Threshhold: Chapter 4

It's a modern-day D&D campaign largely using 5e/Homebrew game mechanics. A deck of crystal cards suddenly appeared on Earth and give their holders Avatar forms and class abilities. The character dynamic is pretty in depth, I'm essentially running a dating sim, slice of life, along side Dungeons and Dragons. Must be willing to use Discord for chat and DnD Beyond "Maps". We keep everything classy *pinky up*, however this is definitly for 21+ age group if only for comprehension skills. I've taught all 3 of my permanent players as well as integrated and disintegrated many players with varying TTRPG experience. I am a character killer DM, I am also a very good story teller and have SO MUCH MATERIAL. I've read a lot of the Drizzt series and tend reference things (names, items, and places) -- Also a huge Final Fantasy fan. This game will go on regardless of weither everyone joins or no one joins, I'd love to have a few new people though.      A Drow civilization from a magical inner world has discovered Earth, and we're currently trying to stop an invasion. The party just crossed into the Underdark on the way to Agartha. At first, the story was relatively small. A handful of people discovered cards, learned what they could do, trained together, dealt with other Cardholders, and tried to understand why these things had suddenly appeared.      Then everything went to hell. Giant spiders invaded Amherst. The attacks eventually became large enough that the military was fighting openly in the streets, civilians were being evacuated, and the existence of impossible creatures could no longer be completely hidden from the public. The party discovered that the spiders were connected to the Drow, and that Earth isn't the only world humanity needs to worry about. Beneath our world exists Agartha, an enormous magical inner world filled with the races, monsters, civilizations, and magic you'd normally associate with a fantasy setting. Separating Earth from that world is a single passage called the Threshold. And someone on the other side found it. One of the Five Great Drow Houses of Menzoberranzan discovered Earth, creating the possibility of an invasion against a planet that has virtually no natural defenses against magic. Then the Guardian Force cards appeared. A powerful being called Alexander discovered what was happening and cast the Deck through the Threshold, essentially throwing magical weapons into humanity's hands and hoping the people chosen by them could become strong enough to defend Earth. Things escalated again when a cult on Earth summoned a powerful Drow Priestess from another Great House. She killed the holder of the Odin GF card, took Odin for herself, and attacked Amherst alongside a massive spider horde. The party, other Cardholders, Alexander, and the military eventually brought her down. But defeating her exposed a much bigger problem. Alexander recognized her markings. She wasn't from the House already preparing to invade Earth. That means knowledge of Earth may be spreading among the Drow Houses, and if all five learn that an essentially nonmagical world exists beyond the Threshold, Earth could become the prize in a race between them. That's where the campaign is now, nearing the end of chapter 4. The party has crossed the Threshold and entered the Underdark with Alexander. Their goal is to survive a roughly five-day journey around Menzoberranzan, reach the surface of Agartha, and help Alexander find six legendary heroes powerful enough to stand against what may be coming. Meanwhile, other Cardholders remain on Earth, protecting people, recovering GF cards, finding new Cardholders, and preparing humanity for another attack. So new characters have several natural ways to enter the story. You could be an existing Cardholder we've never met, someone who recently discovered a GF card, someone the Earth team recruits, or potentially someone we encounter in Agartha itself.

You can expect to die. But hilariously.

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
A D&D 5e One-Shot About Making Bad Decisions in the Face of Certain Death The premise is simple: You are going to face something you cannot defeat. Not probably can’t defeat. Not might be able to defeat. You are completely and spectacularly outmatched. This one-shot is inspired by Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill! and is designed around the idea of throwing the party into an absolutely hopeless situation and seeing what happens. ⚔️ This is NOT a traditional heroic adventure. There is no expectation that the party will defeat the final threat. There may not even be a realistic way to survive. Instead, the goal is to create a fun, memorable, ridiculous, and occasionally heroic last stand where your decisions determine how your character faces the inevitable. Maybe you run. Maybe you fight. Maybe you come up with an absolutely insane plan. Maybe you spend your final moments arguing with the rest of the party about whose fault this was. Whatever happens, the goal is to have a great time. 🎲 About the DM I’ve been DMing for 2+ years and have experience running games through Discord and Owlbear. I’m also new-player friendly. You don’t need years of D&D experience to join. I’ll help explain rules and get you comfortable with the game as we go. 🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ+ friendly The table is intended to be welcoming and respectful to everyone. Come ready to have fun, make questionable decisions, and embrace the chaos. ⚠️ Important Player Expectation Character death is not only possible, it is expected. This adventure is specifically built around an overwhelming threat and the possibility of certain death. Please don’t bring a character you’ve spent months developing if permanent character death would ruin the experience for you. Bring a character you’re excited to play, roll some dice, make some memories, and see how long you can keep the inevitable at bay.

grounded: the helix organizations mistakes

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
The Helix Initiative was introduced to the public as a revolutionary leap in environmental adaptation, biological medicine, and survival science. Officially, the organization claimed it was developing new ways for humanity to survive ecological collapse, disease, and resource shortages. Behind closed doors, however, Helix operated hidden research divisions dedicated to experimentation far beyond legal or ethical limits. Somewhere deep within those divisions, a scientist identified in surviving records only as Dr. W██d████ T████ developed a machine capable of shrinking living organisms to less than an inch tall. The technology was presented internally as a breakthrough in resource efficiency and medical research—but many of the subjects brought into testing were children between the ages of eight and sixteen. Most never returned. You are one of the survivors. After undergoing the procedure, you awaken inside an ordinary city park that has become an impossible wilderness at your scale. Blades of grass tower like trees. Puddles become lakes capable of drowning entire groups. Ants patrol the dirt like armored soldiers, while spiders transform sections of the park into web-choked death zones. Every inch of terrain matters. Every storm is catastrophic. Survival depends on learning how to weaponize the environment itself—crafting tools and defenses from thorns, sap, insect shells, broken plastic, roots, and scavenged debris left behind by previous miniature civilizations that clearly did not survive for long. As you explore deeper into the park, you begin discovering abandoned outposts, collapsed shelters, and fragmented Helix logs detailing increasingly unstable experiments. The records reference attempts to create “evolutions chosen suvivors” capable of evolving beyond normal biological limits. Again and again, one phrase appears alongside heavily censored personnel files: MARROW SYNDROME. The disease slowly destroys the body in stages—first decaying bone tissue, then muscle structure, and finally flooding the lungs with blood. Somewhere among the corrupted files are hints that Dr. W██d████ T████ never joined Helix out of loyalty. Some logs imply he infiltrated the organization to expose its corruption, free the surviving test subjects, and continue researching a cure for a terminally ill child connected to the syndrome. Whether those rumors are true remains uncertain. Helix officially denies the existence of both the disease and the scientist. Not every strange thing in the park comes from Helix laboratories. Survivors occasionally encounter a bizarre figure known only as Rock—a hyper-muscular talking bee obsessed with shouting “MUSCLE” at every possible opportunity. Most groups dismiss him as insane until they realize he understands far more about the park than he should. One moment he acts like a reckless coach forcing terrified children to become stronger, and the next he casually references erased facilities, failed experiments, or “previous attempts” that nobody else remembers. Near the edges of abandoned Helix sectors, Rock sometimes becomes unusually quiet, staring into empty space before muttering warnings that sound less like jokes and more like genuine fear. HE IS WATCHING YOUR EVERY MOVE...

Adventures in the Forgotten Realms

Hello! We're a group of 5 players currently seeking a dm to run a long term campaign in the Forgotten Realms! We already have a few character ideas, we just need someone to take us on our journey. We have just a few requirements: Please be over 18! No bigots, we are a queer friendly space. We have a few homebrew races/subclasses we wanted to make, so if you're willing to work with us on some homebrew/maybe house rules as needed, that'd be great. We want to get to at least level 17 at some point, so please be in it for the long haul!

Selection of dnd one-shots and shorties

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
Hi I'm Alice, I'm 29 and I'm looking to get back into DMing. I've linked up with a player already who's asked I create a thingy on here so we can find more players!  I'm looking to run some beginner friendly one-shots and maybe a shorter mini campaign like Sunless Citadel. We'll be using the D&D5e 2014 rules, I can provide access to a bunch of the books if required, but I don't have a DNDbeyond account or anything like that for sharing. No previous experience particularly required, just ask that you're open to trying new things. I prefer one-shots and dungeon crawls as my play style, so do be aware this isn't one of those situations where a oneshot is an interview into a campaign.  LGBTQ+ players preferred/prioritised, and players must be 21+. Not for any weird content reasons, just because that's how old we are roughly.  We'd be looking to play GMT/BST evenings midweek starting about 7pm, or Saturday afternoons/evening.

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
The player starts off in a forest. After ringing a bell they get transported to a different dimension where a ghost traps them. The ghost forces them to sign a contract to do odd jobs for him and now the party is forced to fight for their freedom. I wont go too much further into the story to keep it a suprise but just know that the story ramps up pretty fast and there is a big adventure to be had.:) Pretty leaning into the roleplay, we have combat of course but the campaign is more story and lore focused so yappers are welcome. What I expect is for you to be able to reliably show up every Friday. Other than that you can be yourself and have fun. I am all for player freedom and try my best to make sure everyone has fun. The world is fully homebrewed and made by me.

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hollows of Iparea [Text-based] Pitch: You have arrived on a dying planet with no recollection of how you got there. Something is terribly wrong, that much is certain, and worse yet, the planet itself appears to be living. Thralls of an unintelligible hive mind are the only remnants of intelligent life to be seen, and you see echoes of past civilizations in abandon everywhere around you. Your crashed vessel and memories offer no help, and whatever happened here, your survival may depend on a species you cannot understand. System: 5e legacy Tools: Discord, Owlbear Rodeo (VTT). This is a text campaign, you do not need a mic. D&DBeyond sheets are preferred but any others are allowed. Schedule: Fridays, 5 PM - 7 PM EST. Seats: 6 Expectations Game: Players of all experience levels are allowed, but I ask that beginners have a basic understanding of the game's mechanics and know how to create a character beforehand. My DMs are always open for any questions, comments, or concerns about the game. I ask that players don't use AI for responses or for character art. Flying races and Warforged (they don't exist in the setting) are banned. Rudimentary firearms are a thing, and gunslingers are allowed, but modern firearms and technology do not exist. Homebrew is not allowed for classes, and any other homebrew must be run by me. UA and official WotC material is, of course, allowed. 18+ is preferred, and this game is strictly 16+. Characters start at 5th level. Themes: In a nutshell: semi-sci-fi, high fantasy/cosmic horror. This game's overall themes revolve around memory, identity, and isolation. This game also involves elements of survival horror, and resources will be tracked (and scarce). Tone: Overall surreal, bleak, and atmospheric. Safety Tools: TTRPG Safety Checklist & pre-game interview. You can reach out to me at @paws4reason on Discord.

Rebuild a ruined frontier fortress

You're Knights of the Keystone, an old martial order sent where the realm is failing to make it hold. You've just been assigned to the House of Ulgrath: a crumbling chapterhouse on a frontier mostly forgotten by the Order. The roads aren't safe, the walls are failing, the villages are emptying out, and there's a shrine in the cellars nobody wants to explain. Your orders: restore the House, secure the roads, protect the settlements, push outward. How you do it is up to you. What this game is: Human Fighters, Clerics, and Paladins only, starting at level 3. Everyone is a Knight of the same Order. We start as a party, not four strangers in a tavern. Sessions are for the road, the ruins, and whatever lives in them. Exploration, dungeon crawls, tactical fights, and dealing with people who don't trust you yet. The rebuilding happens between sessions, not at the table. Each Knight declares what they're working on, and it shows up on the map. Nobody rolls to repair a road. Gold buys bridges and militia, not just +1 swords. A world that changes. Succeed and a settlement grows outside your walls. Fail and the map gets smaller. Bastion rules once the House is worth calling one. Emergent story, not a plot. I prep situations, factions, and secrets. You decide what happens. A dangerous world with real villains. Not everything is level-appropriate. Sometimes the monster is just a monster. Tone: PG-13. Violence and hard choices, not gore or cruelty for its own sake. We'll do lines and veils at Session Zero, and anything you want off the table stays off it. Looking for: friendly, reliable adults who like exploration, problem-solving, dungeon crawls, tactical decisions, and building something over time. Newer players welcome. Roll20 for maps, Discord for voice/video. Player's Guide (premise, the Order, the Code, character creation, region map): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1loxz6RIv8w1rK4emOIxHOCAECyI8nmgZC8SyILwHhu0/edit?usp=sharing If this sounds like your kind of table, DM me with a bit about yourself, your RPG experience, and what part of the premise grabbed you. I'll set up a short Discord chat with anyone who seems like a fit before sending server invites. Bring a sword. And a shovel.

This campaign is exploring the magic in politics behind dragons when they are the majority. Ancient history revolving around dragons why some retained sentience and others become wild beasts. While others use their magical and biological material to enhance themselves. The gods are here but they're insignificant for some odd reason.

D&D 5e | Every Other Monday | 7:00 PM CST | Owlbear Rodeo | D&D Beyond The world is old, wounded, and full of things people were never meant to understand. In The Sundered Coil, you will step into a dark fantasy campaign of ancient powers, dangerous relics, political tension, strange dreams, and a world struggling to survive after a catastrophe no one fully understands. This is a campaign for players who enjoy: Deep worldbuilding Roleplay and meaningful choices Mystery, exploration, and faction intrigue Dangerous magic and ancient secrets Dragons, broken myths, and strange supernatural forces Heroic adventure in a world that does not always make heroism easy You do not need to know the setting ahead of time. New and experienced players are welcome. Bring a character who has a reason to care, a reason to survive, and maybe one secret they are not ready to share yet. Game Details System: Dungeons & Dragons 5e Schedule: Every other Monday Time: 7:00 PM CST VTT: Owlbear Rodeo Character Sheets: D&D Beyond Tone: Dark fantasy, mystery, adventure, roleplay, combat, and exploration Players Wanted: New and experienced players welcome Campaign Vibe Expect a story where your choices matter, allies may disagree, enemies may have reasons, and the world reacts to what the party does. This is not a “show up and follow the railroad” campaign. Characters will have room to grow, make hard calls, uncover hidden truths, and become part of the world’s unfolding history. > The world still needs heroes. Whether it deserves them is another question.

Where Land Breaks

Welcome! This is my homebrew campaign using the ryoko's guide setting!  Some key notes, to save us all some time: This campaign has limited races to choose from, being only humans and the ones from ryoko's guide. We will be exploring many difficult topics over the course of this campaign, but I do not want real world issues at my table. The hook of this campaign is that the player has been offered a gift, a deep and personal desire by a spirit of the kaiju, for unknown reasons. These cases aren't unheard of and are actually growing in number.  The player has the choice to say yes or no, other than that I would love to discuss further on my discord @kaybold_

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hi all! I am looking to flesh out a setting of mine and would like to run a mini-campaign. The plan is for it to be biweekly with a total of 8 sessions, 3 hours each. My timezone is EST. Session would begin at 6pm EST the earliest, as I work a 9 to 5. I prefer story-heavy gaming experiences, but plan for this have a balance of combat and roleplay. The setting is my homebrew world of Serene, where the gods split the universe into two halves: the material realm, and the spirit realm. The spirit realm holds strong magic, powerful beings, and impossibly large worlds within its borders. "Recipes for chaos", says Saevel Vendove, one of the realm's greatest elven mages. Determined to bring some semblance of order to the spirit realm, he founded the Circle of Order, an organization who's sole job is to strike down megalomaniacs. Prospective members are scouted and invited to the Order's training academy. As you guessed, your players are part of the incoming class! The tone is whimsical and adventurous, think something akin to fantasy anime like Witch Hat. Sessions will be held on discord voice chat, no camera. I am looking for 4 to 5 players. I am in my 20s, so players must be older than 18, no compromise. If you are interested, please fill out this google form. There are only a handful of required questions asking for your discord/reddit handle, your name, your pronouns, and your ttrpg preferences. Everything else is optional! I know a lot of people already do forms like these, so I wanted to make it light. I will leave it open for a week and a half and reassess from there.  Please apply here

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
The campaign takes its place in the western Region of the continent of Cenaria. The continent used to be a lively place, your usual fantasy D & D World. Until the day of Wrath. one day a darkness spread across the world blocking out the sun. As the darkness spread with it came a disease. People who stayed there too long started to change. Their skin turned pale, their eyes became red and black and their veins started protruding with strange green coloring. With them the Pales were born. Most pales kept their sanity and physicality intact and could live with shortened lifespans and weakened bodies. But life was not yet over, people started fighting back, firstly making remedies to slow the effects of the sickness and eventually a magical marvel. The catalyst, these crystals were invented by a group of wizards far away from the western region, the first forms of the catalysts would protect those near it against the effects of the sickness. But as the technology of the catalyst grew it eventually became what we now call Grand Catalysts. Giant crystals in the hearts of cities. When kept alive these crystals would return the sunlight into the city protecting the citizens of any sickness and making it seem as if nothing had ever gone. But a foot outside the walls of the catalyst and the darkness would return. The party will start as a group of Swords for hire, or Kinnies. Kinnies are groups or parties that do odd jobs in and around cities. Sometimes their work can be in the grey zone or even fully illegal. Often they do the work and don't ask questions, as long as their paycheck comes in. Your group came together recently in the city of Bowthorpe, you don’t know much about each other but you just heard about a big job from your contractors.

The Arkadian Exports Company

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
An open-world sandbox style campaign focused on gaining power through financial, political and military strength. The party will start at level one(with a few minor enhancements) and pursue local influence and gathering funds. Will you choose to purchase gear and lean into completing bounties or search for treasure among the ruins? Will you invest in a local restaurant and gather rare monster parts for fancy expensive dishes? Will you delve into small town intrigue and increase your fame through quests and manipulation?  I will likely run a one or two session intro where the party is restricted to a small town and must complete their assigned quest. If the group is happy with the world and we all want to continue, we can make any necessary adjustments and open the world up to a much larger mapped area. At that point, the group will be able to explore and jump into quests, bounties, dungeons, etc. If you can pay, you can hire contractors to build, mercenaries to fight, mages to scry. Kill and steal if you like, but beware that unplanned murder and theft can be risky, and the authorities are scary.  This campaign is set in a fairly basic fantasy type world with its own history. You can read the lore dump if you like, but it won't be necessary to play. Magic works as you would expect, deities exist, and whatever else your character might depend on won't be mysteriously absent. This campaign is designed around supporting YOUR fun adventures, and the world is there to facilitate that.  - I am aiming for 3-4 players, games on Saturday nights, and mainly play using voice on Discord and maps on Owlbear.  - There will be graphic violence and people being quite rude to each other.  - Danger is real and your character can die, but that would generally be the result of ignoring clear "are you sure about this?" moments. - Every type of human is welcome, and there will be zero tolerance for shittiness. - Sexual stuff is kept to a minimum.  - If you have anything you would like to be avoided in game(phobias, etc), send me a private message and it won't appear.  Anyone who'd like to join, please check out the application below and respond to any sections you like. New players welcome. https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vTqSonCE6_1giGIJIKV2Yj7eegyb7XQJgNe6U3R2fq7v2psUUEXHZVEdNHb8H5Dl2MsBv7CCosPBPKa/pub

Twice a week | 7pm CST to 10:30pm CST | Weekends ( Saturday / Sunday ) With leeway. Starting date is currently TBD but hoping to begin sooner rather than later. Balanced amount of Roleplay; Combat; and Exploration. Open to light Homebrew with discussion. Rule of Cool supported. Largely classic 5e/5.5e rules. World and enemies are Homebrew design with heavy inspiration from source material. Discord ; Roll 20; 3D Model showcases; Theater of the mind + Campaign and Battle Maps + Ambience / Music - "The Vermintide" is my upcoming Homebrew DnD campaign based heavily but not entirely on the Skaven of the Total War: Warhammer universe. No prior knowledge of this material is required. The story follows a semi-post-apocalyptic scenario in which Ratmen known as the "Skaven" who were previously believed to be an ancient myth have risen from their hidden under-empire in order to wipe out the surface dwellers. Players will be among the few heroes selected from their respective races and factions to defend what remains of their world from the villainous Ratmen as they slowly work towards a common goal of tearing apart their verminous schemes before all is lost. This is a long-term campaign with aspirations of forming tight friendships and a long term commitment that will go on for as long as the players have the will to play. Adding days, taking days off, extending times or calling it early are all open to discussion and there are no hard-set rules. That being said, please think hard about if you are able/willing to commit to something like this before reaching out so we can avoid any potential disasters or conflicts of interest. - Starting level is level 3 - Point buy system - All sources allowed with discussion; Light homebrew or modifications of systems allowed with discussion. - Character creation is very open. Go wild. Make a character you're excited to play and we'll work together to make it happen in a balanced and logical way. My ONLY ask is that you attempt to refrain from making a total "Joke" character as this is intended to be a dark and heavy campaign atmosphere. - New players are welcome and the DM is happy to teach and be very patient. - Players are expected to be consistent with attendance or give a notice of absence in advance. Life happens, days are flexible and we don't live life around the game ( except for me ) and that's okay! This is a hobby we are sharing together though so please be mindful of other's time. - Evil characters and inter-party conflicts are not outright banned but will require group discussion and consent. - Story is structured but player freedom of choice and direction is completely prioritized. There will be lots of improv and almost no railroading unless we are severely off track. I heavily prefer having 1 on 1's over voice to see if we're a good fit! Video is NOT required for the game but always welcome to those who wish to. This is an LGBTQ+ and Judgement free zone; Be respectful to one another. Story includes darker more mature themes including lots and lots of rat gore and fantasy racism. Please be 18+. Feel free to DM me directly with any questions or if you have any interest. If you want to learn more about the world or hear more from me about the source material I'll be using please feel welcome to that as well. Thank you so much!

Adventurers are mysteriously drawn to the realm of Barovia which is surrounded by deadly mist and ruled by the vampire wizard Strahd von Zarovich. This gothic horror adventure takes the players on a course through Barovia that culminates with a vampire hunt inside Castle Ravenloft. Using a deck of tarokka cards, the Dungeon Master can randomize parts of the adventure such as the identity of a powerful ally, the placement of important magic items across Barovia, and Strahd's location within Castle Ravenloft. This adventure module is designed to take four to six player characters from 1st level to 10th level. [test post - will be removed soon]

Hello everyone! I'm a DM with about 6 years of experience behind the screen (and occasionally as a player). I am currently looking for up to six players to join my table, whether you have plenty of previous experience or are a complete beginner to the hobby. Ever since the Dragon Cult’s terrifying attacks, the city of Volkenheim has been in complete lockdown. Nightly curfews, travel passes, heavily restricted spellcasting, the whole package. The High Magistry claims it’s all for our protection. And on paper? They’re doing a remarkable job. Ever since the wizards enforced order and became the city’s de facto sentinels, the chaos has vanished. The streets are quiet. Safer than they’ve been in decades. But absolute security comes at a price. When every step is governed by someone else’s rules, peace starts to feel a lot like a cage. Still, most citizens accept it. They call it a justified trade for safety. I might have believed that, too... if I hadn't accidentally stumbled onto the truth. The Dragon Cult isn't pulling the strings. The High Magistry orchestrated the attacks themselves. What to Expect: Heavy emphasis on roleplay, investigation, tactical urban combat, stealth operations, and morally grey choices.

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
[Please note the game is being played on Tuesdays at 6pm-10pm BST] Greetings, I am searching for one player to join an ongoing 5e game that heavily focuses around Steinhardt's guide to the eldritch hunt. The first thing to preface is the timing, the day cannot be changed as all players currently have commitments on all other days of the week, the starting hour could however be moved by an hour if necessary. The next thing anyone interested in should be made aware of is how "existing" the group is. By mid September we will have been playing for a year, though as people have become unavailable we have had one person join us in January and he has been with us longer than he hasn't so I would hope the same could be the case for you. A few more pieces of housekeeping would be mentioning the current group size. We have been running a group of 5 players for the majority of the campaign with my general ethos being wanting to run unless we have 2 people missing, recently one of the players has had to move to bi weekly and another has left due to simply not being able to make time for the game anymore. That has left us with a part size of 3-4. Hence is the reason for this post, as I would like someone to make take that number back to a party size of 4-5. With that out of the way, what game would you actually be joining? This campaign uses a lot of material provided by Steinhardt's guide to the eldritch hunt a 5e supplement by Monkey Dm, along with pieces of the additional story Heresy of Steel, all smoothed over with a narrative created by myself and the players. You may take the role of a hunter, a tool against the tide of beasts that plague the once fair city of Luyarnha, one experimented on by the enigmatic Obitus Scholare to be a perfect tool, or perhaps just someone looking to save themselves and those they care about. Maybe you are one of the many magically inclined individuals, one who has their upmost faith in the radiant one, or perhaps you attempt to understand the great ones who's presence lingers through every shadow of the city, all while trying to not go mad yourself. You could even be an unfortunate traveller, one who broke the lockdown on the city and has now been dragged far from home. Steinhardt's wears it's Bloodborne inspiration on it's sleeve so you can expect a similar similar oppressive atmospheres, deadly beasts and accursed nightmares. Additionally you can expect a setting with the beginnings of modern technology reminiscent of the industrial revolution. You can expect trains, guns and the earliest of cameras, though most people still travel via horses. If you are at all interested please contact me here or using Discord to discuss further details.

Aletheora

Aletheora — Create a person. See who they become. Looking for five adult players for an online oneshot (with the option to continue if the group clicks) in my homebrew world, Aletheora. This is a 2014 5e dark fantasy oneshot set in a strange, half-forgotten place — atmospheric, high-stakes, and focused on discovery rather than power fantasy. We’ll begin with a guided Session 0 and create your character together. The approach is simple: you create someone who doesn’t exist yet, then we play to find out who they are through the choices they make. You don’t need acting experience or to be an expert roleplayer—just an interest in treating the character as a person rather than a set of numbers on a sheet. I’m looking for players who enjoy thoughtful roleplaying and are open to a game with meaningful consequences and real player agency. If that sounds interesting, send me: •  How long you’ve played D&D or other TTRPGs •  What you enjoy most about them •  A fictional character you’ve genuinely cared about, and why •  A sentence or two about the kind of character you’ve always wanted to play Happy to answer any questions.

Shadows Under the Web

Welcome to Shadows Under the Web, my first campaign that is almost FULLY HOMEBREW!!! 🙌 This campaign is about the party being a group of mystery hunters investigating towns and villages that's inhabitants have been mysteriously  going missing as of late. The party's overall goal is to find the main cause of the disappearances and help the towns and villages get back to normal life :) Hey! I'm currently working on a horror/mystery themed dungeons and dragons campaign. I need 3-5 players to play it with me! I'll only be able to play on weekends and preferably around 6pm cst. Don't be afraid to make a voice for your character and please please please for the love of EVERYTHING, don't be afraid to talk to each other, in-character, for extended periods of time. As the dm, I already talk a lot... I'd love for players to interact with each other :] I will be closing this post after the first 5 submissions. (ps: let me know if there are any type of scenes that make you uncomfortable or anything. [ex: suicide, politics, ect...] I like writing good stories but i don't like writing ones that make my readers uncomfy!)

SCP - Hardcore - Containment Breach

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Playtest
The game is still being tested, and your feedback is part of the point.
[5e 2014] Online SCP - Hardcore -Containment Breach ime: Thursday - 5 pm PTD (My time) CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW: SITE-01 BREACH FACILITY BRIEFING — RESTRICTED ACCESS (CLEARANCE LEVEL 0+) > LOCATION: Site-01 "The Citadel" (Subterranean Super-Site) CURRENT STATUS: CRITICAL SYSTEM FAILURE / TOTAL CONTAINMENT BREACH The Setup For decades, the Foundation kept anomalies separated across the globe to prevent catastrophic chain reactions. Site-01 changed everything. Built miles beneath the earth in an isolated sector, it was engineered as the ultimate containment facility—a massive, automated mega-complex designed to house every documented anomaly, object, and entity in existence under one roof. It was supposed to be impossible to break. An hour ago, the impossible happened. A site-wide cascading power failure knocked out the main grid, neutralized the Scranton Reality Anchors, and blew the blast doors across every sector. From Safe-class holding blocks to the deepest Keter vaults, thousands of entities are now roaming the pitch-black, corrupted corridors. The Situation Whether you are a D-Class subject looking for a chance at freedom, an MTF Operative separated from your squad in the initial drop, or a Foundation Researcher armed with high-level access and classified knowledge, you cannot survive this alone. The Citadel's automated safety systems have initiated a Phase-4 Site Purge. A countdown timer has started: when it hits zero, the facility's nuclear warheads will detonate to prevent a world-ending event. Your Directives Survive and Escape: Traverse damaged containment sectors, malfunctioning security gates, and warped spatial zones to reach the surface before the nuclear countdown expires. Contain the Threat: The outside world has no defense against what is crawling out of Site-01. As you fight your way to the surface, you must use your environment, paratechnology, and tactical wits to lock down, re-contain, or terminate as many escaping entities as you can. "We secure. We contain. We protect. Today... we survive." /////////////////////////// Core Hardcore Mechanics Roll for Stats Individually: Ability scores are generated by rolling in order (e.g., Strength through Charisma) with no rearranging. You play the hand you are dealt. Randomized Race: Your race is determined by a random roll. Raw Hit Points: You always roll for your hit points when leveling up Tactical Fumbles: Rolling a Natural 1 on an attack or check results in a tactical consequence (e.g., your weapon jams, you drop an item, or you provoke an opportunity attack), rather than just a simple miss. Lingering Injuries: Dropping to 0 hit points results in a roll on the Lingering Injuries table, causing long-term physical trauma that requires specialized medical care or paratechnology to heal. Site-01 Survival Mechanics Safe Haven Resting: The facility is actively hostile. You can only take a Short Rest in cleared rooms. A Long Rest can only be taken inside designated, sealed "Safe Havens" (such as intact monitoring bunkers or active Scranton Reality Anchor zones). Stress & Sanity: Encountering Keter-class entities or witnessing horrific events adds a point of Stress. Reaching 5 Stress points forces a roll on the Paranoia/Panic Table, resulting in temporary behavioral consequences. System Shock: Anomalous damage is devastating. If you take damage from a single attack equal to or greater than half your maximum hit points, you must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or fall Prone and become Stunned until the end of your next turn. (Side not only classes available are hombrew ones I made for this world) I am fixing ans making updates to the world and mechanics so expect changes as we go.

Vecna - Eve of Ruin

Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
The campaign is the Vecna: Eve of Ruin module, in the middle. I allow a mix of 2014 and 2024 rules. The player characters are currently level 15. The campaign is combat heavy and doesn't have many chances to RP. Keep that in mind please. Please be on time for the sessions or message ahead of time if you will be late. Apart from being on time & insisting you let me know if you’ll be late or can’t show up I tend to be a very loose DM and will allow stuff if I think it’s fun but I won’t always allow Nat 20’s to break the laws of physics unless it doesn’t have a huge impact and/or is really funny. Comment or message me any questions you may have. We tend to swear a lot and sometimes make jokes that might be considered inappropriate. Please be aware of that and the fact that the campaign may include triggering subjects before joining. I will have lots of official and homebrew books/files available for players to read and use. I'll have Handouts containing campaign rules and explanations available to read or we can choose a time to get on and I can go through the rules with you. We will be playing on Roll20 and using Discord so proficiency with both of those is required, no using the dndbeyond extension thing because I will give custom items and the dndbeyond interface for making those isn't user friendly. If you have problems adding spells to your sheet let me know and I'll do it because I have a browser extension that makes it easy Please be ready to accept the invites not long after you comment. This is so we have time to make sure everything works correctly.

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Emberfell — Homebrew D&D 5e Campaign (Roll20, Level 3 Start)System: D&D 5e. Platform: Roll20, with a potential switch to Foundry VTT as sessions progress - voice via Discord. Format: Long-term homebrew campaign, multi-arc. Starting Level: 3 Players Needed: Additional 3 to 4 players. Currently have 1. Beginner-Friendly, no 5e experience required - those with experience will be prioritized. Schedule: Sundays, Weekly/bi-weekly - exact 2/3hr slot to be agreed with the group in advance, weekly, between the hours of 3pm and 9pm. The Pitch: Emberfell is a world that broke and never fully recovered - the sun's been dim since a calamity nobody can fully explain, and nobody living remembers it any other way. You'll start as a hired escort for a noble house's cargo, but a theft in a back alley on your first night out is going to pull you into something much bigger: an exiled angel bargaining with demons, a game piece that shouldn't be as powerful as it is, and a child who isn't supposed to still be alive. Tone: Tone is dark, but not grim-dark - morally grey NPC's, Real consequences, some geniune horror beats, but plenty of room for humor & for player-driven stories to unfold at the (virtual) table. Session 0 covers safety tools, such as safe words, topics a player wouldn't want within the campaign & tone expectations before we start. Looking for: Players who actually want to engage with the plot, NPC's & roleplays. Someone who will show up consistently, and is fine with a slower-burn mystery campaign, rather than pure dungeon crawling. New to 5e format is fine, as long as you actually want to roleplay. Drop a comment or DM if interested - Discord is attached. Add me or shoot me a message, and I'll send over some in-game lore so you can get a feel for the world, followed by a character creation guide (races, tone, what fits the setting) to get your character sorted. Once everyone's set, we'll run an online Session 0 as a group - safety tools, expectations, and a chance to actually meet each other before anything's played out. From there, each of you gets a quick one-to-one Session 0.5: a short solo scene built around your character's own backstory, no other players involved. Session 1 is where the party's characters actually meet each other for the first time. Thanks!!

Sex and the City, Baldur's Gate

NSFW
Not safe for work - the content or theme may not suit minors, so the site asks you to confirm your age first.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
[5e, 2014][18+][LGBTQ+] Looking for 1-2 players for a messy, romantic, Sex-and-the-City-style mini-campaign in Baldur's Gate 🐴✨ Hey everyone! I’m looking to run a super casual, very RP-heavy mini-campaign (around 4-5 sessions) for 1 or 2 players, on Discord voice & Roll20. If you love high fantasy, messy situationships, and treating D&D like a dating sim where actions actually have consequences, this is exactly your aesthetic. The Vibe: Basically, I want to run Sex and the City but set in the sprawling, chaotic streets of Baldur’s Gate. The main quest isn't about slaying a dragon; it’s about finding love, getting laid, and going to tavern brunches to debrief about bad dates. There will be a few encounters, but it'll be 60-70% RP. We’re going for a tone that is casual, funny and NSFW. I want the emotional beats and the romance to feel genuine, even if the premise is a bit chaotic. The Plot / Your Character: Here’s the lore: You (or you and a co-player) were a totally normal human until a wild magical mishap permanently turned you into a centaur. The cognitive dissonance is real. From the waist up, you are totally human with your normal sensibilities, anxieties, and need for actual romance. But from the waist down, you’re dealing with a new, massive body and some intense, hypersexuality that you are absolutely not used to. Baldur’s Gate is a massive, metropolitan city, but centaurs are highkey rare. Being a newly transformed one makes dating incredibly awkward. Plus, let's just address the elephant in the room: logistical challenges. Centaur anatomy means size actually matters, and finding an NPC whose, um, equipment can actually accommodate you (or vice versa)—and who isn't a walking red flag—is tough out here. Who I’m looking for: *  18+ only, obviously. There will be explicit NSFW scenes and themes. *  Everyone is welcome, LGBTQ+, but the campaign is definitely geared toward players who vibe with deep-dive character interactions, romance tropes, and "girl talk" energy. *  If you’re the type of player who loves making moodboards for your character's outfits, analyzing NPC texts (or sending letters via familiar), and trauma-dumping to the local bartender, we will get along perfectly. Logistics & Timing * Thursdays, 11pm CST * Discord for voice and Roll20 for maps If this sounds like your exact brand of brainrot, shoot me a DM or a chat! Tell me a bit about yourself, your pronouns, sexual preferences, and your absolute favorite romance/smut trope. Let's make some bad decisions in Faerûn lmao.

Tales from the Yawning Portal

Hello! We are a two-person campaign looking for more people to join us! We would love for you to join Vic, a wizard on the search for a portal that will reunite him with his lost love, and our NPC character Tim who's... Tim, a human fighter! We welcome any new characters, or if you would like to be Tim (who wouldn't want to be Tim?) that would be great too. We are currently finishing our first chapter, so we have plenty more story to tell!

The Game: Inspired by Stephanie Garber's Caraval

Hello! My name is Chorus, and I am coming on to look for some potential players who would like to be added into my campaign titled: The Game. We're going to be on Session 10 this Sunday. Welcome to Veltharia, a land kissed by the Gods of Olis. Here, we worship Umbriel, however we do not know what he's the God of. Only that once a year, he selects one hundred people to partake in a game. Out of those one hundred people, only one person will walk away with a wish. Whatever wish they desire. After the game, the ninety-nine people who have lost the chance will never be able to partake in The Game again. As luck has it, your name has been pulled, and you have started your journey through your tasks. Do you have what it takes to complete all ten tasks before the end? Or will you never get your wish? Please submit your interest through this form! https://forms.gle/rQ48bSqF9GtP1Avm7

House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
"For as long as anyone can remember, humanity has lived among the clouds." The world is a sea of endless blue skies, where great floating Sanctums drift upon unseen currents. Some are bustling kingdoms with towering cities and fertile fields. Others are little more than lonely rocks suspended above an endless abyss. Trade, diplomacy, and survival depend on airships. Every day, captains brave violent squalls, hungry sky beasts, and ruthless pirates to keep the Sanctums connected. Entire fortunes are won or lost on the strength of a crew and the reliability of their vessel. Beneath the Sanctums churns The Veil—an eternal storm said to swallow anything foolish enough to descend into it. Lightning without end. Black clouds deeper than any ocean. Every child grows up hearing the same warning: "Nothing lies beneath the Veil but death." No one questions it. The First Builders, the mysterious civilization that raised the Sanctums into the heavens, vanished long ago. Their impossible machines still hum beneath every island, keeping the world aloft, but their knowledge has faded into myth. Their ruins dot the Sanctums, waiting for those brave—or desperate—enough to explore them. You are not heroes. Not yet. You're simply people looking for your next opportunity. Whether you're chasing coin, escaping your past, seeking adventure, or just trying to make a living among the clouds... Everything begins with a simple job.

DnD 5e Strange Affairs in the North

URGENT NOTICE Ceresia Village Seeks Brave Adventurers Recommended Party Level: 5 Greetings, adventurers of the World! My name is Wilma, Mayor of Ceresia Village, proudly known as "The Breadbasket of the World." Our village urgently seeks a capable and courageous band of adventurers to investigate a series of disturbing events threatening both our people and the harvest upon which countless lives depend. If Ceresia falls, the surrounding lands will soon feel the consequences. Those who successfully complete this mission shall be rewarded handsomely, with compensation worthy of their deeds. Mission Details Several months ago, an unnatural fog settled over the rocky cliffs north of our livestock fields, in a stretch of land long considered barren and uncultivable. At first, the phenomenon seemed little more than an odd curiosity. But the mist continued to spread, slowly creeping toward our farmlands, while the surrounding area grew strangely silent. Travelers avoided it. Hunters refused to enter it. Then came the attacks. Under the cover of darkness our crops have been devastated, livestock slaughtered, and, most tragically, villagers have begun disappearing without a trace. Several brave souls ventured into the fog seeking answers or vengeance. None have ever returned. We believe the source of these calamities lies somewhere within the cliffs, hidden by the unnatural mist. Rumors As with every mystery, stories have begun to spread. Some claim to hear mournful howls echoing through the fog on nights of the full moon. Others swear they saw three enormous troll-like giants wandering within the haze. A few survivors from passing caravans speak of adventurers fleeing in terror after coming face to face with Death itself. And some insist that an immense winged creature circles above the cliffs before vanishing into the mist. Whether these tales are truth or frightened imagination, none can say. Objectives To claim the reward, your party must: Discover the source of the mysterious fog. Eliminate any threat lurking within the rocky cliffs. Ensure the area is completely safe. Escort me personally through the location to verify that the danger has truly been dealt with. Rescue, if possible, the group of missing teenagers last seen entering the fog. Reward The successful party will receive a generous reward, appropriate to both the danger faced and the service rendered to Ceresia. Additional compensation may be negotiated depending on the outcome of the expedition. Meeting Point Interested parties should present themselves at the South Gate of Ceresia Village. I shall meet each group personally, answer any questions regarding the mission, and provide lodging and provisions for the duration of your stay. May fortune favor those willing to answer Ceresia's call. Wilma, Mayor of Ceresia Village

Lumeris

Lumeris is a homebrew D&D world shaped by a mana revolution rather than an industrial one. Magic is woven into everyday life through aether crystals, which can enhance weapons, clothing, tools, buildings, and even the body itself. Traditional D&D races, classes, monsters, and adventuring exist alongside advanced magical cities and Crystal-powered technology, creating a modern manapunk setting where ancient fantasy and magical innovation have grown together. It is a world of exploration, character-driven stories, dangerous mysteries, and powerful discoveries waiting just beyond the familiar. Flexible schedule, available most weekdays and weekends! Schedule will depend on who all is interested! Located EST (Georgia, USA) This campaign is meant for all lovers of TTRPGs. Lumeris is an almost entirely homebrew world, from the planet itself, the continents that are there, countries, villages, cities, settlements, ruins, and even some additional systems on top of standard D&D mechanics. I want anyone and everyone to feel comfortable to come play. This is a world meant to just experience adventure, to just have fun, to solve mysteries, to win battles, to overcome, and to discover. Please do not be intimidated by anything, what I want more than anything else is just to find nerds and D&D lovers alike who just wish to participate in my world.

Howzits, I’m looking for anyone who wants to partake in a character-focused campaign. There are currently three players, and we still DM. For the setting of the campaign, mainly we're looking for a more vibrant setting that should allow any sort of character to partake; for example, my character, a half-elf wizard, is an amateur archaeologist who wants to open his own museum someday. Another prerequisite for the campaign, ideally, is to avoid common tropes I see, such as stopping an undead army or a god has turned evil and must fall. Though it is fun to play as god killers, sometimes it’s also nice to play as a simple band of adventurers that doesn’t over the local government As for scheduling, the current timetable is that Wednesdays are open, and ideally I would like games to start at 11 am EST (Eastern Standard Time) as the other player I’m with is Six hours ahead of me. If all that sounds good and you think you’ll make a good addition to the group, contact me through my discord so that we can have a better chat. My Discord username is HyperHotrod058

LGBTQ+ Friendly! Welcome everyone! My name is Love. Me and my friend Catie are looking to start up a mini-campaign, we've found 2 lovely people, so we're on the hunt for 2 more players to join us! If this post is still up we're still looking for good folks :) I've introduced a lot of people to the game so I think I'm in a good posi-sh to help anybody learn, my patience is boundless I promise. Eye of the Dunes: A rumor glides on the wind throughout Faerun, from the high courts to the damp alleyways. Kings and orphans alike whisper of the Eye of the Dunes, a wondrous mote of magic said to be able to grant its claimant any wish they desire. It lies sleeping somewhere deep, deep in the deserts of Calimshan, untouched under centuries of blowing winds, for we would surely know if someone had found it. You have banded together with a few other adventurers to brave the sands, an uneasy alliance at best, as in the end only one of you can wield the Eye. There's a lead in the capital city of Calimport, a café owner claims to know something the general populace doesn't, so you've set sail on an overcrowded galleon. You are not the first to try, but perhaps you will be the last.     We play on Foundry (veeery fancy) in a discord call     The campaign is set at a higher level, 8-10, and will last 3-5 session     We'd prefer players around our own age (20 - 34)     We love messing around and making jokes, but we do try to actually tell a story and often roleplay seriously with emotion. I try to be descriptive!     I am from Sweden and my friend is Australian (though a real night-owl), so we can't really play after 19:00 GMT+2     I won't tolerate NASTY behavior, you know, let's have a Good Time, Owl City & Carly Rae Jepson-style     No AI, come on, what are we doing here? About you: Please send us a message telling us about yourself! Stuff like where you're from, what kind of person you'd describe yourself as, your hobbies and so on. To make sure we don't invite EVIL people we need to know who you are, so share as much as you feel comfortable with. Trust me we'll read every word! We'd love to stay in touch and play games once the campaign is done, but no pressure! Thank you for reading, hope to hear from you :) (P.S: happy to share stuff about ourselves too if you have questions!)

Looking for DM

Hey everyone, We’re a group of 5 players from Europe looking for a DM to join us for a VTT campaign. We wanted to make this post a little differently from the usual “5 players looking for DM” because we know DMing is a lot more than just showing up and running a session. It takes time, effort, creativity, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work, and we really appreciate that. We’re hoping to find someone who wants to be part of the group, not just someone who feels like they’re there to provide entertainment for everyone else. At the moment, we’ve been looking at Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden because we really like the darker atmosphere, survival elements, and overall aesthetic of the setting. That being said, we’re not locked into it and are completely open to other campaigns or ideas if a DM has something they’re excited to run. The following are our main sources of inspiration for the atmosphere, themes, and storytelling we’d love to capture in the D&D winter setting. We’re not looking to bring sci-fi into the world itself—these are simply references for mood, tension, world-building, horror, and narrative ideas. Feel free to take whatever inspires you, ignore what doesn’t, and add your own influences and twists. Inspiration List 1. The Thing 2. The Terror 3. Alien: Isolation 4. SOMA 5. At the Mountains of Madness 6. Dead Space 2 & Dead Space 3 7. Annihilation 8. Black Mountain Side 9. The Hills Have Eyes (reimagined in a frozen wilderness) 10. The Descent 11. The Ritual 12. 30 Days of Night 13. Event Horizon 14. Amnesia: The Bunker 15. Dark Souls 16. Elden Ring The elements we enjoy most are: * Isolation and the feeling of being cut off from civilisation. * Survival against both the environment and whatever lurks within it. * Slow-building suspense and psychological tension. * Paranoia, mistrust, and uncertainty. * Ancient ruins, forgotten civilisations, and lost knowledge. * Cosmic, existential, and Lovecraftian horror. * Creatures that feel mysterious, unsettling, and unknowable rather than simply evil. * Small settlements with hidden secrets. * Harsh, unforgiving winter landscapes where the cold itself is a constant threat. * The sense that we’re uncovering something we were never meant to find. These are inspirations rather than a checklist, so use as much or as little of them as you’d like. A bit about us: We’re a pretty relaxed bunch. We like getting into the game, making memorable moments, and having a laugh when things inevitably go completely off the rails. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do care about making sure everyone at the table is having a good time. We’re also very aware that a campaign only works when everyone contributes, including the players. As a group, we’re happy to help take some of the workload off the DM where we can. Things like: Helping organise session times and availability Keeping track of notes, lore, NPCs, important events, etc. Having small roles within the group (treasurer, lore keeper, note taker, etc.) Helping with any admin that makes running the game easier We’re flexible with availability and understand that finding a schedule that works for everyone can be one of the hardest parts of running a campaign. What we hope to bring to the table: Players who respect the DM’s time and effort Reliable communication Interest in the world and story being created Willingness to engage with other characters and give everyone their moments Openness to feedback and making adjustments if something isn’t working A good attitude and willingness to roll with unexpected situations Personally, I can’t speak for everyone, but I genuinely feel lucky to have found this group of people to play with. They’re the kind of players I’d happily have at my own table, and we’re hoping to find a DM who feels like they’ve found a group they actually enjoy spending time with. We’re open to different styles of campaigns and would love to chat with anyone who thinks we might be a good fit. If you’re a DM looking for a group that will appreciate the effort you put in and help make the campaign a shared experience, feel free to reach out. Thanks for reading!

Looking for GM - 5e 2014/2024 or Pathfinder

Me and my buddies are looking for a DM to play on Wednesday nights. We are available to play from 6pm - 11pm cst. Prefer a DM that prioritizes balancing RP and Combat, or possibly more RP heavy. Looking to avoid a dungeon crawler. None of us are easily offended or triggered, but we also respect boundaries so if you have any preferences, just let us know and we will be happy to accommodate. Also we love anime and tend to flavor our characters around anime themes.

Hi! We are a group of four who have been playing together with varying levels of experience from fairly new to 5e to me who is very experienced. We recently had the game we were in come to an abrupt end unfortunately so we're on the search for a new one! We are all 21+ and we are all LGBTQ+ friendly with 3 men and 1 woman. We are looking to play anytime after 5pm MST on Tuesdays specifically. What were looking for in a game! We are looking for a roleplay heavy game with about a 60/40 or 70/30 split between roleplay and combat where our characters actions and backstories affect the world around us. We are also interested in a high fantasy setting with a wide variety of races, classes, and fun magical elements. We are particularly interested in a pirate campaign as well but it isn't required. We would also like a homebrewed world heavily and our party would prefer to use DND beyond for ease of making characters but it isn't necessary. We have experience with all sorts of VTT's and have no real preferences for any of them but we would like to use one for combat as theater of the mind is really hard to to for combat.

One Piece 5e Campaign.

Ahoy to all those reading! As you can infer from the title me(the DM) and my 3 other playees are looking for two or three more people to join our crew in our One Piece DND campaign.  This is a campaign that we've been trying to get up and running for about two or three more weeks now. I'm mostly responsible for it's delay, which was caused by interruptions in my schedule and me struggling with creative roadlblocks. So that's one important thing to note. Still I feel more than ready to start running sessions. It’s also REALLY important to note that I am a brand new DM, so some patience on your end is required. We use discord for voice and Roll 20 for maps! Our games are split between 60% RP and 40% Combat  I haven't really decided if we will be meeting weekly or biweekly. That will be determined on how well I can handle the class load I'm taking this upcoming semester. For this week and the next though it will be weekly.  We will be USING THE DUNGEONS AND DEVILFRUITS SUPPLEMENT ALONG SIDE CORE RULE BOOKS. Being familiar with them is not a requirement.   Requirements are that You be between the ages of 19 and 25 Be available Sunday evenings, and be able to communicate with me ahead of time if you're going to miss a session.    And be LGBTQ friendly. Excited to meet you! If you’re interested feel free to reach out. My discord is @meanbeaver1

Beyond the Storm – 5e age 13-16

Beyond the Storm is a long-term D&D 5e campaign inspired by the sense of adventure in One Piece, but set in a completely original world. Explore unique islands, uncover ancient mysteries, battle powerful enemies, upgrade your ship, and shape the future of the world through your choices. No knowledge of One Piece is required. This will be my first time DMing, so there may be a few mistakes as I learn, but I'm putting a lot of effort into making it a fun adventure. One player is completely new to D&D, and another has only played the short adventure Stormwreck Isle, so new and experienced players are both welcome. I'm looking for patient people who want to have fun and tell a great story together (D&D beyond btw) p.s We aren't using standard D&D classes. The Thief's Tale

I have a game that needs a bit of explanation. The game is open Thursdays and Fridays 8 PM EDT. Players can attend whichever sessions they like, as long as they make an occasional appearance they are still active. It is a city based game and all sessions are episodic, so there are no cliffhangers. Characters can be Bards, Fighters, Thieves, or Wizards. I emphasize roleplay and solving problems, we are neglige' on the rules. Each character can create a number of NPCs, based on their charisma. Each week they will receive rumors from each NPC. The group will meet briefly at Mike's Bar to discuss the rumors and decide on a mission to run that night. At any given time there are at least 6 possible missions available. Players can have more than one character, they will not operate together. Players can share information amongst themselves. Characters will have macros made for most of their actions, to keep things moving. Locations are highly detailed with lighting, weather and random events built in. I currently have about 35 scenes created. Have a look and see if it is something you are interested in: The Thief's Tale An example of my game mastering a scifi game: Stars Without Number (Space/Sci-Fi) One Shot! "...-" - YouTube I also write books: Link DM me here or from the game page to sign up or ask any questions.

Looking for Players for a variety of campaigns

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hey everyone! Our group is looking for another player to join our table long term. We’re a pretty tight-knit group where everyone enjoys taking turns behind the screen, so ideally we’re looking for someone who would be excited to both play and DM from time to time. We play every Sunday at 4 PM MST and consistency is a huge thing for us. We’re hoping to find someone who genuinely looks forward to Sundays and wants to be part of the group beyond just showing up for session time. Outside of D&D, we game together regularly and are always down to try new games. While 5e is our main D&D system, we branch out into other stuff too depending on what people are interested in. We also heavily prefer homebrewed campaign settings and original worlds over prewritten modules. Creativity is a big part of our group, and we enjoy building stories together. Along with that, we do use AI tools for brainstorming, character art, and note taking, so we’d want someone who’s comfortable with that as part of the creative process. A little about us: • Ages range from 25-35 • Preferably looking for someone 21+ • We enjoy a good mix of roleplay, combat, chaos, and dumb group humor • We value reliability, creativity, and collaborative storytelling • We want people who are interested in actually hanging out and gaming outside of just session time too If you’re looking for a consistent group to hang with, game with during the week, and build awesome stories together on Sundays, shoot me a message and tell us a bit about yourself, your DM style, and the kinds of games you enjoy!

Song of Sunken Sins

“Let no soul of Cestead call the bounty of the deep his own until he hath laboured for its recovery. Prince and pauper, clerk and captain, each shall take his appointed turn aboard the ships of scavenging; for the city is built from what the sea relinquishes, and no citizen may share in its shelter who will not first share in its gathering.” — The Admiral’s Primer, Volume IX: On Service and the Common Salvage, Verse 12. --- When the world ended, everything changed. The series of natural disasters that shattered the land and raised the sea levels meant the nations of the world were no longer a force to reckoned with. In fact, they were no longer anything at all. The oceans of the world churned and roiled and when they finally calmed, there was no land left for civilization to stand on. But that didn’t mean there was nothing left; out in the limitless wash of water that the world had become, five ships had - through happenstance or fate - come together and lashed themselves together to ride out the storm. As time went by, other ships would find them on the sea, and join them for safety and security forming a makeshift city on the water, the last bastion of life, the final floating example of culture and society - Cestead*.* You’ve recently returned from your second sea scavenging mission - a full month away from your floating home - but the promise of an actual payday and more Noted status got you back on the boat as soon as the opportunity was offered to you. The law states that everyone must do their time on the Gathering Runs, but only the desperately brave, or the bravely desperate do a second; and those who do more are usually somehow both. As you disembark, and return to the Gather to receive your pay, you don’t see the person watching you carry your single bag of belongings away from the docks, as you start to smell the scents and see the sights of home that you either missed, or wanted to escape in the first place. But rest assured, they saw you, and made a decision to offer you another way to achieve your goals; whether or not you choose to meet them and take them up on their offer is entirely up to you. But here on Cestead, the quiet rarely prosper, and the taste of salt on your face is perhaps growing tiresome. Wouldn’t you like to see what you can make for yourself, or make for your family? Some offers are too good to be refused, after all…. --- “I don’t understand people who envy the Landsworn - staying in the same place every day, every week, every month? It would drive me crazy.” - Boranabys, of Trevato Shed, Port Side --- Greetings, adventurer! We are a powerful duo of 2 DMs (one early 30s and one late 30s) looking for up to five players to join us in a long-term homebrew campaign. We welcome everyone, especially want to encourage people of color, women, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to apply! We want our game to be a collaborative, safe and fun place for everyone involved so we intend to be very thoughtful and selective throughout the recruitment process. Absolutely no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or any other discriminatory behavior will be tolerated. This game is online so applicants should have a reliable internet connection and good quality mic and webcam as we intend to play with video to facilitate nonverbal communication in-game. We understand that not everyone may be comfortable with video, but we feel it’s necessary for the collaborative and connected storytelling experience that we are looking for in this campaign. We will be using D&D 5e (2014) as a ruleset, though the world and the characters are entirely homebrew - though if you have a particular love for 5.5e (2024), we are certainly willing to hear you out! Sessions will be held weekly on Wednesdays at 6:00pm CST for approximately 3.5 hours. We’ll use Roll20 for the VTT, Discord for voice/video, and D&D Beyond for character sheets (with Beyond20 browser plugin). Before applying, please ensure that you are available at this time and able to commit to attend sessions every week (exceptions for missing games occasionally due to life events, of course). While we don’t plan to include any mature content, we will only consider applicants who are at least 18+. No prior experience with D&D is necessary, but applicants should be interested in a story-driven campaign with lots of roleplay (since that’s one of the things we enjoy the most) and be willing to invest time in creating an interesting character that fits the world and supports the party. We expect players to remain in-character during sessions (bonus points for doing a character voice, but not required), avoid metagaming, and be collaborative and respectful. No min/maxers, spotlight hogs, loot hoarders, or PVP will be allowed. To be sure that you have read this far, please list your favorite magic item and why in the last question of your application. We plan to keep the application open until Monday 27th, so please be patient while we review everyone’s application. We will reach out to select applicants over Discord to arrange an interview with us. We’re planning for Session 0 to be held in August and for the campaign to officially start on Wednesday 2nd September. --- “For what is Fate but a Master of Tales, A Storyteller with a cast of all, And if tragedy treats you like a pawn, Wouldst comedy feel better with the fall?” — A Chill To The Bone, Act 3, Scene 2 Application link here

I will be making a new campaign and looking for players. Focus of the game will be on survival more and slower story and enchanced by a lot of homebrew contents. It will also feature a lot from the furry fandom from species to actions and worldbuilding. It will feature VORE and IT WILL BE A CORE PART OF THE WOLRD. So if you dont like vore, furries and similar I reccomend scrolling onward. I will never ask for any payment. The games will be run on owlbear, or if I manage to learn foundry it will be there.  I am relatively new DM so bear with me. With those things out of the way now more about the campaign: Players start lvl 3 All races except humans are allowed. Homebrew races too(like demi-dragon) but ask first. All players get one FREE magical item tied to their origin that upgrades with them as they level up or if they do a big thing. In combat roleplay is more then recommended, meaning even if you roll low but salvage it with rp you might pass the check. There will be a lot of vore, the nsfw warning is there just becouse of that. I will be using a custom rulebook(modification of other vore rulebooks) for handling vore, which you can find here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rvMRkA1YIjp2vz4q0JMIHJbqkM_djb74VGuhCyLCGUw/edit?usp=sharing

Rolicrite "Realms of Chaos"

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
I run a homebrew game set in Exandria. We use Roll20 and Discord (Physical dice encouraged). Will often allow ROC over RAW. SUNDAYS: 11:30AM EST (3-4 player spots available) Continent: Rolicrite (Rohl-uh-kreet)-((Roll A Crit haha)) An ever shifting island continent, of the Shattered Teeth. In the wake of the Gods' fall a century ago, the ancient wards that once concealed the island kingdom of Rolicrite shattered, revealing its shores to the world. For centuries, Rolicrite thrived in isolation, a bastion of untold magic safeguarded by enchantments as old as time. When the barriers between planes were torn asunder and the gods were stripped of their divine might, the island of Rolicrite became a crucible of arcane backlash. Nature itself rebelled. The skies ruptured with fury, birthing an unrelenting tempest that raged for 100 days and 100 nights. Though the initial Hundred Storms faded, the magic of Rolicrite was changed forever. Even now, years later arcane maelstrom storms, remnants of that cataclysmic event return without warning. Towering cyclones of arcane chaos twist across the island, sometimes touching down with devastating effect. Their presence is marked by violent weather, mutating energy fields, and magical surges that cause spells to backfire, mutate, or even rewrite the laws of physics briefly. But the true terror begins once the storm has passed. When the Maelstrom lifts, it leaves behind a dead zone. A scar across the land where the Weave is utterly severed. In these Nullfields, magic simply ceases to exist. Spells fail, enchanted items lie dormant, and even divine miracles fall silent. These zones can last anywhere from a single day to a month, and their shape and size are unpredictable. Creatures caught within a Nullfield at the moment of its creation often find their magical essence drained permanently. Familiars vanish, warlocks lose their patrons’ whispers, and magical creatures may become mundane or even die outright.... Your adventure..... To All Concerned Citizens of Eastgaurd and the surrounding Keeps, It is with great urgency that we inform you of the recent prison break at Shadowspire Penitentiary. The most dangerous criminals, once contained within its walls, now roam free. We implore all residents to remain vigilant, stay indoors after sundown, and report any suspicious activities immediately. The escaped prisoners are armed and highly dangerous. If you encounter any of them, do not engage directly. Instead, alert the nearest guard post or town authority. Your safety is our utmost concern. May the gods watch over us all in these trying times. Sincerely, Eastgaurd Council of Safety TOWN CRIERS WORDS EXTRA! EXTRA! HEED THESE WORDS, CITIZENS!" "Shadowspire Penitentiary — breached! Its black walls shattered in flame and chaos! Dangerous criminals now stalk the roads and rivers! Stay indoors! Lock your doors! Hold your loved ones close!" "Among the escaped: none other than exiled noble Jareth Blackwood, former prison warden turned traitor!" "All able-bodied citizens and bounty hunters are urged to report any sightings to the Warden’s Keep immediately!" The party has spent weeks pursuing Jareth "Shadowblade" Blackwood, the one responsible for the prison break and the current leader of The Cult of the Whispering Veil. Their investigations have carried them across dangerous roads deep into a swamp in search of an ancient temple lost to history. Through recovered journals, interrogations, and hard-earned clues, the party has learned that Jareth intends to perform a powerful ritual during the upcoming Summer Solstice. The ritual's true purpose remains unknown. Jareth has spread his influence and scars wherever he travels. Those he considers useful, capable, or simply unfortunate enough to cross his path are taken. Some willingly, most by force. Once captured, they are fitted with enchanted masks imbued with ancient shadow magic, robbing them of their free will and binding them to the Whispering Veil's cause. What awaits at the temple is still a mystery. Some within the party believe Jareth seeks to summon an ancient entity imprisoned long ago beneath the ruins. Others suspect he plans to sacrifice his followers to ascend beyond mortality himself. Whatever the truth, one thing is clear: The Summer Solstice is fast approaching, and if Jareth is not stopped before the ritual reaches its climax, the consequences may extend far beyond the borders of the swamp.

Garden of the Architect

When a catastrophic explosion strands your party on a remote island, survival quickly becomes the least of your concerns. Legend claims the island was carefully shaped by a mysterious figure known only as the Architect.  Once, its three cities flourished together as parts of a single grand design. But the Architect vanished, unity faded, and generations of fear, faith, and ambition have buried the truth beneath layers of myth. Now cults gather in secret, ancient creatures stir beneath the waves, powerful factions vie for control, and whispers suggest that history itself has been rewritten. Every home hides a clue. Every faction guards a secret. Every answer raises new questions. Who was the Architect? Why did they leave? And what was this garden truly meant to become? Description:  Title: The Garden of the Architect System: Dark Souls module of 2014 5e, but then I fixed a bunch of shit. If you know 5e, you'll do great. But there are definitely a lot of differences. Also, dark souls knowledge is neither required nor helpful! 18+ Time: Wednesdays 7pm Eastern Cost: free Platform: roll 20 Slots: 3/5 filled Play style: honestly should be a good mix. I'd say maybe exploration takes a bit of a back seat.  Chat: mic required, cam preferred.  Expectations: show up most sessions, lmk if you can't make it. Be chill.  Content: honestly should be pretty PG13. Sure some murder and arson, but nothing worse than that really. If interested, just dm me. Thanks!

Hey Everyone!  Me and my group are currently looking for a Dm and Players to join our discord server for a long standing Campaign if possible! We are newer to D&D so we hope to find people that don't mind joining us! We want to create a community of 10+ people to run multiple campaigns later on, as of right now there are 6 members in our discord server so we hope to create a fun and engaging community where everyone can interact and have fun together! We are against paid sessions and believe everyone should be welcomed to join and just have fun in the community  Ideally we'd like to have 1 session a week and we can work out those details later but if we need to run 1 session every other week that's also ok!  For possible players We are a new community in discord so we want to make it a positive experience for everyone and have a much fun as possible! Backgrounds or other personal details don't really matter to us we want to be a open community and have a safe space for everyone to engage and just escape day to day grind life gives us and roll that NAT 20 to seduce the dragon (if that's what you're into 😂) but we also hope to just add more people and grow as a community and build relationships that will last a life time!  So if this is something you're interested in send me a message here or on Discord and I'd love to chat with you! Woes of Westgate

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
WOES OF WESTGATE Synopsis The campaign takes place in Westgate, Faerun's most sordid city. Under the youngest appointed Croamarkh to date, it had recently known peace. The city split into three factions: The Serpent's Crest, the Night Masks, and the religious sector, Gods' Hill - they all lived in a precarious balance of harmony. At least, the closest thing to harmony they had seen. But this peace halted when the Culling began. The Culling refers to a collection of recent bizarre phenomena:  First came the Withering Hand, a cult risen out of nowhere, choking the city with death in its wake to resurrect their dead god. Then, the Shattering Sky. Researchers across the Sword Coast have speculated it's been a thing for centuries... though now a rift the size of a copper piece has made itself apparent in the atmosphere. Swarms of aberrant creatures have emerged since, and everyday citizens now fear to be out at night. With these occurences came an arch-necromancer said to hail from Waterdeep, now working with the Croamarkh and claiming to have a cure. Many are too fearful to question it, but a handful of missing person posters have been printed shortly after his arrival. This calls for a group of heroes to investigate the belly of the beast. The clock is ticking, and so begins a race to unravel this nefarious plot before the world is torn apart.  Time 5 PM - 9 PM System Dungeons and Dragons 5e Campaign Level lvl 3 - lvl 12 Hello! I'm Kota, and I'm a newbie DM looking for a few additional players for a campaign I wish to try running again! We will be starting completely from the beginning, with our next session being a brief session 0 and session 1. Currently, the group consists of 3 of my friends who all retain a fair amount of knowledge of TTRPGs, but we are completely open to new players joining us as well! This campaign is for adults only, since we are all adults and it handles more mature topics such as fantasy violence and body horror. For anyone curious, currently the party consists of a bard and a rogue, with the third person still deciding. The game is completely free to join, no fees or anything required.  I will likely be recording all of the sessions with Craig, and storing them on a google drive so that you may go back and review sessions in case you missed some notes. The sessions won't be posted anywhere else. Campaign Playstyle I prioritize roleplay and character choices affecting the narrative over all else, balanced with combat sprinkled throughout important narrative moments. I tend to be super chill as a DM, and I'm a heavy user of the Rule of Cool. If the solution is creative or interesting, I will likely let you do it!  That's all I can think of for now... if you're looking for a super chill and open-minded long-term group, feel free to join us! Just contact me here first, and if you're a good fit, I'll add you on Discord so we can discuss it further there! Thanks for reading!

Very modified Homebrew DND game, levels 2-10

Description Hello, I’m Richard, 33, from the UK, and have DM’d for nearly 6 years and am looking for 2 players to join a new group I’ve made. This is a homebrew world. About the game world: Aurelis is a homebrew world formed by me smashing Forgotten Realms, World of Warcraft, and my own ideas into a blender, with fair amounts of stealing from Dragon Age, Fate/Stay Night, and Northern Lights. Broadly, it is the age of exploration fantasy. Plate armour, horses, ships with cannons, pistols and muskets, and the rise of organised religion conflicting with traditional pantheon beliefs. Netherese Empire fell, and since then, while large empires formed to the south and west, a large region struggled with all the monsters, instabilities, and remains fragmented. Level 5 characters are considered serious figures; above level 7 is extremely rare. Map for reference: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IEkkwUWubui_cf-p9OIK8Uqg9cGPnnv_/view?usp=sharing Entry image It has 17 species split into 30 different groups – I’ve worked hard to try and ensure no-one are humans in fur-suits, and instead have distinct mechanical, narrative, and biological differences. All elves are addicted to magic and must sate this addiction in different ways; Kanami only feel emotion through their Netherese masks; Riksha have primal urges they desperately try to keep under control, for example. Here is a snapshot of them – currently, I’ve drawn 20 of the images here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IIWYu61Pxj8HW_Kylr3QQJqy-q2HRUyi/view?usp=sharing  Entry image Story Protected from the turbulent waters of the Malestrom, the sea of Rashemi should provide warm, safe harbour to those around it. However, the most powerful – The Bowline and Rashemi – have great interest in ensuring it remains unstable. Rashemi is sometimes seen as the centre of Aurelis, an untamed land free from the influence of empires squabbling over land and the laws they impose. And it used this freedom to take it from others, for here was an immense basin to which much of the slave trade poured in. Many would sell across these shores, where they were either bought by Razachai, or sent on to join the main arteries of it, where they would be auctioned and sent off, often southward into the ever-hungry Summeril. In the last couple of decades, two individuals made remarkable progress in sealing these arteries; now, slavery is officially outlawed and is increasingly seen as a horror and abomination of Summeril. But those who profited from it haven’t gone away, just driven more underground, awaiting the moment these two figures fall. Piracy here is rampant, often venturing out to prey on the ships of the coast, but happily striking the vessels who do not pay within the sea itself. It is centred on the city of The Bowline, and 3 pirate lords have carved it up between themselves. Each balances the others, unable to stand against the other 2, but it would take little to tip the balance of power.   The Floran – a small savage race from the Feywild – are proliferating, and have managed to go from the coast to the islands and take them over. A figure, known only as Mistreaver, has become a dangerous force in the region – mist covers an area, and out from there, the men drag you away, never to be seen again. And ships from across the sea – from the Summeril Empire in the south, and the Kavraaki Kaorazate in the west – have begun prowling here. No one knows why, but it certainly won’t be in their interests two let these two empires in.   The adventure starts at level 2, and swiftly leads to the party acquiring a ship. Act 1 would focus more on Mistreaver and building up your ship – getting important NPCs for it to function – while going on adventures. Changes I’ve made I find DND a wonderful system with a huge number of flaws due to WotC’s lack of attention, and I’ve spent the last few years trying to fix them. I've run and tested most of these rules already; all I've done is streamline them from my previous game: Different Skills. There are 20 different skills, deleting rarely used ones and adding new ones – so for example, Performance is out, Medicine is a tool, religion and history merged into Lore, and I've added skills such as Mastermind and Discipline. Skills have listed examples, DCs, and expected outcomes for things they can do, to try and remove the Mother May I part of non-casters – you can play as normal, but you have those to hold my feet to the fire on what your skill lets you do. Skills are much more impactful. Tools, which I call professions, are much more impactful too, especially during travel and downtime (but still ignorable). New Charisma Skills. All the charisma skills are out, replaced with Charm, Inspire, Pressure, Manipulate, Reason, and Network. Everything is a form of persuasion in conversation – HOW you do it should be more important. Your charming rogue, manipulating spymaster, eloquent senator, and commanding captain should all feel different in how they persuade you. Social Pillar has Actual Rules. I have a social system because I wanted that side to be interesting. It was designed so that players could just roleplay while I have a system to track rolls – my previous players’ review of it was glowing and asked for it to return. All of the above is a long way of saying “I like Skill Challenges and I use that system for everything outside of combat” New (optional) Classes. I have WoW-inspired custom classes, which my players playtested and enjoyed (the Agent [WoW's rogue] had 3 years of weekly playtesting). You’re welcome to disregard and use base 2024 classes, except for cleric and sorcerer, which don’t jive in my world enough. Martial classes in particular will feel outshined by mine, though. There are custom spells, lots more choices, 2 masteries per weapon, and for martials, 5th-level-spell equivalent techniques at level 9. I’ve tried to ensure every common trope, from blood magic to the inquisitor, has a fulfilling home – and have made new subclasses to support specific fantasies. Piety. There is a piety system, but going from -10 to +10, because +50 seems like a lot of tracking. Each tier (+2, +4, +8) has its own choice of 4 rewards. Believing in a god is non-negotiable, but you can have a patron be the thing tracked instead, even for non-warlocks. This world divides species between Kyth and Kythless, those with gods and those without, as their dividers of sapience. The kythless are considered monsters. No resurrection, no revivify – people die when they are killed. There are critical successes and failures, and I’ve split exhaustion into exhaustion and stress, which go up to 10. I have a simplified inventory system using bulk, so you have to choose what you’re taking, taking primary inspiration from Darkest Dungeon. My drive file of everything is here, almost all of which is now on Foundry (just missing subclasses, which I’m porting over as people choose them): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1d1iVn2Hwn_syjgGfxaMenw0VYRUo9pL8?usp=sharing Entry image What I want from players I want players who want and engage in a serious world, making serious decisions. People who want to see chaos or have the dice make their decisions for them are valid, but not the group I want to play with. Players who want difficult fights. I am very good at monster and boss design, which take cues from WoW bosses. Expect telegraphed attacks, movement, soft enrages, and using the environment. In my 6 years, I have not lost a single player character, but they are often difficult and require them to think and engage with it. I subscribe to the Brennan Lee Mulligan’s approach to difficulty, which is: I want your characters to succeed, but I’ll be damned if you don’t earn it. I am much less interested in fights that aren’t a challenge and don’t tie to the story. Players who care – or their characters care – about civilians dying. Avoiding this should be significant motivation, and when in combat, avoiding it should be a significant mechanic to consider. People who turn up week after week on time. Communication! Almost all problems can be resolved through good communication. What players will get from me: Someone who will do everything to help tie your character into the world, and will collaborate with you to do so. I’m willing to rejig my world to make your idea work – want a Kanami character from a noble family, but none exist in this region? I’ll change or add a city to make it happen. I’ve already been adding places onto the map from player’s. You will almost certainly get your character drawn eventually down the line if you want an anime-style avatar. I am very good at making encounters and boss fights; good at threading storylines together, and according to my previous players, at designing things. Mechanically, you should have a good time at least! I will ensure, with your support, that your character and NPCs you make are tied to the world and story, even if not immediately apparent. Campaign information: The campaign will be from level 2-10. I am comically bad at judging timespans, but it would be three acts, and I’d expect around a year long. There will be combat, travel, downtime, and social encounters in fairly equal measures. The standard gameflow is deciding where to go -> preparing for that -> travelling there -> completing the dungeon -> getting back out with your loot -> recovering with downtime. Whether that’s an expedition to a dungeon, planning a heist, infiltrating a party, delving into a sewer, it broadly follows this sequence. We’ll be playing 20:00-23:30 every Saturday. We will be playing online on Foundry and have a Discord server, as that has automated a lot of my nonsense. I only got it a couple of weeks ago, so automated things might not do as I expected in the first couple of weeks; please bear with me here! 18+ please. I have no expectation of experience level – just willingness to learn (most of the drive isn’t required reading either!). I was reminding my last players they have 2 attacks 4 years into that campaign, so I am patient and helpful if you’re making the attempt! I hope you have a good day! I know I've frontloaded a lot here, but I'd rather everyone have a good idea of what to expect.
