I'm a first-time GM so please bear with me, I am familiar with 3.5 as a player though and would prefer to run the game in this as opposed to 5e. If the group agrees in session 0, I am willing to change to 5e. (I am just as familiar with 5e if not a little less than 3.5) Looking to run a homebrewed setting on an island surrounded by a magical storm conjured by a dragon "king." Will meet on discord for VC/Text chatting during the game, held on roll20 as the VTT. My discord user is: beanureeves (Display name: Beanu Reeves) can elaborate more on the discord and in session 0 (just be sure to message me for the link)

I'm looking for one more player. I have four great players, but one of them doesn't always make it (not his fault), so I'd like one more to keep the group whole when he doesn't show. The game takes place on a recently discovered continent, and largely revolves around exploring it. There's three permanent settlements with fun things going on, stuff on the moon, devils, fure giants,  all sorts of fun. The group is 5th level, so you'll start at 5th level too. Anything from the official 3.5 releases is fine to use (except for Tome of Battle and Savage Species), and there's a few 3rd party books you can use too. The game is on Saturdays at 3pm EST, we use Discord and Owlbear Rodeo, and I have a form fillable PDF character sheet we're using. The idea is that you came to this new land to make a new life for yourself. Why is entirely up to you. I've purposefully left the "old world" as vague as possible so you can come up with pretty much any kind of character you want. All I ask is no royalty. My only real requirement is that you have a decent microphone, and if you have a lot of noise going on around you put yourself on push to talk. I'm kind of deaf and have a hard enough time hearing as it is. Just fill out this form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdTnByZqYY4moS2756YCb8R1y6ldf1ucoMc9FlZ-k6uuWInvw/viewform?usp=header

Age of Worms 3.5 (in the Forgotten Realms)

We are currently looking for an ECL 11 character to join the party. Ideally, this would be a skill-focused build with trapfinding and reliable damage output against a wide range of enemy types, including undead, elementals, constructs, oozes, and similar threats. Examples of suitable concepts include builds based around bard, ranger, factotum, or similar classes. We are not looking for full casters, though half-casters are fine. Application Process: 1. The applicant reads all the information below in full. 2. The applicant completes the application and submits their responses. 3. The DM reviews the application and arranges a discord call to provide feedback and discuss house rules. 4. The DM shares the 34-page player's guide, which includes the house rules in greater detail. 5. If the applicant is still interested, the applicant submits their myth-weaver URL for their Trapfinder character sheet. At this stage, only the full character build is needed; equipment and items are not required yet. 6. The DM reviews the character sheet for legality and optimization. 7. The applicant enters their inventory into the Google Sheet. Subject to DM's approval. 8. The applicant builds their character in Foundry, with DM assistance as needed Age of Worms Adventure Path The Age of Worms adventure path is structured into 12 chapters, each presenting distinct challenges, locations, and quests for the characters to embark on. With an estimated game time of 15-30 hours per chapter, the campaign spans from the characters' humble beginnings at 1st level to their epic culmination at 21st level. Without giving away any specific plot details, the campaign revolves around a dark and ancient evil force that threatens the world. The characters find themselves embroiled in a series of events and quests that lead them to confront this malevolent entity known as Kyuss, the Wormgod. The players will encounter cultists, undead creatures, and other foes aligned with Kyuss, all while unraveling a complex web of intrigue and secrets. Scheduling. Weekly, Mondays @ 7:00 PM EST (GMT-5) for 3.5 hours We schedule an entire month's worth of sessions in advance and work around people's schedules. We only play if everyone is able to attend. If one person can't make it, we reschedule another day that week. If that is not possible, then we do not play that week. We do sessions to make up for missed ones and occasionally do extra sessions if everyone is up for it. If a player cannot attend a scheduled game (something comes up) they will try to give as much advance notice as possible. No shows are heavily frowned upon, the first time is forgiven, but a second time is not. So if something happens, you must communicate as people's time are valuable. We have a committed and serious group of players, with 71 sessions played since November 2024. - We are looking for someone with enough flexibility to play on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday if scheduling conflicts come up. - We are looking for someone who is punctual for scheduled sessions and communicates clearly and reliably. - We are primarily looking for players whose time zones are in or reasonably close to EST. Scheduling is one of the biggest challenges in keeping a game running, and we need players whose time zones allow for some flexibility. A large gap makes it much harder when sessions run late or need to be shifted by 1 to 2 hours.  Highly Lethal Campaign You are expected to optimize. Those who aren't will either die quickly or be outshined by the other party members. Items may be destroyed as per written combat tactics. Just like how players have access to most books, the monsters do as well. They are improved to perform their written tactics more effectively. - If you fear or get upset by character death and items being destroyed, then this campaign may not be a good fit for you. - PC deaths so far: 2 in chapter one, 3 in chapter two, 0 in chapter three, 1 in chapter four, 5 in chapter five. Serious Tone We use spreadsheets to track WBL, encumbrance and loot distribute distribution. We use a buyback and downtime day system that is logged through Discord. - If you're looking for a casual game or prefer a laid-back, low-bookkeeping style, this campaign may not be a good fit for you. - We're looking for someone who is responsive and reliable with between-session tasks, such as logging downtime days and buyback, updating character sheets after leveling, and updating character tokens in Foundry. - If your availability is so limited that you can only check Discord or response to messages on one day of the week, this campaign may not be a good fit for you. Heavily Modified The adventure path has been adapted from Greyhawk to Forgotten Realms 1374 DR, with changes to the plot, creatures, and NPCs. There is a 34-page player's guide that covers the house rules. Some of these changes may feel familiar if you know the adjustments Paizo made to improve 3.5e, but these are my own interpretations and revisions. In general, martials characters are buffed, spellcasters are mostly unchanged, and obvious abuses/cheese are not allowed. - If you're not already comfortable with 3.5e rules, you may find the system and house rule changes be overwhelming. Some House Rules in use: - Appraise checks are used for finding buyers to sell party loot. Results affect the sell price. - Open Lock is removed and is done through Disable Device. - Evocation spell rebalancing. - Mundane armor, weapons, templates and special material rebalancing - Fighter bonus feat rebalancing (prereqs, merging of feats, scaling in power); feats such as two-weapon fighting, weapon focus, precise shot, etc. - Some feats are turned into Skill Tricks. - Realistic limits on the size of carried weapons and items will be observed. - Heavy armor and heavy load causes fatigue after long periods. - Downtime days (DTD) are awarded per session. Spent as a party that advances the calendar. - Resurrection material component costs are lessened.  Resurrection is paid from your character's personal wealth. - Raised characters do not lose a level, they gain resurrection sickness (similar to negative levels) that is temporary. - Players are locked into roles (cleric, arcanist, bruiser, trapfinder/scoundrel), unless there is a multiple PK or a TPK, they may switch roles. - Inventory, treasure and loot distribution is carefully tracked in google sheets. - Buyback system in place for loot distribution. Buyback at 50%. - Party loot is split into 5 shares (1 for each PC and 1 for party fund). - Party fund is for party purchases, must be agreed upon each member. - Sharing/gifting wealth to other players is not allowed. - Action points are used to reduce lethality due to bad luck. - Alternate turning rules are used due to large amounts of undead. Tracking fleeing enemies suck. - Bloodied status, enemies are blooded at 50% hp. - Combat maneuvers; aim, counter-attack, play dead, out-of-turn dodge. Your Role as the Trapfinder For balanced party comp, each player has their own role they fulfil within the party (bruiser, cleric, arcanist, trapfinder). You will fill the Trapfinder role. The Trapfinder prevents party deaths from mechanical and magical traps by specializing in the only two essential skills in the game: Search and Disable Device, supported by the Trapfinding class ability. While locks and doors can often be bypassed by force, some published modules include deadly traps that demand a dedicated trapfinder to avoid instant party wipes. Having spells that could mitigate these traps doesn’t replace the need for a reliable specialist, as those spells may not always be available. Character Creation Guidelines - ECL 11 (Max Race LA+1, No templates for new characters) - 32-pt buy for ability scores - Standard WBL (no single item exceeding 1/4 WBL, no combined items for new characters) - No multiclass penalty - Flaws and traits allowed - HP: either roll your HD (official rolls in Discord) or take the average - Official 3.5e sources are allowed, including Dragon Magazine and Forgotten Realms 3.0/3.5 material, except for CP and XPH, homebrew, third-party, and other campaign-specific books are not allowed.  Considerations when building your Trapfinder - You are expected to optimize. - You should have both melee and ranged options and be able to deal damage to contribute. -If you get sneak attack, be aware that there are undead, constructs, oozes, elementals. It is especially undead heavy. You should plan accordingly. - Open Lock is replaced by Disable Device. - Waterdeep has mark up prices on everything. Gather Information is used to purchase items at normal 1.0 rates Current Party Composition They are high powered and very optimized: - (bruiser role) LE Goliath Cloistered Cleric 1/Fighter 2/Crusader 3/Ruby Knight Vindicator 4 - (arcanist role) CE Gray Elf Beguiler 6/Mindbender 1/Shadowcraft Mage 5 - (cleric role) N Arcane Gnome Archivist 5/Divine Oracle 2/Thaumaterge 5 Application Link: https://forms.gle/a8PdPcitb1NTZMyF7

D&D 3.5 Exploring the New World

I think my 5th player spot might be cursed.  So here's the deal. It's a D&D 3.5 game, about exploring a new land. Every Saturday, 3pm EST, Discord and Owlbear Rodeo, sessions are usually about 3 hours. I've got four players already. We have a human rogue, human sorcerer, elf rogue, and elf ranger. We had another player drop out. So I'm looking for one more. I like having five. I'm looking for a more outgoing player, most of my people are new to D&D, and are still a little timid about the roleplaying part. So I need someone to show them the way, but at the same time won't hog the spotlight when it's someone else's turn to shine. You don't have to be familiar with 3.5 to play. Pretty much everything from the official books is okay. You'll be starting at 2nd level. The world itself is small (right now anyway), only one permanent settlement, and an entire land to explore. There are signs that a civilization was once here, but there are no native intelligent species. Wonder what's up with that? Maybe you can figure it out. Or maybe you want to find a nice spot and start your own town. You could do that too. You can do pretty much anything you want. I have purposefully left the "old world" as vague as possible so that you can create pretty much any kind of character with any kind of background you'd like. The only thing I ask is no royalty. If you want to be a King or a Queen you'll have to start from scratch and found your own dynasty.  I didn't think we were dealing with "mature" subjects but apparently we are. There was a slave market in a bandit camp, and our dearly departed player didn't like that (he wasn't even there mind you, he just read the chat afterwards), so I guess if that kind of thing bothers you, you should pass. They didn't even buy any slaves, in fact I think they're hatching a plan to free some of them next week. My only real rules are: have a decent microphone, and put yourself on push to talk if you have a lot of noise going on around you. But yeah, if you're interested or have any questions, feel free to comment or DM me.

I have been developing a new system based primarily on D&D 3.5, but includes many aspects from 5e, OSR systems, and original parts of my design. Simply put: it needs testing, and I want to know how it feels. Feedback is the most important for me, and as a forever DM, I plan to have a fun and interesting story along the way. We are currently running v6.1 (6th major series of design updates, and some tweaks after that). Soon enough, with everyone's help, I hope to get the game published, so please do not distribute anything without my consent.

An Artificer's Table

Looking for 2-3 more players in Central Florida, we're practically at the cusp of three counties, Levy, Marion, and Citrus!  No set time yet, we can totally get that all planned out! More than likely an evening time campaign (think 6-7pm) A campaign has not been chosen/plotted, though there is homebrew being planned. Pretty sure we are doing 3.5e or 5e but I will ask the dm again. Place will be a little north of Inglis, FL. It's a private area so that can be revealed in communication later.  If you're in SW Ocala it's about a 40-50 minute drive!  Cedar Key is also 40 minutes. Chiefland is roughly 30 minutes. Crystal River is about 20 minutes.

Looking to form a D&D group here in the Portland or even Gresham, OR area. I've been DM'ing for years and would love to find someone to DM for my wife and myself, as well as get a couple other players to the table. We can host or travel to the group depending on the distance! Prefer 3.5e, but could do 5e if need be.

Forgotten Realms: City of the Spider Queen

Parkersburg WV & Surrounding Area 🕷️ Looking for Players — D&D 3.5: City of the Spider Queen 🕷️ I’m putting together a D&D 3.5 campaign built around City of the Spider Queen, with additional DM flavor layered on top. This will use the module as a foundation, but it won’t be a strict page-by-page run — the goal is to expand the story, deepen the setting, and let player choices matter. The campaign is designed to run from level 1 all the way to level 20. ⸻ 🎲 Game style & intent • This is a story-driven, exploration-heavy campaign with real stakes • We’ll follow the rules, but we’re not here to rules-lawyer or slow the game down • Rulings will prioritize flow, fairness, and fun • Creative ideas and character concepts are encouraged — if something is unusual, we’ll talk it through rather than shut it down The focus is on good table energy, teamwork, and immersion, not “gotcha” play or hyper-optimization. ⸻ 🧙 Character creation & onboarding • System: D&D 3.5 • Point-buy for stats • Character options are open, with guidance to keep things balanced and setting-appropriate • We’ve already begun Session Zero discussions • All supporting materials (house rules, character creation guide, source references, etc.) are organized in a shared Google Drive Everyone will have access to the same information so expectations are clear from the start. ⸻ 🖥️ How we’re playing • In-person play using a large digital display • Physical minis with digital maps, lighting, and fog-of-war • A mix of classic tabletop feel with modern tools for atmosphere and clarity ⸻ 💬 Discord & next steps We also have a Discord server set up for: • Campaign discussion • Session Zero coordination • Character ideas and questions • Sharing documents and updates If you’re interested and want to learn more, you’re welcome to join the Discord and chat things through before committing. ⸻ 📣 Interested? If this sounds like your kind of game: • Comment or message me directly • I’ll send you the Discord invite and additional details Spots will be limited — I’m looking for players who want to commit to a long-term campaign and a good table experience. 🕷️ The Underdark is waiting. 🕷️ I plan to continue with 3 other campaigns after this one that all will be a continuation of this…

The Lost Tales

Trouble is brewing in Talwyn. Blight spreads unchecked across the farmlands, goblins raid the trade routes, and whispers speak of a rogue wizard hiding in the shadows and twisting the fate of the land. The town council seeks brave souls and adventures alike to investigate this threat, to put an end to these nefarious happenings, and restore peace to the region. But what begins as a simple job quickly spirals into something far stranger, and not all things are as they seem.
