I'll be your Operations Overseer, Mr. Sullivan. We're on the fringe of the Imperium's reach here in Port Chalmers, so while you may be wanted or otherwise watched back home, here I don't care what your crimes were - Only that you do the job you've signed up for. And that job is to explore, document, make connections with the locals, and get into places you probably shouldn't be! Danger? Adventure? Relics, artifacts and ruins?? Strange beasts and plants?? Oh, it's out there, adventurer.. And the longer you wait, the more you miss out on! --------- The Setting: - The Western Frontier is a West Marches style of D&D! - We are largely based in Australia/NZ, and as such we play at times convenient for us! - We have somewhere between 13-16 active players, most have two currently active PC's! - Our experience with this style of D&D and with D&D as a whole varies! - Session scheduling and game direction is driven largely by players! This is an open world sandbox style of game! Game Info: - We use variant rules long/short resting. Short rests are now 8 hours (overnight), long rests take a week of downtime back in The Town, or another fortified position. (Settlements, Inns, camps - places with structures for you to sleep in and an armed guard/watch). - Resources matter! Spell components, ammo, carry weight, and rations are all tracked! Character Creation: - No twilight cleric and no variant humans. All PC's begin with a free feat and a non-combat uncommon item. - We use Discord for voice/text chat, Owlbear Rodeo for battle maps, & D&D Beyond/google sheets for character sheets. - Homebrew must be approved by a GM. Players: - 18+ people only! Firm on this, sorry gang! Just a bit of a passion project given how there's not many if any other servers of my liking. A custom world setting that's still growing (Mainly because i'm not a writer...but i do try) with a few stipulations that aren't like most other WM servers. First order of business is that it's only rolled stats with at least one forced negative stat somewhere in every set, like it better that way. As well, it's a lvl 1 start, not a fan of lvl 3 or higher starts so I thought i'd tap into those who like starting at the very bottom of the ladder. The other major ruling is that PvP is more laxed as the only real condition is that you don't just be a mass player killer for no reason, however wanting to knock someone out for commiting an atrocity would be fair game even if they otherwise out of character say no, another major reason as to why I made the server is being forced to act out of character due to OOC discussions. You have to keep going through this strange 'dungeon' and make it through this place or claim the titles and be the bringer of the apocalypse Investigate, use your wits, charm, battle or even your body to bring down maeve or even (join her) WARNING This is a NSFW campaign with strong sexual themes/scenes and body horror In Session 0 I not only go over knowing what my player boundaries are but I inform my players of my own boundaries. Session 0 is also a great way to manage expectations before the game starts. If due to any reason a problem arise, I will have another session 0 to remind everyone of boundaries and safety techniques. Plus in session 0 we will be going in detail about kinks and what everyone is fine with wants to see or don't see. I do breaks in the sessions to let my players have a chance to think, let them have a time to rest mentally for 5 or 10 minutes, or how ever long my players need, so they know they are able to get something to eat or go have a toilet break During intense sessions I inform and remind everyone that my Dms are always open so they are aware if they do feel uncomfortable at one point and I am not aware and don't want to say it outright i will take it seriously and make sure to keep the player comfort a priority. At the end of intense sessions I always check in on my players to make sure they are okay
