Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Something happened to you—something you still can’t fully explain. A moment of fear, loss, or shock tore a hole in the world just wide enough for you to glimpse what most people never see. Since then, the shadows feel heavier. The silence in the woods lasts a little too long. And the stories you once dismissed as superstition no longer feel like stories at all. You are entering the Mythic North, a nineteenth-century Scandinavia where the old ways linger in the spaces modern life has yet to reach. People whisper about strange lights across the fields, figures watching from treelines, and traditions that must never be broken. You know now that these warnings were not meant for children—they were meant for you. You carry the Sight, the ability to see vaesen of myth and lore. With it comes responsibility to investigate mysteries that involve unexplained situations. When something disturbs the balance, you will be the one asked to face it. The unseen is waiting. What to expect: 🔹 A mix of premade mysteries and custom mysteries based on character backstories 🔹 A customizable home base that you can level up and gain benefits from 🔹 19th century inspired feel of alternative world Scandinavia 🔹 Story driven plot with character development implemented Never played Vaesen? Do not worry, this game is open for all. The system is easy to learn and easy to play. Link to game Primer to get a better idea of the game's tone and feel. Game is $35 + SPG Service Fees Per a session. Link to game can be found here on SPG. This is part of an ongoing campaign. One player is leaving due to life changes. Yoou will have access to the transcripts and summaries of the previous mysteries to be able to catch up, but it is not required. I will make easy for you to transition into the game. Contact me if you have any questions.

Stockholm is changing. Gaslights illuminate crowded streets, industry reshapes the city, and modern science promises answers for things once blamed on superstition. Then the murders begin. As members of the Society, gifted with the Sight, you will investigate the supernatural forces behind these killings in City of My Nightmares, a four-part campaign of mystery, folklore, and horror. But the published campaign is only part of your story. Between its chapters and after the conclusion we’ll explore additional mysteries inspired by your characters, their backstories, and the people and secrets they bring with them. What to Expect 🔍 City of My Nightmares as the backbone of the campaign 🔍 Additional published and original Vaesen mysteries 🔍 Personal mysteries built around player backstories 🔍 Recurring NPCs, relationships, and consequences 🔍 Investigation, folklore, and supernatural horror 🔍 A larger story built around City of My Nightmares, with mysteries woven between and beyond its four chapters. 🔍 A Society headquarters you restore and expand as the campaign grows The published campaign gives us the foundation. Your characters help shape what grows around it. This is a paid game on StartPlaying. It is $35 per player/session + StartPlaying service fees. Link to the game can be found here.

System: Vaesen Platform: Foundry VTT + Discord (voice) Time: BST. Wednesday 19:00. "In dark forests, beyond the mountains, by black lakes in hidden groves. At your doorstep. In the shadows, something stirs. Strange beings. Twisted creatures, lurking at the edge of vision. Watching. Waiting. Unseen by most, but not by you. You see them for what they really are. Vaesen." Vaesen presents a 19th century dark Gothic setting steeped in Nordic folklore and the old myths of Scandinavia. The game mechanics utilise an adapted version of the awardwinning Year Zero Engine and the best thing to liken it to is Call of Cthulhu but with a folkloric twist. Hello! My name is Mshary and I am looking to run a one-shot of this system in order to see whether this is a system I and my players from a different campaign want to continue with. I'm looking for up to 3 players and this is open to everyone! New players are especially welcome since I am new to the system myself and so may stumble a touch at first.  I am planning on running the starter adventure from the book "The Haunting of Castle Gyllencreutz" and that comes with a couple of pregens can choose from unless they wish to make their own characters. This acts as something akin to a prologue for joining the "Society" so it'll give us a taste of what's to come. What you can expect What you can expect from me is an experienced GM who has run a several long-term campaigns and many more oneshots and shorter games. The one line that best describes me as a GM is that I’m relaxed, friendly, and here to make sure everyone has a great time. My games are all about good vibes, fun, and group chemistry. I have a bit of an “older brother” style. Guiding things, hyping players up, and making sure everyone feels comfortable jumping in and having their moment. No one gets left on the sidelines. I am consistent and punctual. If for whatever reason something comes up and a game must be postponed, I will let you all know far in advance and try my best to accommodate an alternative game time. Final Words Thank you for taking the time to read all of that, if you are interested please fill in the following super short form: https://forms.gle/yWqWogMZvdD2A85P9

On a player profile - you are looking for free games and are not interested in paid ones.
About the Game Blades in the Dark is a tabletop roleplaying game about a crew of audacious scoundrels seeking their fortunes on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city. There are no heroes here—you play as criminals, outcasts, and survivors navigating a grim metropolis trapped in eternal darkness, surrounded by restless ghosts and a corrupt regime. The game runs on the fast-paced, narrative-driven Forged in the Dark system. Instead of getting bogged down in endless math, it focuses on daring heists, flashbacks, creative problem-solving, and dealing with the messy consequences of your criminal lifestyle. About the Crew: "The Red Dawn" We are playing as The Red Dawn, a Bravos crew. While other gangs might stick to quiet burglaries or smuggling, your crew thrives on intimidation, violent enforcement, and direct action. However, you aren't just common thugs for hire—The Red Dawn are freedom fighters fighting the system. You are pushing back against the oppressive authorities, corrupt nobles, and ruthless factions tightening their grip on the city. Expect a gritty mix of high-stakes heists, bloody turf wars, and revolutionary defiance against a world that wants to keep you down. Campaign Status & Who We're Looking For Current Status: We have already played a couple of sessions, so the group dynamics are forming, and the world is starting to react to our crew's actions. New Players Welcome: Don't worry if you missed the very beginning! It is very easy to jump right into an ongoing Blades in the Dark campaign. Whether your character is an existing ally breaking out of prison, a fierce new muscle brought into the fold, or a specialist looking to join the cause, we will weave you seamlessly into the narrative. Vibe: Collaborative, cinematic, character-driven, and focused on having fun together while our scoundrels bite off way more than they can chew. Interested? If you want to spark a revolution with a sharp blade and a stubborn streak, leave a comment below or send me a message telling me a bit about your TTRPG experience and what kind of scoundrel you'd love to play!

Getting a group back together who have not played for a while due mostly to university impacts. The games will be Cthulhu 7e and Classic Delta Green (maybe even Cthulhu dark Ages).  Looking for one or two more players to round things out. The GM is super experienced and creates a very suspenseful and immersive experience. The hard bit is the location - Newberg Oregon so a bit of a drive from PDX unless you are in Beaverton or Tigard. This could be Friday nights or Saturday nights depending on mutual sceduling, and with busy work lives twice a month max. Reach out for more info.  Important note (if this matters to you) we are a wide range of ages from 30s to 50s and we dont care about that - but you might!

Hi! This game is a self-made Chronicle which was written with the intention of being published for free. With this intention in mind, a couple of play-tests, similar to a stress test will be held in order to test and adjust things. This, is one of those play-tests. As all is done for free, and the finished Chronicle being published for free, AI images have been used as temporary placeholders. These are all subject to being replaced at a later point. Short summary: Cincinnati, Ohio 1987. The Family’s power-struggle has once again reached a peak as a new plot has been reviled among its Camarilla elders. Not since the previous Sovereign’s passing has The Family had such turmoil. Meanwhile, a sister and brother find themselves on opposite sides of the Hunter Vampire war. A village previously known for its delicious Dill Pickle now stands abandoned after an experiment gone wrong and a monster most foul lays in darkness, growing. Come meet The Family and venture to Massonville, where hidden nightmares await! (c’mon, it’ll be fun). Tags: Human experimentation, violence, gore, sex, overdose (drugs), mental illness, distress, bullying and tentacles (for good measure). Structure: 1-2 Setup sessions. Setup sessions are for players to meet each other and receive help with character creation as well as discuss game scheduling. 3-7 Game sessions. The playtest is a one-off but can take up to 7 play sessions to finish. All sessions are done over Discord and dice are either rolled using a Discord bot or with physical dice. Roleplaying always comes first; power gaming is not welcomed. That said, looking for 3 to 5 players and everyone is welcome to apply. Game days will be on Sundays and the goal will be to have weekly sessions (with potential work schedule issues being taken into account).  First session is scheduled for November 2nd at 17:00 CEST.   Comment or DM me for more info :)

Sign up here:  https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmleg236r00awl1042w6k0pbn You were turned into a vampire less than six months ago. You have no status. No patron. No seat at any table. And in this city, no one holds uncontested power. Ancient factions compete for influence in the shadows. 🩸 The Camarilla offers stability, tradition, and protection — if you accept their authority. 🩸 The Anarchs promise freedom and power for those bold enough to take it. 🩸 The Ministry whispers of faith, temptation, and liberation from the lies of vampire society. None of them trust each other. All of them are watching the newest vampires in the city. And now something has gone wrong. A feral vampire begins killing in your hunting grounds, threatening the Masquerade and drawing dangerous attention. Unfortunately, the blame is falling on your coterie. Handle it poorly, and you’ll be dismissed as reckless fledglings. Handle it well? 🩸 The city might finally start to notice you. The Chronicle You begin as newly embraced vampires, still learning the rules of the undead world. The opening story introduces the dangers of unlife — hunting, secrecy, faction politics, and the struggle to hold onto your humanity. After that initial crisis resolves, the direction of the chronicle opens up based on your choices. Your coterie will decide: 🩸 Which factions you trust — or betray 🩸 What territory you claim as your domain 🩸 Which allies you cultivate 🩸 Which enemies you create 🩸 What kind of vampires you ultimately become Some coteries pursue power and influence. Some fight to remain independent in a city full of predators. Some struggle to hold onto what little humanity they have left. The city reacts to all of it. Allies remember. Enemies plot. Power shifts. What to Expect: 🩸 Political intrigue between rival vampire factions 🩸 Territory and domain conflicts 🩸 Character-driven storytelling 🩸 Personal horror and moral dilemmas 🩸 A reactive city shaped by your choices Every character will have personal goals, relationships, and storylines that influence the chronicle. New Players Welcome --No prior experience with Vampire: The Masquerade is required. Your characters begin as newly turned vampires, meaning you’ll learn the world of the undead at the same time your character does. Experienced players will find plenty of room for political maneuvering, faction intrigue, and long-term consequences. Have a vampire concept you’re excited about? Message me! I’m happy to help shape characters that fit the city, the factions, and the story we’ll build together.

(FREE games only) Hi all! :D We’re a group of three looking for a few more players to host our weekly one-shots with! We are also looking to build up our Community group as a whole, so if you are a GM who wants a space to run your own one shots, you are more than welcome to do that here too! We’re all learning together. Very beginner friendly and low commitment, so no pressure at all to show up every week, just drop in when a session sounds fun ^^ You'll get taught everything you need to know if you're not fully familiar with VTTs as a whole. As of now, our main focus is on Troika!, DCC, Call of Cthulhu, and Mothership, and we’re open to trying plenty more! Everything we do runs over VTT & Discord since we’re spread across different countries. When we play: We usually hop on once a week around 8:00 pm (CET) / 7:00 pm (GMT). Weekly games are planned out in advance due to shifting work patterns, so a bit of flexibility goes a long way. If you’re 18+, curious, kind and up for some chaos, we’d absolutely love to have you! Feel free to DM if this sounds interesting to you :)

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
GOBLIN TOWN: Build and run your own town of goblins! Gather a hoard, cause mayhem, cast dark rituals, discover things deep in the earth, slay heroes, and work towards your master plan! [Story-Focused] [Roleplay-Heavy] [18:00 CET] [17:00 GMT] [12:00 EST] If you're interested, fill out the survey here: https://forms.gle/uKDg8hrzdiNeHm7K6 f you're selected, the next step will be a 15 minute Discord call. # A Court of Goblins: Goblins are deeply flawed creatures, driven by base desires. There are those, however, who are able to keep their baser impulses in check, rally others to their cause, and focus on a grander scheme. You play a group of them that, in understanding there is strength in numbers, have banded together to use your ill-gotten gains build a great goblin town deep in the Feywild. You gather a hoard, cause mayhem, cast dark rituals, and discover long forgotten things deep in the earth, all while working towards accomplishing your master plan. This is a game about goblins using ill-gotten gains to build a town. You build traps and other defenses to keep the hoard you gather out of the hands of the greedy adventurers coming to steal it away. Find out just how long you can survive against the inevitable onslaught of heroism your deeds bring. Find out why goblins need to hoard all that gold, who builds all those traps, and how much fun killing adventurers is. However, you’re not just monsters randomly causing chaos and mayhem. Goblins come and go, but the town outlives them, binds them together, and gives them a purpose. You map it out in detail as it’s built, then breathe life into it through play with events like revelry after a victorious raid, calamity striking as a tunnel collapses on your minions, or facing off against adventurers who dare enter your land. Your town is the main character of this story. # Town Themes Every town is built around a theme, determined by its central building, chosen together as a group before the town is built. The theme gives you a set of buildings that you can build within it. The theme keeps players all on the same page thematically, allowing you to design characters that fit in well with the theme or fill a unique niche, as well as choosing steps in your master plan that go along with the theme. The choice of town theme is a statement about what kind of things the players want to do in the game. You can choose from the following central buildings, which determine your theme: **Enclave:** Tapping Into the Arcane. Choose this if you want your town to be **mystical** from top to bottom. Its core feature is its twisted landscape, corrupting the area surrounding your town. An Enclave lets you build the following: academy, crucible, greenery, library, potion lab, scrying pool, and spawning chamber. **Forge:** The Power of Industry. Choose this if you want a town full of **monstrous inventions** and steampunk tech. Its core feature is its power source, boosting the productivity and defenses of your town. A Forge lets you build the following: alchemist lab, guild hall, factory, mineshaft, testing chamber, vehicle bay, and workshop. **Hideout:** Keeping Your Head Low. Choose this if you want to work as a cohesive unit and **manipulate** the other factions of the region. Its core feature is agents of chaos, allowing you to strongly influence other factions. A Hideout lets you build the following: dojo, gambling den, gear locker, obstacle course, planning room, roost, and tavern. **Stronghold:** Through Strength of Arms. Choose this if you want to face challenges with pure **military might**. Its core feature is warband, giving you a powerful minion that can raid the region. A Stronghold lets you build the following: barracks, bestiary, fighting pit, funeral pyre, smithy, war drums, and war room. **Temple:** Serving a Greater Power. Choose this if you want to focus on a certain **god and their domains**. Its core feature is divine intervention, which you can use to cast a powerful spell from your god. A Temple lets you build the following: altar, antechamber, augury circle, dormitory, reliquary, penance chamber, scriptorium. # The Details **Age:** In general, we're looking for people between 21 and 9000. **Content Warnings:** This campaign contains dark drug use, grim humor, minor horror, strong language, violence, and lawyers. **Day:** We'll be playing on Sundays, though we'll occasionally host optional sessions on other days based on player interest. **Frequency:** We'll usually have 2 sessions per month, though we may have 3 if it's one of those strange months with 5 Sundays. **The GM:** I'm originally from Atlanta, but I move around a lot for work. I like snowboarding, stage acting, novels, and tabletop games. I've been GMing for a few years, but I'm new to playing online. I'm male and gay in real life, though I play all sorts of characters in games. **Length:** We generally average around 4-5 hours per session. **Location:** We'll be playing online using Discord and Owlbear Rodeo. We're new to OR, so if you have experience with that, we'll be asking you a lot of questions. **Start Date:** September 27 or October 4th, 2026  **System:** The game we're playing is called *Wicked Ones*, which is a simple, story-focused system. You don't need to be familiar with this system as we'll be teaching as we play. **Size:** Our plan is to have 5 total players. **Time:** We'll be playing at 18:00 CET / 17:00 GMT / 12:00 EST / Whatever time that is where you live. **What We're Looking For:** This is a roleplay heavy, story focused campaign for players looking to get in character, give their character a unique voice, explore their character's motivations, and give their character an arc. If you're interested, fill out the survey here: https://forms.gle/uKDg8hrzdiNeHm7K6 f you're selected, the next step will be a 15 minute Discord call.

Welcome to the Mythic North. In dark forests, beyond the mountains, by black lakes in hidden groves. At your doorstep. In the shadows, something stirs. Strange beings. Twisted creatures, lurking at the edge of vision. Watching. Waiting. Unseen by most, but not by you. You see them for what they really are. Vaesen. Welcome to the Mythic North – northern Europe of the nineteenth century, but not as we know it today. A land where the myths are real. A cold reach covered by vast forests, its few cities lonely beacons of industry and enlightenment – a new civilization dawning. But in the countryside, the old ways still hold sway. There, people know what lurks in the dark. They know to fear it. Hello! I am looking forward to have three brave players who would like to join The Society, a group of people who were gifted with The Sight - ability to see supernatural creatures in the game called Vaesen. Vaesen is based on YZE and is rules-light system, with consequences of the action steering the game itself. Players are just ordinary people who are able to see the Unseen, and upon invite, they form a Society, group that is willing to go through the country to help maintain the peace between the Invisible and every day people. We will be playing starting adventure, Dance with Death, and move to the newly published City of My Nightmares. After that, we will decide on the next adventures. About the game: - Played on the weekly basis (starting August) of Thursday-Friday mornings AM GMT+2 (time to be decided) on Discord, via Roll20 possibly – a working microphone is a must; - Every game would have information about potential triggers; - Rules-light adventure of investigations, mystery, a bit of horror and supernatural elements - The triggering content will be discussed with everyone beforehand, but be aware that there might be strong triggers of the events of deaths among NPCs and animals, harm or self-harm, suicide, domestic abuse and occultist themes. I want people to approach those themes with respect so that is why game is 18+ and I expect everyone to accept that this themes, while not widely described, will appear during the game; - Game is happening in 19th century Sweden, and characters will start their game as early established group in Stockholm; - You chose from one of the archetypes: Academic, Doctor, Hunter, Occultist, Officer, Priest, Private Detective, Servant, Vagabond, and Writer. You can also use archetypes from Mythic Britain and Ireland: Performer, Athlete and Socialite. Who am I looking for: - People who are able to commit to the game on the weekly basis (some days off are understandable, but I want to have a group that can play together on more or less regular basis); - People who are respectful about heavy themes in the game and are willing to play the investigations that may touch upon more heavy content; - Players who are respectful to each other and are happy to roleplay as the group, not only contact with NPCs; - New players to the system are more than welcome if they want to learn the system; - This is LGBT+ friendly game and no sort of the discrimination (unless in-game specific) will be accepted.
