Hi! I’'m a 31-year-old Dungeon Master from the Netherlands with about 11 years of D&D experience. Over the years I’ve run around 20 one-shots and spent roughly four years as the “forever DM” for a monthly long-term campaign. As a DM, I care far more about memorable stories than winning encounters. My favorite moments are the ones where players become invested in their characters, build meaningful relationships with NPCs, face difficult moral choices, and create stories they’ll still be talking about months later. Combat absolutely has its place, but I don’t believe it’s the only—or even the best—way to create tension. Sometimes a conversation can be far more nerve-racking than a dragon. My previous players often told me that one of my strengths was making everyone feel involved. I enjoy weaving each character’s backstory into the campaign so every player has moments where the spotlight naturally falls on them. Rules matter, but I firmly believe they serve the story, not the other way around. If bending a rule slightly creates a more memorable moment for everyone at the table, I’m usually happy to do so. Although I’m Dutch, I always run my campaigns in English. In my experience, English simply fits fantasy worlds better. The language lends itself naturally to immersive descriptions, emotional roleplay, and epic storytelling, while we happily switch back to Dutch whenever we’re chatting out of character. I’m looking for a friendly, respectful group that enjoys roleplay, character development, collaborative storytelling, and having a good laugh together. Ideally, we’d play about once a month. New and experienced players are equally welcome as long as you’re excited to tell an unforgettable story together.
