Description

My name is Haten, I'm a DM of 10 years and I'm looking for four more players for a long term D&D 5e campaign (version also yet to be settled on). I was approached by some previous players who are looking to play consistently again and my usual avenues for players has not worked due to scheduling conflicts. I'm looking to run a weekly Roll 20 campaign with voice chat on Discord on Saturday evenings, 7pm-10pm GMT. We have a short list of campaigns to choose from, all are 3rd party 5e adventures and ill be writing up the synopsis for each for the chosen players shortly. The total party size will be six players and the goal is to play a module, but heavily utilise player backstories in the overall plot and side missions. My usual tone is that of Avatar the last air bender, silly moments but without the fear of getting really into the heavy stuff. Once the group is assembled we will go over Lines and Vales and all that good stuff before we play during a solid session 0. I like to run games with music and ambiance for greater immersion too. Due to this being a Saturday game, ill be aiming to run most weekends. If we are missing players one week, the goal is to play on and catch them up when they come back. I don't expect you to be able to commit to a full calendar, life must come first and there will always be more D&D. But if you are missing more session than you are joining, then we will have to talk about giving your spot to someone with the time to play. This will not be a first come first serve kind of LFG, I would like to first interview you as players to make sure you will be a good fit for the table I'm trying to make, so if you see lots of applications on here, don't be afraid to throw your hat in the ring. These wont be anything stressful or overly serious, just a casual meet and chat so I can get a good impression of you that text often cant convey. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to meeting some of you! Feel free to ask any questions you have (I'm sure I have missed something in all this) in comments or DMs What i want to know about you if you wish to apply is: What is your name / pronouns? Age / time zone (not going to sway my decision I'm just curious) How much experience do you have with TTRPGs? (more than happy to have brand new players at the table) If you have played / run a D&D module before, what was your favourite and why? Who was your favourite character to play and why? (if you have made one yet!) How comfortable are you creating a backstory and do you think you would appreciate building one together? Or do you prefer to just present your homework? A bit about yourself, hobbies / interest outside of TTRPGs Can you commit to weekly Saturday sessions? How comfortable are you with an informal interview?

The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Known by all, loved by many, the most popular and respected Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate in the city's history, a legendary hero and adventurer of years past, Abdel Adrian, also know as Gorion's Ward, is about to give a speech at The Wide - the biggest plaza in the Upper City of Baldur's Gate often used as a marketplace. The occasion for the speech is the Returning Day - the most important Baldurian holiday when people celebrate the return of the famous sailor Balduran from Anchorôme to Faerûn, who brought unbelievable riches from his voyage back to his home village of Gray Harbor some 400 years ago and ordered the fortification of the village and building of the city walls around it, thus founding Baldur's Gate. You are among the spectators, the audience at The Wide, ready to witness the living legend. But something goes wrong. Terribly wrong... Starting from that day, you will be caught in the middle of a whirlwind of catastrophic events that would signify the beginning of the Second Sundering - the cataclysm that would later shape the Forgotten Realms as you know them.
