D&D One Shot day @ Arcane Forge

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
One table, one adventure, one afternoon — no campaign, no commitment. D&D One-Shot Day brings a set of self-contained adventures to the Forge, each one beginning and ending in a single session. Pre-made characters are provided, so you can turn up with nothing but curiosity and walk out having saved (or doomed) a kingdom. New to D&D? This is the easiest way in — our DMs will teach you the rules at the table. Played for years? Pick a table, meet new people, and try a character you'd never commit a whole campaign to. 📍  We have 2 Masters ready to run it! Rijnstraat 25-H, Amsterdam · Saturday 24 October ticket for 7.99

Sea Wolves: Salt & Sorecery

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
The old world has drowned. Life carries on across floating settlements and scattered islands, while lost civilisations lie beneath the waves. Ships carry stories, supplies, and strangers between communities built from the remnants of what came before. Some seek a fresh start; others search for answers in the wreckage of the past. Ancient relics, unfamiliar shores, and things stirring in the deep await beyond the horizon. Fancy exploring a flooded fantasy world and making some friends along the way? I’m putting together a tabletop group in Amsterdam (Czaar Peterstraat, 15 min from CS). Organised every other week (depending on everyone’s interest and availability) Snacks & good vibes included. Sea Wolves: Salt & Sorcery is a post-apocalyptic fantasy story sandbox about finding our place in the world. Expect lots of roleplaying, collective storytelling and rewarding combat encounters, played with paper minis on a digital map. Rescue, recover, protect, escape: 'defeat all enemies' is almost never the main objective. What do you find in that wreck? Who do you recognise in the harbour? Sometimes you tell me, other times I'll tell you. Character motivations and relationships are at the core of our story. Follow a mystery, help a settlement, chase your ambition, pet a turtle? The ocean has plenty of room for adventure, mystery, friendship, humour, and dubious schemes. Ik spreek gewoon Nederlands, but we'll play mostly in English. There’s room to have fun, be creative and express yourself. I like doing voices, you're encouraged (but never expected) to get goofy and do so as well. I’d love an inclusive, diverse group where everyone feels comfortable being themselves. Come curious and be kind. Boundaries are always respected, no questions asked. New players are welcome!

Dungeons and Dragons campaign Amsterdam

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Hello my name is David and I’m looking for 2 additional players to join an ongoing Dungeons & Dragons campaign. 2 previous players have quit the campaign. We play twice a month on Friday evenings, starting around 18:00, usually ending somewhere between 22:00 – 00:00. Or on Saturdays starting around 13:00 ish I’m a new Dungeon Master, but I have a lot of experience with Warhammer. I’ve also played as a party member in 2 campaigns before. I’m Dutch myself, but I’m specifically looking for English-speaking players for this campaign. Campaign vibe: The setting takes place in a dark, underground world centered around a missing dwarven empire. The environment is slowly being overtaken by corrupted forest and cave spirits, Expect a grimdark atmosphere, with a focus on mystery, danger, and a world that’s clearly out of balance. If you're interested and want a bit more information about the campaign feel free to ask. I would prefer people who have a bit of experience in Dungeons and Dragons Feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM if you’re interested.

Pathfinder 2e campaign for new or experienced

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
Hello folks! I’m in the process of setting up a new Pathfinder 2e campaign. Unfortunately one of my four players can no longer join, so I’m looking to fill that spot. Except for one player, the party has no experience with Pathfinder, so we’re currently running a starter adventure from levels 1–3 to get to know each other and explore the system a bit. After that we’ll see how everyone feels about it, and then potentially move on to a bigger level 1–10 adventure. If you want to look it up beforehand: we’ll start with Rusthenge, and possibly afterwards run Seasons of Ghosts. So knowledge of Pathfinder (system or setting) isn’t required, though experience with D&D or other systems definitely helps. I’m more than happy to explain everything to anyone interested, and I’ll 100% help with building characters. Don’t stress about making “wrong” choices either—that’s exactly why we’re doing this intro adventure. Practical details We’ll play at my home in Baarn. The plan is to run relatively long sessions on Saturdays, covering the afternoon and possibly part of the evening. In any case, I think it’d be nice to have dinner together. There’s also the possibility of being picked up from nearby train stations, and staying overnight if needed or desired. We’ll play about once every two weeks, but with longer sessions it’s not a big deal if there’s more time between sessions occasionally. My housemate is also playing, and while he understands Dutch well and can speak it decently, we’ll play entirely in English. I’ll be using Foundry and connecting it to a TV, while the party sits around the table. Exactly how that will work is something we’ll all be discovering together. If you’re interested or have questions, feel free to ask here or send me a message on Discord, where you can find me as Roranars.

The Lost Mines of Phandelver (partially homebrew)

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
- Variatie in speelstijlen. ---  Hi everyone, What: Beginner module called The Lost Mines of Phandelver Who: Beginner players Where: Amsterdam-Zuid, my apartment (or at your place if you live nearby) When: Tuesday evenings; frequency and duration to be decided together with the group Why: I’d like to start DMing again, but I don’t currently have the time to set up an entirely new campaign. That’s why I want to guide a new group of newbies through a DnD module I know like the back of my hand. I’d also like to meet some people in the area with similar interests! Language: Dutch / English About me: I’m 30 and work full-time in information security; before that I was a therapist. At one point, I wrote a (fantasy-ish) book while living in a cabin in the woods in Sweden for a year. My nerd hobbies are DnD (including painting miniatures), and I also enjoy normal human things like strength training, hiking in nature, cooking, laughing uncontrollably, and having deep conversations about philosophy and politics. During DnD sessions, I find it important that everyone feels safe, that people are willing to cooperate (also in character), and that we can have a good laugh. What you get: - A free and enthusiastic DM with two completed campaigns of experience - A fun campaign, tailored by me, suitable for beginners - A DM who doesn’t have all rulebooks memorized. The game is complex, and we’ll learn together. When in doubt, we follow the rule of cool What I’m looking for: - Beginner players — even if you know absolutely nothing about DnD, you’re welcome - Empathetic players who are considerate of each other (and me). Any form of racism, discrimination, exclusion, sexism, or other inappropriate behavior (in or out of game) will not be tolerated - Players willing to step into their character. You don’t have to be perfect, but you should be open to learning Players who are okay creating a good-aligned character with clear motivations to engage with the story - Players who can commit to agreements (unless there’s illness or an emergency). If you can’t make it, communicate it well in advance. I put a lot of time into preparing sessions and won’t accept last-minute cancellations without good reason. We either play together, or not at all - Players who have not played The Lost Mines of Phandelver before and have no prior knowledge of the story - Variety in playstyles — it’s great if each player has their own strengths - Players who avoid meta-gaming and min-maxing - Players who accept that, while discussion is always welcome, the DM has the final say - Preferably players aged 19+ - Preferably a mixed group of people - Willingness to briefly meet or have a video call to see if we click - Preferably no applications from multiple people at once (e.g. couples, friends, groups, classmates, etc.) Interested? Send me a private message with: - Who you are - Your experience with DnD so far - Why you’d like to join If I receive more than four applications, I’ll select the candidates I think fit best with me and each other. Once the four players are finalized, I’ll schedule a session 0. We’ll discuss expectations, ground rules, and I’ll introduce the world to you. Hope to hear from you!

Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
Phandelver and below the shattered obelisk of Curse of Strahd komen hierbij bijvoorbeeld bij mij op.

[DnD5.5] [Amsterdam] Steampunk campaign

Game System: D&D 5.5e (2024) with additional homebrew rules for magic / science Group type: Face-to-face Experience: All Theme: Steampunk mixed with High Fantasy elements Location/Timezone: Amsterdam, the Netherlands (CEST) Schedule: Every two weeks on Saturday or Sunday 14:00 Sessions played: 25 Roles sought: Player (currently 4 players, 1 spot open) Game style: Casual sandbox with combat, roleplay, exploration, mysteries, crafting and bastion rolls. Expect some chaos and out of character discussions. Welcome to Morea! A world where Steampunk goes up against High Fantasy! WorldAnvil - Introduction to Morea I'm an experienced GM (40M) looking for some more players to join my homebrew campaign. Currently we have 4 players and I have room for one more. The players are primarily looking for a "face" or leader type character that can handle social situations. Premade characters are available in DNDBeyond upon joining the campaign or some special character sheets for those that want to play the custom classes. We play in-person in Amsterdam-Zuidoost (Humtum) in a doggy daycare / hotel so there are random dogs around! About the campaign setting ‘In a nutshell’: Set in a post-apocalyptic world and where the surviving nations are choosing different path to recover. The Gods themselves have disappeared and are presumed dead or destroyed. Divine magic draws on the primal forces that used to power the Gods. War has broken out between the forces of science and magic. Currently, the players are in the Frontier of Olmerrrec, a jungle setting with some wasteland areas filled with ancient ruins. A small port town Brightwater serves as a home base. The players have founded their own country and there are occasional decisions on diplomacy and politics. Current quest: Find out about the City of Serpents, a Yuan-Ti city beyond the jungles in the wasteland who kidnap people from their homesteads for ritual sacrifice. They worship a strange entity called Zehir, the Lord of Venom. The table is beginner friendly and of course, also LGBTQ+ friendly. I make sure my table is a safe place for all! One very important note: we play at a doggy hotel at Amsterdam Zuidoost hosted by one of the players so there can be bunch of random dogs around. 📜 How to Join: Send me a direct message or reply to this post

Tabletop gaming in Amsterdam

Amsterdam has an international, open-minded tabletop scene to match the city itself. Game stores, cafés and bars host regular campaigns and game nights, and you’ll find tables running in Dutch, English and a handful of other languages.

D&D is the easiest table to find, with Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Warhammer and indie RPGs all well represented. Many groups are made up of expats and newcomers, so it’s a great city to find a game even if you’ve just moved here - no prior experience needed.
