Hi.  I run a game on Discord, Tuesday nights, 7 PM Eastern.  It’s a fantasy game…sometimes.  It’s sci-fi set in Shanghai…well, maybe next week.  It was a western a week ago, I think, or was that gothic horror? The game has you as a special agent, traveling to alternate histories for a massive, multi-reality travel agency.  Because all possibilities are possible, you can be whatever you want (within reason, about as powerful as an X-Man/Teen Titan and you must appear as human or at least as something that’s common in reality like a squirrel or something that could wear a holo projector to appear human).  Our group has a Fae cowboy, and a dieselpunk femme fatale.  In the past we've had robots, intelligent sand, hive-mind insect swarms and so on.  You come up with the concept and we’ll make it happen.   The game uses GURPS – a very old, crunchy and confusing game engine.  However, you will not have to do anything, just tell me what you want & I do the numbers.  I (the GM) am so backwards that we do not use AI or software.  I use a paper map and puppets. A bit about the group.  We may have one person, maybe more, leaving and we need a replacement.  This is not set in stone & cannot guarantee this will happen.  The group is mostly younger (20’s-30’s) & mostly women.  Therefore, I would prefer anyone joining to be a woman or at the very least not be weird about it.  This will get you immediately banned.  Please be nice and professional.   If you hate your office job or capitalism in general,  this is the game for you! We’re looking for the following: Foremost is a good personality and a sense of humor.  You can be shy and awkward (shy & awkward people often have the best senses of humor).  Juat don’t bring the mood down.  Next is consistency.  We’d prefer someone that can show up.  We play once per week, and you will need to consider that if you feel it will be an issue.  Finally, we are newb friendly and pro LGBT.  All we ask that you don’t be a jerk.   We do sometimes say naughty words and drink adult beverages.  Well, at least I do.  Please contact me if you have any questions.   I will try my best to accommodate.  This is actually a very special thing we have going on so please take that in consideration.   It's not your average game.   I'd suggest listening in first & you can make up your mind from there.  I’d also consider filling out the questionnaire as it is different than the rest.  You can reach out to me directly at @yeroldpalwill.  I respond quickly.  Thanks.  I do hope to hear from someone.   Hope its you.  Like,  seriously.  Please reach out.   If this is of any interest to you at all, please message me.  I'm probably not going to.   Let destiny happen for once in your life!

Hi, we're a group of two looking for a couple more folk to fill out a new party. Thought the game will start by player agreement, not necessarily when the seats fill up. The start time is not fixed yet, but it will be at the weekend. Current plan for the campaign is for the players to wake up without their memories in an ancient floating magical city, ruled by wizards. The city is experiencing its own massive cultural and economic shift as it exists is own version of the medieval period.  The main goals of the game is to figure out the answer to: Who were they before? Why are they here? How can they get home? Who is trying to kill them? Note: I've added a second identical listing, except for dnd, rather than GURPS. Unless I get loads of interest, I'm not running both games - I made two listings to indicate both of us are happy to run under either ttrpg.

Lunch and Learn and OH MY GOD!!!

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
Hi.  I run a game on Wednesdays. Eastern time zone on Discord that I feel needs one additional player.   It's a young group (20's, 30's) and have been around for a few years.   There are 5 players.  The game itself has the players with corporate security jobs defending against alternate realities/histories.   So, extreme violence but with the occasional HR training module about problemsolving skills. Yes,  the worst of two worlds. Because it's alternate reality fighting alternate realities, the player can be whatever they want, quite literally anything.  GURPS allows the players to create whatever comes to your imagination,  but we'll worry about that later.  The tricky part isn't what we do but how.  The group does try to outdo each other in weirdness.   It's not murderhobo, but a new unprecedented thing.   So, you will have to keep that in mind.   This is not for the humorless or overly moral or easily uncomfortable. Think of this as a means to lead you down a new path,  one where you learn about a you that you have never met but has always known was there or you get your money back,  no questions asked.  Feel free to message me or DM on discord - yeroldpalwill.  Seriously, they're a nice group of people and you'll have fun.   Having a sense of humor & a personality is a huge plus.  Thank for reading this far.  If you're a newbie  don't worry,  I'll help with the character.   Just combine your two favorite movie, literature, or anime genres together.  Also, Wednesdays,  7 PM eastern.

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
I'm looking for a few new players to join my GURPS Super Heroes campaign, inspired by the game Dispatch. The campaign takes place in a modern-day version of the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo, blending street-level heroics, conspiracies, and larger-than-life superhuman threats. We currently have 2 active players and have been playing (on and off) for almost a year. Our sessions are held every other Sunday at 18:00 (Lisbon time). Unfortunately, one of our players recently had to step away due to personal reasons, so we're looking for 2–3 new players to round out the group. The campaign is currently run entirely in Portuguese, but if there's enough interest from non-Portuguese speakers, I'd be happy to switch the game to English. Portuguese speakers from anywhere are also more than welcome! Whether you're an experienced GURPS player or completely new to the system, you're welcome to join. If you're interested in superhero roleplaying and can make the schedule, feel free to send me a message!

Mass Effect sandbox campaign using Genesys

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Hey all! I'm in the early stages of building a Mass Effect campaign using the Genesys RPG system, and I want to see if there's enough interest before I go all in. The setting: The 2170s, about a decade before the first game. Nobody knows about the looming danger that the Reapers will bring yet, so you'll be navigating a galaxy set in its ways and slow to change. The style: Sandbox style. I'm building a detailed galaxy full of factions and characters (some known, some custom) with their own goals, then letting you loose in it. Your crew gets a ship, and where you go from there is up to you. Why Genesys/About Me: Genesys's dice system gives you more than just a pass or fail, so every roll can help write the story. That fits how I like to run games, since I treat the whole thing as a cooperative storytelling adventure. I've never run Genesys before, but I have experience running 5e and a few 2d20 systems as a GM. I'm completely newbie friendly and don't mind explaining mechanics and learning on the fly. I like weaving character backgrounds into the story whenever possible, and I'm happy to help players build hooks into their backgrounds if they want a hand. Characters: Using Genesys makes choosing a character fairly straightforward. We can match ME species and classes to different Genesys archetypes and roles fairly easily. The main thing I am hoping for is thourough character concepts. I like the characters in games I run to have well defined motivations and fears. Note, a complete history of your character is not necessary. I just want every player to have a strong idea of how and why their character would react to any given situation by fleshing out their foundational personalities. It helps with roleplay and with player investment in the game. Regardless, you don't have to have your character in mind right this moment. I just want you to know what to expect at session 0. Starting points: I have a handful of example starts (Spectre candidates, mercenaries, freighter crews, relic hunters, corporate whistleblowers, and more), but I'm also open to the group building its own. What I'm looking for: 2 or 3 players who want a cooperative storytelling experience rather than a GM-versus-players game. I see my job as giving you a framework to tell a story in. I default to the rules, but if bending or breaking them creates a more memorable moment, I'll do it.

AVATAR: THE SEVERED AGE "They told us the elements were sacred. Then they put a price on them, a chip in your skull, and a payment plan on your soul." The Premise Korra has been dead for three years. In the decades before her death, the Spirit Portal in Republic City stopped being a miracle and became an energy source. Spirit vines spread through the city's foundations, rail lines, power grid... and eventually into people. Engineers learned to route chi through circuitry. Ripperdocs learned to graft it into flesh. What should have taken a century took thirty years. The world woke up neon. Today, anyone with enough money or enough debt can buy bending. A non-bender walks into a corporate storefront, signs a financing contract for a Chi Emulator, and walks out throwing fire like a Fire Nation soldier. The Equalist dream came true. Not through revolution. Through retail. Every implant comes with a hidden cost. The more chrome you install, the quieter your own chi becomes. Benders slowly lose their connection to the elements until, eventually, they become Severed. No spirits. No bending. No way back... at least, that's what everyone believes. Meanwhile, somewhere in the world is an Earth Kingdom child who should have become the next Avatar. They are three years old. No one has found them. The White Lotus has searched for years without success. Some believe the child was born spirit-deaf. Others whisper a corporation found them first and is quietly discovering what an Avatar's soul is worth. Some fear the Avatar Cycle itself is breaking. Everyone is searching for the same missing child. You'll either find them first... ...or discover why no one else ever could. What You Can Play: A traditional bender trying to preserve a dying art. A Severed ex-bender willing to burn the world to reclaim their element. A Ghost, projecting their spirit into the digital Weave where something ancient may already be waiting. A ripperdoc, fixer, mercenary, or corporate Emulator runner drowning in debt. An Air Nomad who has rejected cybernetics entirely, remaining one of the few souls still fully connected to the spirits and uniquely capable of healing what technology has stolen. Themes: Cyberpunk noir Corporate corruption Spiritual horror Identity and humanity The price of progress Hope in a broken world This is a campaign about difficult choices with permanent consequences. Expect street-level jobs, corporate conspiracies, spirits hiding in fiber-optic cables, desperate people trying to reclaim what they've lost, and quiet moments between the action that remind everyone what's worth fighting for. The central question is simple: What are you willing to trade away... and can you ever get it back? System: Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (custom Avatar conversion) No prior Savage Worlds experience required. No Avatar knowledge required. All rules and setting information will be provided. The game is fast, cinematic, beginner-friendly, and focused on character-driven storytelling. "Chrome is easy to buy. Getting your soul back takes a lot longer." This game costs $20 per session

Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Laws, society, magic, none of that exists yet, or if it does you've never heard of such a thing. You are simply a nomadic hunter or a gatherer, that has just always been the only way to live. Maybe you used to travel in a herd, but for one reason or another, you are no longer with such group. You each manage to stumble upon a group of people who seemed to be content staying in one place, with permanent shelters, a system of telling each other what to do, and some kind of new concept where you can make your own food, which they call "Fameng", where you don't have to hunt or gather for anything, the food just grows out of the ground over time. As you are slowly accepted into this non-nomads, it very quickly becomes clear that their society stems from a strange bright red flower called "fa'ler". Fa'ler can bring harm to those who touch it, but they have found a way to use it to build and maintain their entire way of life. However, they haven't quite figured out where it came from, and while they've kept it burning for many days and many nights, it has started to shrink and die down. Soon it will be gone, and these people will completely lose their fundamental existence and starve. Having spent much longer as traditional nomads, you are the only ones truly fit to embark on a long journey to find the knowledge to bring back the fa'ler. You know that many days ago, a person appeared who could make the fa'ler just appear out of thin air with just a thought; they taught the people of this place what it can do and made it for them, although they didn't their methods or process, but it involved something they called "najeek". Now you have to venture out to find some way to learn about other Fa'ler or najeek and save this unconventional, but innocent people.

A ragtag band of locals find themselves embroiled in a strange adventure involving an unhinged warforged, a psychotic docent, and a plot seemingly involving a nefarious branch of House Cannith. Your mentor, the unhinged warforged named Trace 7, has disappeared, but she left you with a mission to find a way into a secret facility in the underbelly of Sharn to discover the secrets of this organization. Can you find your way in and discover what House Cannith is up to? This game uses the Pathfinder for Savage Worlds Ruleset and Kristian Serrano's Eberron for Savage Worlds adaptation hosted on the Fantasy Grounds VTT, which is now free to play. All resources will be supplied upon acceptance. This is an ongoing campaign with five players currently. I'll accept up to one more. Spinward Vanguard: a SAVAGE WORLD punk space opera

Game starts November 29th. The worldbuilding is mostly based on Stellaris (a toolboxy 4X video game), but I have zoomed into the gritty aftermath of the galaxy where every endgame crisis has already happened and the political structure has collapsed. The Stormtossed Commune At the start of the campaign, players will belong to the Stormtossed Commune. We are fanatic egalitarian and xenophile space pirates operating with the "shared burdens" civic. The Commune was founded 100 years ago by pirates who rebelled against a slaver megacorp called Minamar Specialized Industries. It is currently led by our First Speaker, Nightshade, a non-binary punk rocker who, in addition to governing, takes on a lot of odd jobs around the commune, from veterinary medicine to spaceship maintenance (and always seems to know exactly what they are doing). The Setting & The Threat The Stormtossed founded their commune in a remote location on the planet Breakwater. It sits on the edge of The Indigo, a storm of unnavigable psionic chaos that destroyed a star-faring civilization of space elves called the Isilfar Republic. Now, The Indigo has cleared, revealing the ruins of that society and its incredibly valuable "pre-tech" technology from before the collapse that current manufacturing infrastructure can no longer produce. A megacorp alliance called the Prosperity Axis (including Minamar, Harmonium, and Providence) is looking to exploit the newly opened Isilfar Spinward Frontier. The Stormtossed are in their way, sitting on a planet that would make a highly valuable beachhead. Your Mission Nightshade has gathered a crew of adventurous experts to go into the frontier and find lost technology that could help the Stormtossed resist and disrupt the megacorps and their exploitation. Captain Bax will be leading them as captain of The Vanguard.

GURPS Conan

Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
[Twin Cities] [Wednesday, 6/17, 6pm CT] Conan - Queen of the Red City Trying to get some additional players for this game that I'm running in person at the Wentworth Library in West St. Paul. The system is **GURPS** (for more info, see here: [https://pages.drivethrurpg.com/gurps-guide-generic-role-playing-system/](https://pages.drivethrurpg.com/gurps-guide-generic-role-playing-system/)), the setting is the **Hyborian Age (aka the world of Conan)** and the scenario is a jungle sandbox adventure called **Queen of the Red City**, complete with giant reptiles, wicked shamans, pirate ghosts, and, of course, fabulous treasure. I ran a truncated version at a local con, using pre-generated characters, and it was a hit. This time, I want to run the full module and do a true session zero, which should be an absolute blast. Get in on the ground floor! We've got three players on board, and openings for three more. Start date is **Wednesday, 6/17, from 6-9pm**, and the location is a conference room at the newly reopened **Wentworth Library in West St. Paul**, by the Wal-Mart. Shoot me a Discord DM if you're interested; my handle is **disreputablewizard**. **ABOUT ME:** I'm in my 40s, married, one kiddo, and a 20 yr old cat who may yet outlive me. I've been GMing for a few years now, primarily Call of Cthulhu and 5e. I started running GURPS regularly a few months ago and love it to pieces--it has an elegance and a rationality to it that are inspiring to me. All adults are welcome at my table, regardless of age, experience, background, orientation, etc.

I’m looking for one or two players for an in person GURPS 4e campaign set in Verdune, a plant-punk space opera where biotech replaced machinery, psychic powers replaced computers, and the galaxy is full of alien politics, living weapons, warped hyperspace, and things that should have stayed lost. What the setting is Biotech ships, psychic communication, living gear Space opera with weird aliens, piracy, war, diplomacy, salvage, and lovecraft at the edges Humanity is new to the galactic stage after surviving a devastating alien invasion Multiple playable species, each with strong lore, real social friction, and different mechanical identity Tone sits somewhere between space adventure, political drama, and cosmic danger What kind of game this is This is a roleplay-heavy, setting-rich GURPS campaign with room for investigation, negotiation, exploration, survival, and combat. Violence is always a choice, but only one of several. This is not just a dungeon crawl in space. The setting is built to support crews, mercenaries, troubleshooters, smugglers, diplomats, scavengers, and dangerous weirdos. Players will start as prisoners during an escape. What to expect A detailed original setting Strong faction conflict Alien cultures that actually feel alien Psychic powers with real risk Living technology that can be bargained with, manipulated, or betrayed Mature themes handled with boundaries and common sense Content note Verdune includes adult themes and a harsh setting. Oppression, slavery, piracy, coercion, and brutality exist in the world. Graphic violence, polotics, and sexualility are is not the focus, and anything sensitive can be handled with lines/veils and fade-to-black.  Players I want People willing to learn or engage with GURPS Players who like strong setting flavor Players who make characters that can function in a group Players who enjoy making choices in a messy world Players who want their characters to feel complex, real, lived in. New to GURPS is fine if you’re willing to learn. Game will take place in Tannersville Pennsylvania. in person. Tuesday nights. If interested, reply or DM me, or send me a message on discord: thebluelynx

The Arctis Expedition

System: GURPS 4e Platform: Discord + Foundry (with TotM when appropriate) Timezone: EST Schedule: Weekly Sundays 11am EST Players needed: 1 Start date: Sunday January 11th 11am EST Age requirement: 18+ Premise The Kingdom of Valtara has war on the horizon. One of the princesses of an important noble family has devised a scheme to secure massive funding before the fighting begins. Long ago, an island far to the south held a great kingdom. It was flush with wealth, magic, and resources that any nation on the brink of war would kill for. That kingdom collapsed roughly 1,500 years ago and has sat in ruins ever since. The catch is that the island is a freezing nightmare, and any attempt to exploit it needs two parts: 1 - A shore fort staffed with soldiers, medical staff, and a knight overseeing the operation. The fort stores tools, food, and weapons, and it receives shipments from the mainland. 2 - A smaller, independent field team meant to push inland through snow and ruin, locate points of interest, extract valuables, and deal with whatever still lives there. You are that second group. The princess has recruited a small, competent party to trek the frozen interior and bring back the wealth needed to fund the coming war. Game Focus This game heavily focuses on survival, and resource tracking will be vital. Expect: Planning expeditions (loadouts, rations, tools, fuel, medical supplies) Traveling through deep snow and harsh cold Bad weather (whiteouts, storms) impacting navigation and safety Encounters with snowy creatures and other inhabitants The pressure of making sure each expedition brings enough food to stay well fed—and enough margin to get back Game Tone and Vibe Gritty exploration and logistics Risk is real, and smart play is rewarded Mission loop: prep at fort → expedition inland → return with loot/info → next push Character creation (details finalized after group forms) GURPS 4e. I’ll help with char-gen and can provide advice and recommendations. Expect “competent expedition members,” not joke builds. Skills like Survival, Navigation, Hiking, First Aid, Observation, and relevant combat/utility skills will matter. Characters will be 150pts with -75 disadvantage limit and -5 quirk Magery Limit 3 TL3 Basic Set + Magic, plus additional books by group consensus (GM approval). I am looking for Warriors, Explorers, Survivalists and a Mage would likely be helpful, but not required. Table expectations 18+ Reliable attendance and communication Cooperative party (survival game; characters need reasons to work together) How to apply (DM me) Apply on the google form using this link If you have any questions feel free to comment here or add me on discord @ ophiss. (period included)
