Description

You gaze up into the mirror, and steel yourself as you open the letter. Within it, is your future - your whole self for the next 3 years. An acceptance or rejection into the College of Sylvarine. You gently pull the paper from the envelope... And smile at yourself. Welcome to Alterhearth! A Deltarune-inspired world of reflections, using the Fate TTRPG System. You and up to 4 other people will play as both monsters and humans, and explore a parallel world to Toby Fox's hit games. Expect a similar style of fantastical "Echo Worlds" [as opposed to "Dark Worlds"] divided up into themed Chapters, with a similar rich lore, fun characters and primarily narrative-based TTRPG experience as opposed to DnD 5e's combat heavy experience. However, expect also the unexpected. The same way, on release, that Deltarune shocked you as an Undertale fan - expect Alterhearth to have the same twists and turns, as well as a dark mystery at its heart... Unlike DR//, with "only one ending", or UT//, where it's "kill or be killed". Alterhearth? Only what you see can ever be real. Please DM me on Reddit or reply to this post to join! Currently undecided, but ideally we'd run from 19:00 - 23:00 GMT, + or - 2 hours. Of course, you'll need to be a big fan of Deltarune, over 18 and ideally have some previous experience with TTRPGs. Please no joke characters.

Rapidly growing city in freshly reconstituted country where law is part of lawless and folklore is still treated as lore indeed... for good reasons. Historical horror monster of the week. MOONLIGHTERS: Adventures After Dark!

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
The City never sleeps, and as a Moonlighter, niether will you! MOONLIGHTERS is a high-stakes Dungeons and Dragons campaign set in a fantastical version of the modern day. The players take the role of Moonlighters - part time adventurers who operate after dark. Are you a college dropout Elf? A pixie attorney specialising in Magic Item law? A gnome taxi driver? Whatever your reason, while the city sleeps, you Adventure! Players will form an Adventuring Party, working the Adventuring gig economy in the Big City. They'll choose from available jobs, meet wacky clients, and co-operatively worldbuild and expand on the city with the DM in the process. Will you stage an elaborate heist at the Museum of Villainy? Fix a Wizard Duel for a down-and-out gambler? Explore the forgotten catacombs of the public graveyard? It's up to you! More here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmq7tyim4007bjs04bh2hluyy?q=moonlighters  Each of the player characters will have a day job, which will be narratively incorporated into the story. If your single dad Orc is an accountant by day. maybe they'll notice some irregularities in the companies magical accounts. If they're an exhausted sound technician for a bratty DJ, maybe they'll have some connections to the shadier side of the city. During a Session 0, we will all discuss the general tone of the game the players are in the mood for. Player characters could all be friends fresh out of college, living out a coming-of-age Jon Hughes movie (with oozes and werewolves), a group of reluctant oddballs flung together in a workplace comedy, or desperate individuals just trying to make ends meet in a brutal, unforgiving city. The choice will be communal, and can always evolve with the narrative. I will discuss privately what each player wants to see, and what they never want to see in game. I'll make sure everyone is on the same page without drawing attention to any individual player's needs. The games is $20 per session via Startplaying. Alternatively, you can message me if you would rather pay another way.

Newish group - combat and roleplay in Conan style

European middle-ages vibe for world-building, collapsing as Sorceror-Kings bring apocalyptic magic. GM for 30 years, newly started a roleplay group, playing Saturday fortnightly at the Aldershot games shop. This is not a D&D group, we use a light rules system in a homebrewed world that is dark, gritty low fantasy (Barbarians of Lemuria) I have three players, open to having a few more. The players have some leeway to be creative with their background and the parts of the world they are from, so they can invest in building the world, and in narrating part of their own adventure. What's important to me is that players can commit and want to roleplay in a the game I've described. Magic is not a common part of the game, while it is fantastical, magic is special and surprising. I've GM'd many systems over many years, and run many long lasting campaigns. It's totally possible we might branch out and have other campaigns running. I'm interested in scifi (particularly Traveller or Star Wars) too.
