Find D&D and tabletop RPG groups in Chicago

Game starts November 29th. The worldbuilding is mostly based on Stellaris (a toolboxy 4X video game), but I have zoomed into the gritty aftermath of the galaxy where every endgame crisis has already happened and the political structure has collapsed. The Stormtossed Commune At the start of the campaign, players will belong to the Stormtossed Commune. We are fanatic egalitarian and xenophile space pirates operating with the "shared burdens" civic. The Commune was founded 100 years ago by pirates who rebelled against a slaver megacorp called Minamar Specialized Industries. It is currently led by our First Speaker, Nightshade, a non-binary punk rocker who, in addition to governing, takes on a lot of odd jobs around the commune, from veterinary medicine to spaceship maintenance (and always seems to know exactly what they are doing). The Setting & The Threat The Stormtossed founded their commune in a remote location on the planet Breakwater. It sits on the edge of The Indigo, a storm of unnavigable psionic chaos that destroyed a star-faring civilization of space elves called the Isilfar Republic. Now, The Indigo has cleared, revealing the ruins of that society and its incredibly valuable "pre-tech" technology from before the collapse that current manufacturing infrastructure can no longer produce. A megacorp alliance called the Prosperity Axis (including Minamar, Harmonium, and Providence) is looking to exploit the newly opened Isilfar Spinward Frontier. The Stormtossed are in their way, sitting on a planet that would make a highly valuable beachhead. Your Mission Nightshade has gathered a crew of adventurous experts to go into the frontier and find lost technology that could help the Stormtossed resist and disrupt the megacorps and their exploitation. Captain Bax will be leading them as captain of The Vanguard.

Hi. We are looking for a DM for our campaign. We are three sessions in and one of our players is leaving due to scheduling issues. I would like to transition from being DM to being a player. The DM role just isn't suited for me. Everyone is very nice and friendly and the group gets along well. We would love to add you to our party

Father and son looking to start a weekly game.  Open to all folks.  Beginners welcome! Open on systems, but thinking about DnD  5e/5.5e or Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. In terms of a campaign, I would like to see what folks are interested in and go from there. If interested send a message!

Hey I'm Omar 24/M and looking for some people in the Chicago area who wanna play D&D whether you're new or experienced as long as you're enthusiastic about playing I'm cool with whatever. I've taken about a year break from dming and almost all of that was on roll20, I haven't played in person dnd since I was in high school so I'm excited to jump back in and hopefully have a long term campaign where we actually start from level 1 and make it to the end. As for location I can't host so we'd probably play in a library or something like that and time would be anytime after 4:00 PM CST on the weekend preferably but I could swing weekdays too depending on everyone's schedule

Hi all! My name is Rob. I'm looking to put together a friendly bi-weekly DnD game in Lincoln Park, Chicago. I can host and DM. The preferred game day would be Saturday evening. I'm looking for low-key chill people who are looking for a fun healthy way to spend a Saturday evening. I am sober, so only non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. We would use Discord for all communication. New players are welcome! I am a graduate student with a very busy schedule, so I plan on running official modules. For those interested, I have a collection of miniatures and a battle mat, which will be incorporated into the campaign. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSey6YusjQ9ykzs1dSCspDenVrMZ0tiCYYQ954MHBzYxmExjzg/viewform?usp=publish-editor

Hello all! My group is currently looking for one or two more players to join us for a weekly Saturday D&D game @ 6pm. As of right now, we are planning on running the adventure from the Avantris: Crooked Moon setting. It has a really interesting and haunting folk lore vibe to it, so if you’re into horror and Halloween aesthetics, you’re in the right place! Some key points! - Before our game starts, we would like that our group meets ahead of time to make sure everyone clicks. - Our group is a mix of beginners and experienced players, so if you’re brand new or you’ve played a bunch, still feel free to reach out! - Please be 21+!

Hi, my name is Butch, and I'm DMing an old old 2E campaign (called The Night Below) that I'm adapting to 5.5E.  I have 3 players already, looking for 2 or 3 more.  We are adult friends that like to get together and have fun.  The PCs are currently at level 3 (close to level 4) : a Human Warlock/Paladin, a Shadar-kai Gloomstalker Ranger, and a Dragonborn Warlock).  We'll do 1 or 2 more levels above ground, and then the plot moves almost exclusively to the Underdark.  This is an old-school campaign, so there'll be lots of combat.  Currently, they have no dedicated tank, Cleric, or Wizard (a Light Cleric would be a great fit).  Good-ish cooperative PCs (and players) only please.  No PVP, murder-hobos, thats-what-my-character-would-do, I-was-Evil-the-whole-time assholes need apply.  Experienced mature players preferred, but we're noob friendly if you're enthusiastic want to hang with a fun group.  Let me know if you're interested in joining our group.  Discord ButchO, reddit u/JetScreamerBaby.
