Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
A fractured kingdom. A hidden lineage. A legacy of fire. Aethelgard, a kingdom on the brink of collapse. The King has passed and leaves behind a dangerous power vacuum filled by a grieving queen trying to protect their inexperienced child-prince son. A council of corrupt nobles circles like vultures, using blackmail and political gridlock to strip every bit of power they can from the boy. With the capital is consumed by this internal struggle, the outer military outposts and militia have been completely abandoned, cut off from all funding and reinforcements. The consequences are grim. A highly organized bandit syndicate has formed, taking control of all the southern trade routes, making travel extremely dangerous. Worse, formerly isolated gnoll tribes have begun to unify into a single massive warband. Their raids wipe out increasing amounts of outlying homesteads every day they go uncontested. Surrounded on all sides and abandoned by their rulers, the commonfolk are on the verge of open rebellion. Amidst this chaos, your party have managed to land one of the few paid contracts left in the realm: a job to hunt down this warband leader and stop the slaughter. However, what starts as a simple monster hunt will quickly pull you into something much darker, as you uncover a dangerous political plot underlying the entire crisis. Day and time: Saturdays at 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM CDT Starting June 13th Frequency: Weekly Platform: Owlbear Rodeo + Discord for Voice Theme: Heroic adventurers uncovering political plots, exploring lost lineages and fighting against corruption. Tone: Serious/Grounded. Joke/Meme/lolsorandom characters will not be welcome. House Rules: Several House Rules will be in effect. Documentation will be provided. Common Ancestries only. Balanced Stat Array. Slower Skill Progression. Looking for 3-4 players! Nimble/TTRPG Newbies are welcome! The system is new for many folks, patience is appreciated. Adventures in Faerun: Fury Grove

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
Hey all! Running a one-shot this today at 4pm PST and looking for 1-2 more players (open to a 3rd if a friend group or couples want in together). Currently have 3 players locked in. New to Nimble or TTRPG's? No problem, happy to teach. Pick Your Adventure (players are voting between 6 options but tied for these 2 choices right now). The players have voted for Fury Grove. 🌲 Fury Grove Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerûn · Level 3 The wood elves of Laughing Hollow have stopped coming to the spring festival. No druid arrived to bless the crops at Greengrass, no envoy to keep the peace between the village and the fey. The villagers are frightened. The hollow has gone quiet. Something dark has taken root in the sacred grove. And whatever is growing in there is hungry to spread. Themes: wilderness horror, fey corruption, druidic mystery Combat High Roleplay Low Exploration High Intrigue Low ⛏️ A Deep and Creeping Darkness Candlekeep Mysteries · Level 4 Seventy years ago the platinum mine of Vermeillon collapsed, killing dozens. In the months that followed, the survivors began to vanish one by one, until the whole town went silent. A mining company wants to know if it's finally safe to dig again. The road in is long. The houses still stand. And something in the dark beneath the mountain remembers the taste of fear and has been waiting a very very long time for someone new to feed on. Themes: abandoned town, dread, slow-build horror Combat Medium Roleplay Low Exploration High Intrigue Low The Details: System: Nimble 2e Day/Time: Saturday, May 23rd. Start time TBD between 3-6pm PT depending on whats best for all players group availability. is now 4 pm PST Session length ~4-5 hours. You don't need to be in PT, but scheduling is built around PT. Platform: FoundryVTT + Discord. Camera not required, but encouraged! Frequency: Just this one-shot, but the server is set up for recurring one-shots until a party clicks and folks want to commit to something longer term. Age: Must be 18+. No adult themes at the table, but it's an adults-only group please. Vibe: LGBTQ+ friendly, dynamic to different RP styles (first person voices or 3rd person). I do silly voices sometimes. You're welcome to flavor how you want or not at all. Current players lean toward combat / mechanically aligned but our group loves our RP moments too. Homebrew / House Rules: We run close to RAW with two changes: Using the new armor system from the playtests (which may soon become the default core rules) Alternating initiative. After each hero goes, the GM goes. Has a "chess-like" feel, distinct from RAW side initiative where all heroes go then all monsters. About Me: I'm Trist. I run Nimble regularly and love the system. I'll teach you the rules if you're new, and I aim for a chill, welcoming table. I've had experience running modules for 5e, running one shots, and a little bit of Draw Steel. I have mostly settled on Nimble now. How to Join: Comment or DM with anything you'd like to clarify. Then I will DM you my Discord, where we will have a small brief questionnaire of 7 questions just to ensure our expectations match each others. Once we agree it's a fit, I'll send a server invite and you can vote in the poll for which adventure you'd like to run (currently tied between the two listed). After a few sessions of one-shots to make sure group chemistry lines up I will be pitching multiple campaigns or adventures to choose from. Happy gaming! Trist

Curse of Strahd: The Devil Ascendant

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
The mists are calling. Will you answer? There is a land where the sun has forgotten how to shine, where the dead seldom rest, and where every whispered prayer may be answered by something far worse than the gods. Welcome to Barovia. Beyond the choking mists, ancient evils stir. The villagers bar their doors against the night, wolves stalk the forgotten roads, and somewhere high above it all, a dark lord watches from his castle. But something is changing. Old prophecies are stirring. Strange signs mark the heavens. And the threads of fate are being drawn tighter around those unfortunate enough to wander into this cursed domain. In Barovia, death is not always the end. Sometimes, it is merely the beginning. Curse of Strahd: The Devil Ascendant is a reimagined journey into Ravenloft, weaving classic gothic horror, psychological terror, dark mysteries, and unexpected twists into a campaign where your choices carry consequences—and not every monster is what it seems. Whether you are a veteran of Ravenloft or entering the mists for the very first time, do not expect the familiar to remain familiar. CAMPAIGN DETAILS System: D&D 5E (2014 Rules) When: Sundays, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern (GMT-4) Where: Roll20 & Discord Session Length: 4 hours Cost: $25 CDN per session (Reduced to $10 CDN until January 1st, 2027) The mists have opened. A place awaits you at the table. Come willingly, adventurer. Barovia has never needed an invitation to claim its guests. After all, the Devil knows your name. Will you live long enough to learn his?

D&D Magic the Gathering-Rabiah

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
System: D&D 2024 Platform: Discord, D&D Beyond, D&D Beyond Maps, and LegendKeeper Schedule: Thursday, 6pm Central Time Frequency: WEEKLY  Session length: About four hours Campaign length: Approximately 50–75 sessions Starting level: Level 1 prologue, with the full party beginning at level 3 Expected ending level: Level 16 Cost: Free Players: I am looking for four players, with the possibility of adding a fifth if the group fit is right. I am putting together a long-term online campaign set on Rabiah, one of Magic: The Gathering’s earliest planes. You do not need to know anything about Magic to play. I will provide a player guide explaining the world, important cultures, major regions, and the situation at the beginning of the campaign. This version of Rabiah is being built as a complete D&D setting rather than a short visit to an MTG location. It has its own calendar, cultures, governments, trade routes, factions, settlements, regional economies, and conflicts that continue moving whether the party becomes involved or not. The campaign begins in Marsa Qamar during the First Open Roads Convocation. New passages have made travel between Rabiah, its alternate Refractions, and other planes much more common. That has created opportunities for trade, travel, migration, and reunion. It has also created arguments over who controls these passages, who may use them, and what happens when two versions of history begin contradicting each other. There is a central conflict, but there is no required route through it. NPCs will give you clear leads and real choices about where to go next. You may work with a faction, oppose it, change its leadership, ignore it, or discover that somebody you trusted had a very different plan. Problems elsewhere will continue to develop while the party is making those decisions. I want the world to feel like it exists beyond the player characters. Merchants travel, families make decisions, factions spend resources, and local problems may improve or get worse without the party. If you save one town, another situation may change while you are gone. That does not mean I automatically choose the worst outcome whenever you ignore something. It means the rest of Rabiah is also allowed to act. The tone will depend partly on where you go and what you choose to do. Some sessions may be lighthearted, strange, or hopeful. Others may become dangerous or genuinely dark. I am aiming for grounded adventure rather than constant misery. The world can be deadly, but I am not trying to trick players into dying. Serious danger will usually be communicated. Planning, negotiation, retreat, local knowledge, and asking for help can matter as much as having the strongest attack. Each player will have an individual Session 0.5 prologue. Your character begins at level 1 and reaches level 3 during that prologue. This gives us time to establish who the character was before meeting the party, introduce some people from their life, and let their early abilities come from something that actually happened. Players will also be able to contribute up to three notable NPCs from their character’s history. Families, former allies, rivals, mentors, employers, and faction connections can become part of the living world. I will work directly with you before using major personal material. Your backstory matters, but it will not be used as permission to do whatever I want to your character. Mechanically, we will use the 2024 rules as our foundation. Approved 2014 material and options from the Planeshifted Guide to Rabiah may supplement them. Rabiah has nine primary playable peoples, including Humans, Ogres, Genasi, Merfolk, Bird Maidens, Goblins, Viashino, Minotaurs, and Brass Men. Other Magic species may also work if we can give the character a believable place in the setting. This is meant to be a cooperative campaign. Characters can disagree, keep secrets, have selfish goals, and make questionable decisions. They still need a reason to travel together and care about what happens to the rest of the party. PvP will only happen when everyone directly involved agrees to it outside the game. Because this is a long campaign, attendance matters. We will normally play if one person is absent, with their character handled carefully as an NPC. If two or more players cannot attend, the campaign session will be canceled or rescheduled. Campaign audio will be recorded so I can privately transcribe sessions and keep accurate notes. The recordings are not for streaming, a podcast, or public release. Players must be comfortable with that arrangement, and recording can be paused whenever somebody needs to discuss something personal or private. If you are interested, send me a message with: Your preferred name and pronouns Your age Your time zone and general availability Your experience with D&D or other roleplaying games Whether you know anything about Magic: The Gathering; “nothing” is a completely acceptable answer What you normally enjoy most in a campaign One or two rough character ideas, if you already have any What about this campaign caught your attention Anything you would want to ask me before committing I am not looking for the person with the most D&D experience or the most detailed character pitch. I am mainly looking for people who communicate, share the spotlight, care about the world, and are genuinely interested in staying with a long campaign. The start date can happen when we find a compatiable crew! I will speak with interested players individually before choosing the final group.

Campfire embers are the last thing you remember. Whether you were traveling alone or guarding a merchant caravan, the wilderness suddenly went dead silent. Then came the masked attackers—too many, too coordinated, and overwhelmingly lethal. Your camp was slaughtered. But you? You were taken. You awaken in darkness, bound in heavy chains deep underground. If you ever want to feel the sun on your face again, you and your fellow captives must forge a desperate alliance, break free, and survive an escape that will spiral into a world-spanning epic. PRICE: $20 (through PayPal or Venmo) / Session —> Session 0 is free and the first official session is 50% off. The price is negotiable, but everyone at the table's gotta pay the same thing so it's fair.   I also offer "bundles" at a discounted rate. WHAT YOU GET: —> you get to embark on a full homebrew campaign spanning from levels 2 to high teens (possibly even level 20) campaign with personal character arcs tailored to your character’s backstories woven in with the overall narrative. —> there is also an artist in my server that will do a frww character portrait art for each new character in the server SCHEDULE: Sundays (weekly) starting at 10am PST. Games will run 4-5 hours. ---> I will be running this game additional days of the week. Players will fill out a quick RPG Comfort Questionnaire featuring a Lines & Veils section to ensure everyone has a safe, fantastic time at the virtual table. OTHER DETAILS: —> To perfectly fit the unique history and regions of Wysteria, your starting character must be a non-PHB (Player's Handbook) species. This only for your first character, —> we will be using the primarily the 2024 ruleset with some favored 2014 mechanics in addition to various homebrew rules that will be discussed at Session 0 Ready to see the sun again? Send a direct message to @acedespadas on Discord or directly here for to inquire for more. If you’re a great fit for the table, I’ll send over the lore primers and everything you need to start building your character! A BIT ABOUT ME: Hello, my name is Aron, I’m 34 and I started playing this game as the forever DM just before COVID hit and have been DMing multiple weekly games since. I am for the most part fairly introverted which this hobby has helped deal with, and while I may not do all the little funny voices (it’s a thing I’m working on) I’m a sucker for the Rule of Cool and a good story! And what better story then one you build together as a collaboration with other like minded individuals?! Outside of D&D my interests revolve heavily around music, movies, and other general nerd things

Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
Welcome to the Somnium Shard. A sundered paradise; knowledge, gods and power's all known throughout the land, its history coveted by lost tomes, cosmic knowledge and crazed minds. With earliest carvings detailing a different world that may have been the Shard's muse, the inspiration for reality. However not all could be replaced, and the world's panorama was in its own natural discourse, with the residents at home. With that overly grand intro done welcome to my personal world, a multi-year labour of love that I'm still working on with every session, a sandbox type world for players to discover, learn about and influence as they desire. Designed as an open campaign for players to fit into as they wish, follow the threads of their backstory, or start a questline that leads to them swearing loyalty to a kingdom. Whatever it is you feel you want to do in a fantasy world I'll accommodate it as well as I can. However do not think that this means everything is free, the Somnium Shard is still a living and breathing world, thievery, murder and the sort will have consequences, as will trying to steal that magical artifact. You'll have to contend with mages scrying on you, rangers tracking you and bounty hunters after you if you upset the wrong people. So come and join the adventure, see where your characters can take you, how they can evolve and develop in this world with a DM that can handle whatever you feel like throwing at him. Fantasy adventure involves horrible and offensive topics. This official module can include or touch on: abduction, potential player-character death, extreme poverty, death by dysentery, stagnant water, fantasy deities, magic and the occult, animal harm, violence and gore, maiming driven by racial hatred, prostitution, brothels, sex, alcohol use, drug abuse, addiction, poisoning, murder, false accusation, witch hunts, religion twisted into fanaticism, abandoned children, harm to children, plague and mass death, genocide, war, indentured servitude (slavery), Unichs, false imprisonment, assassins, violations of the Nuremberg principles on informed consent and experimentation, supernatural pacts, beheadings, tyranical taxes, death, evil cults, indoctrination, domination, unlawful detention, bondage, imprisonment, toxic waste, environmental destruction, torture, body horror, maiming and death by fire or acid, corpses and human remains, undead (ghosts, ghouls, vampires), giant spiders and webbing, snakes, bats, other monstrous insects and vermin, necrophilia, non-consensual undeath, prolonged drowning, quicksand, twisted “nobility,” family legacies of incest and debt, fiery destruction, animal attacks, gruesome traps, mind control, forced transformations (lycanthropy), volcanic eruption, hazardous geo thermal features, claustrophobia, and more. Not for the fragile or the mentally ill.  Published module: The Fall of Plaguestone. Twist: Run as an Otherworlder / Isekai adventure (influences include Sword Art Online, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, The Wizard of Oz, the “Den” segment of the animated film Heavy Metal, and similar stories). You and a few others are somehow brought to another world of monsters, magic, and madness. Optional rules and Character creation: All player characters are Human only. Ancestral Paragon, Free Archetype, gradual ability boosts, Automatic bonus progresion are in play. Characters begin with amnesia. They have no classes or background—these must be earned in play. No evil characters. Not using the free ability boosts method. Ability scores are rolled: 3d6, then replace the lowest die with a 6. Only ancestry boost is applied. Ability scores (and the resulting bell curve) help describe your character. Attribute − 10 is the modifier. Good and Evil are objective, real forces. Alignment is not used, but sins committed are tracked. Introduction: You arrived at the northeastern tip of the nation of Isger, inside a farmer’s harvest and seed storage building, surrounded by Tar Baphon's undead hordes. one of the otherworld characters on watch ran outside and was promptly slain by ghouls. Seems all of you are trapped! Bort Bargrith's caravan clears the way and intent on resupply stop at the harvest storage building. Bort the dwarf rogue, Tamil the elven bard, and Shae the halfling ranger discover all of you. There is a confusing moment when no one can comunicate due to language. Bort provides a magical ring that gives you litteracy and fluency in the Common Andorian language. Bort says, "you must come with us or you will die here! The farmer families who opperated these farms are dead and by salvage rites you lot own all of this Stock. You can join my caravan fleeing Tar Baphon, in exchange for some of your goods."   GM: on the journey you may learn languages, purchase 30 gold of starting equipment, through use of Bort's magic rings and from the mass of refugees in the caravan get training in a trade (earn your background) and adapt to this world (earn your class) in the months of travel south. Setting context (past twenty years): Tar Baphon, the Slayer of Aroden, the Arch-lich, and the Dread Tyrant’s undead armies are marching south. The Goblinblood Wars have recently ended (a united effort by greenskin and scaled races to genocide everyone else). The orc war against the dwarves of the Five Kings Mountains has only recently ended. The hobgoblin Ironfang invasion of Molthune and Nirmathas has recently ended. Cults of undeath, disease, plague, death, chaos and destruction (Urgathoa, the Whispering Way, Rovagug) have been largely decimated, but hidden cultists remain and anyone you meet could be one. A recent witch-hunting inquisition died out, yet public suspicion of spellcasters still runs deep among survivors. A plague on the east side of the nation of Isger killed 70% of the mortal population. Platform: Discord. Voice. I will share my screen. I use Pathbuilder ( $5 to unlock all features, it is helpful if you have it, but you do not need it.). Starting: At a time the players agree on, once I have three or more players. Contact me here if you want to join and play in this Adventure.

Faerun for new players

The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Hello and welcome to your first adventure in the world of Dungeons & Dragons! If you want to join a fresh adventure but are not sure where to start, this is the perfect place for you. I am Glacial (gringo), an experienced Dungeon Master with over 12 years of experience running various TTRPGs such as Cyberpunk RED, D&D 5e, D&D 2024 (5.5e), and Daggerheart. Even though I have GMed for many different groups all over the world, my favorite remains Dungeons & Dragons—especially for beginners. I just can't get enough of seeing people discover this game (the best game ever made) for the very first time! I currently host a Discord server with over 40 players, most of whom are currently playing or have played in my games. You are more than welcome to hop in and ask them about the campaigns we've run! We have a great global community with players from the US, UK, Poland, Hungary, Finland, Romania, Germany, and beyond. The Campaign: A Customized Faerûn Experience Now that the introductions are out of the way, let me present you with my completely customized Faerûn experience! In this game, you will have the chance to be part of a story that revolves fully around your character's lore. I take the well-known world of Abeir-Toril and Faerûn—including iconic locations like Baldur's Gate, Waterdeep, Candlekeep, and Neverwinter—and build a brand-new campaign setting after discussing interests with my players. We could go on an adventure all the way to the Thay Mountains to battle the Red Wizards, venture into the dangerous jungles of Chult to uncover the mysteries of a forgotten land, or stick to the crowded, familiar cities of the Sword Coast where adventures are always abound. What You Need to Jump In The only things you need to do are add me on Discord, have a working microphone, and set up a Roll20 account (which I am happy to help you with). I will explain everything else! I will make sure everyone at the table knows how to play, and I will walk you through character creation step-by-step. You need literally zero experience to join. With that said, experienced players are also fully welcome! The cost of the game will be ranging from: $15 - $20 depending on the days we choose and the number of players.  What are you waiting for? Add me on Discord: gringo1380

The Restless Bones of the Wode Marches

Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
Goldamere is simple, it's easy to understand; it's farms, it's wheat, it's barley. It's a one-night stop at an inn, on a long, slow, ponderous, winding journey through interminable fields of crops. Nothing lurks under the surface of this idyllic town. It's just fields and windmills and ruined ancient shrines.  Oh, and the dead have started coming back to life.  Maybe there's more to Goldamere than meets the eye. Why are the dead of this sleepy farming town coming back to life and wandering off? Why did skeletons in ancient military regalia attack and drag off the town priest, Father Hadigal? Why don't the fields here ever need fertilising? What secrets do these ancient shrines hold? WHERE has Filcher, the town pseudo-dragon got to?  The people of Goldamere are farmers. They know wheat and barley, and making bread and beer, not green-eyed skeletons and dead people coming back to life. They're scared and bewildered, and what they really need is some help. If there ever were a time for someone to step up and make something of themselves... well, this would be it. Welcome to the Wode Marches! It's a swampy, thickly forest region, filled with small fiefdoms, ruinous keeps, ancient shrines and down-trodden, but welcoming folk that could really use a break. The plan for this campaign is to do an adventure in the sleepy farming town of Goldamere, suddenly beset by a supernatural undead menace, to get everyone used to the rules and each other, and get a few levels under our belts. Then we'll use the Wode Marches region as a semi-sandbox style game, where the characters can explore and push back against the bad guys who are pursuing their own agendas. When: Weekly on Wednesdays, 7.30pm-10.30pm GMT, starting 8th April with Session Zero.  Where: Discord and Owlbear Rodeo. Voice required, camera optional. Lines & Veils for safety tools.  Who: Any 3-5 players who are over 21. New players, old players, any sort of identity, including LGBTQ+... all are welcome. It would be great to have a mix of folks, but I'll fill slots first come, first served.  System: Nimble - A fast, tactical hack of 5e. Check out the quick-start rules, for a vibe check. Just the core rules at first - no homebrew/add-ons, yet.  Tone: Dramatic, heroic, with a splash of humour or darkness. Mostly Skyrim, with moments that are Fable. High fantasy, magical medieval world, with no artificers/magic-as-technology. How: Please send me a message with: - Your name/what you want to be called, and your pronouns, how old you are. - How often you could make the session (every week, every 2 weeks etc). - Your TTRPG experience thus far, or if you're new, what made you want to start playing. From there we'll probably have a bit of chat, and I'll slot people into a list of players. If I can get a core of 3-4 folks together every week, I don't mind having one or two other players that only show up every other week, or once a month or whatever, so don't be discouraged if you can't make every week. About Me: Hey, I'm Sam (he/him, they/them). I've been playing D&D and other TTRPGs a long time, and I've got lots of player and GM experience. I like to weave roleplaying into all of the play, and I like fast-to-run games with dynamic combat. I'm aiming about 50/50 roleplaying to combat. I love building settings, but especially with lots of player buy in - I want to incorporate ideas that arise naturally from play or your backstories into the world, and really make it out own. I like to ask players to contribute to the world during play, too. Any questions or comments, just send me a message, and I'll do my best to answer.

The Toll-Master's Crypt

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
Online Using Discord and Foundry. Game is 7PM PST on Sunday April 12th I backed the new Kickstarter and I'm eager to give Nimble a try. I have run 300+ hours on R20 but Foundry has the Nimble module so I'll be trying that for the first time as well. Characters will start at lvl 3. I anticipate the game will run 3-4 hours, but I havent played nimble before so it might be faster or slower than expected. The Toll-Master's Crypt A one-shot adventure for 3-5 players, set in the world of Aenothis. The goddess Nysira is dead. You were in Bellmere when it happened. The blessed around you dropped where they stood, no warning and no explanation. That was this morning. By afternoon, the refugees started arriving from the east. They say Eryx's army has taken Elyndral. The capital has fallen along with its god. The army marches west, and in two days it reaches Bellmere. The Adventurers Guild is swamped. The portal network is overwhelmed. Not everyone will escape in time. Half the city is in the streets devolving more and more into a mob by the minute. The people you care about are looking to you, and there is nowhere safe to take them. Except one possibility. An old crypt to the northwest, a contract nobody touched because the war felt more urgent. Something in there is raising the dead and poisoning the surrounding forest. Clear it, and there's shelter. The war just arrived at your doorstep. The crypt won't clear itself.
