy to do a 1-1 game or a larger party, and I can do play-by-post or voice, whatever you prefer/can do. I am looking for a weekend game, preferably not evening.

I suggested playing D&D to practice our English with a few friends (English is not our first language). So now we have a small group of three friends and a DM playing D&D almost every week to improve our English. As I was the one who came up with the idea, I became the DM and the teacher, teaching them all about D&D. But as the stereotype goes, scheduling is a constant struggle, so I decided to look for another player so the party isn't too weakened when a player can't make it. Alternatively, I'm looking for another group where I can play when our little English practice group can't make it. We met on Telegram, so we run our game calls through that app. After a few sessions using theater of the mind, we decided to use a VTT. We're currently using Owlbear Rodeo, which I find simple and efficient. I've been playing around with most of its plugins and have become very familiar with it. We also use D&D Beyond to manage character sheets. As a DM: I'm still new to DMing, so I think it's too early to determine my style, as I'm still learning and growing. So far, I've found that I focus on fun and pacing. If a rule bogs down the game or bores the players, I'm happy to throw it out of the window. That said, with newer players, I stick to the core rules so everyone builds a solid foundation. But if you know what you're doing and play fair, I'm very open to homebrew ideas. As a Player: Having sat behind the screen, I know how important it is for players to actively engage with the world, bite into plot hooks, talk to NPCs, and read their spells. I enjoy character-driven games with party relationships, meaningful combat, exploration, mystery, downtime, and earned emotional moments. Ideal balance: about 40% roleplay, 20% combat, 40% exploration. I like sincere games with humor, but not constant bits, edgelord behavior, or main character syndrome. I fit best with players who share spotlight, cooperate, respect boundaries, and care about everyone’s character mattering. Consent and safety are important to me. Heavy themes, PvP, romance/flirting, sexual content, intense character conflict, or major effects on another PC should be discussed first. Lines and veils should be respected. Now that I've gotten a bit older and better at managing my time, I've found myself with more room for hobbies, and I'd love to fill some of that time with whimsy, adventure, and fun! I'm open to pretty much any TTRPG! The two systems I've tried so far are Daggerheart and D&D, though I've only played each of them once, so I'm still very much a beginner. My favorite part of TTRPGs is roleplay, especially when it's infused with a healthy dose of silly shenanigans! However I do have some boundaries in RP, I am fine with romance and relationship RP, but I will not participate in NSFW RP, fade to black is fine, but nothing explicit. I'm especially interested in trying out Wild Hearth and its homebrew rules! In general, I love experimenting with homebrew systems and unusual character concepts. My characters tend to start as me trying to be all cool, and unique, and yes three sibling halflings named Craok, Croaker, and Croaked pretending to be a half giant monster named the Croaking totally makes sense if you don't think about it! Also the stick on fire IS a wizard, yes, his name is torch. That said, I'm more than happy to stick to the rules as written and play a more vanilla(if unique) character if that's what a group prefers. I understand that homebrew and unconventional characters aren't everyone's cup of tea, and I'm happy to respect whatever fits the table best. I'm a 35 year old Englishman lost in Scotland, a graduate and professional aspiring amateur-to-professional games-master on the side. Seems like the perfect side-hustle, making magic happen. I've always wanted to give it a try, and thus the second launch this project now. I've been aware of RPG's since my early teens, being vaguely introduced to it by almost every western animated cartoon referencing it in at least one episode. I took the plunge at university, and I've been hooked and rolling dice ever since. I've been in-and-out playing table-top RPG's for just under 20 years now, including DM'ing, serious player rolelay, LARP'ing, you name it. I have *some* Roll20 experience, I would estimate about just under 100 or so hours on a previous account before the new account and rebranding! I've tried to dabble where I can, but primarily my experience is with D&D 3.5, 4th edition, 5th, 5.5e, Pathfinder 1st edition, as well as a handful of other systems briefly. Tabletop RPG's to me, is the top-tier of entertainment and best way to spend some time sitting around with old and new friends, sipping nice drinks, eating snacks, and sharing awesome stories -- that's a good life. Old-school person-to-person socializing, chatting, communities -- that's what it's about. It makes for a quality team-building and problem-solving experience. I've played and also run - forum play-by-post, live-chat typing sessions, in-person tabletop dice-rolling, voice and video sessions and tourist-themed games. As far as theme and styling and tone - I usually enjoy lighter games, with darker discoveries and undertones, I'm mostly influenced by the Fable and Baldur's Gate series. Because of my full-time work and so I can affort to spend time elsewhere with other loved-ones, I can only ever confirm for one-shot, one-time events. My lifestyle doesn't support ongoing campaigns, though I am very supportive and envious of those who do get to enjoy long-form! As a player, I don't mind what system we play, who we're with or what character I play, I can usually come up with something. I usually like to fill and round out a party composition. The joy of the play is the most important thing, and it's important to keep practicing, stretching and improving! As a DM, I mostly very much enjoy introducing the game to newer players. There are a lot of very experienced gamers out there with the opportunity and community in order to play, but I tend to find that there are many many people out there who would love to try D&D because of their favorite shows (Stranger Things and Critical Role, especially), but don't know who to turn to or where to start: Sometimes, it's just nice to be given a good start and a good introduction into the hobby, and to be guided through the sometimes intimidating Player's Handbook! Hello! I'm Mia, player/GM with about 5-years experience though a variety of different games and systems. I play frequently with friend groups online, and I'm looking to expand into a wider community and find new stories to play in! Building worlds with my table is always my biggest joy - I love to work with other players to find character development and interesting ways to interact and encourage each other. My characters are usually influenced by other media (Final Fantasy, robot fiction, gaming hyperfixations) - playing with my toys and dissecting what makes them tick and rebuilding them as something new. As a GM, I tend to lean to pre-established settings and lore books for inspiration, though I have also put plenty of work into creating my own campaign settings. I typically play with mid-high fantasy, sci-fi, or even historical settings on occassion.

I tend to be generous with loot, but I’m actively working on balancing rewards and challenge. I have a solid amount of experience with D&D 3.5 and 5e, and I’m familiar with GURPS. I’m also designing my own antiessentialist, leveled point-buy system called UNBOUND, which has given me a deeper understanding of mechanics, balance, and encounter design. I have been playing D&D on and off for about 5 years and have even DMed a few one-shots. I am semi-familiar with the rules and how it is played, and miss playing. I look for a good mix of roleplay, exploration, and combat in the games I play; and I appreciate a fair DM who is gracious and relaxed.

I prefer to focus on roleplay, but I definitely love a good battle on a pretty map on a battle grid, and like to let players shine with the cool abilities they build into their characters. I have decades of experience at this point. I've had every kind of group you can think of, from little kids to passionate roleplayers to awkward nerds. We play at our local game store, on Mondays. We play from 6:00-9:00 PM.
