DREICH

Overview

A hundred ships from four world alliances broke through the Wall of the Eternal Storm to stake a claim on the land beyond it. Thirty survived. Now they're chained together into one floating city, drifting along the coast of an unknown continent. The sea won't let you go back. The shore drives you mad. And the Council of Captains has been arguing for a year now while everything runs out. You weren't chosen for your merits. A debtor from the Conglomerate's oil rigs. A deserter from the Iron Comradery, facing execution. A fanatic of the Bastion, grown in labs. A talented engineer of the Union, who knew too much. Four alliances with different goals and different worldviews now share fresh water, diesel, and fear beside a mainland that stays silent - but isn't empty. At night, foreign lights sometimes burn. On the rocks - carvings, left by the locals, and no one understands why. The Armada made you a scout. You're a first-comer, meeting world that isn't like yours. You go where not everyone comes back from. You bring back devices that break the laws of physics. You meet things that shouldn't exist. And sometimes you see patterns hiding in the treetops and in the walls of fog. And then you catch up with the Chained City, drifting on without you. Because the mist sometimes keeps something of the scouts for itself. And if your partner starts answering someone else - better not ask who.

Description

DREICH is a tabletop role-playing game built on a d100 roll-under system. Most rolls are made by the players. One roll decides both hit and damage. Combat uses zones, not grid cells. Characters grow through Marks - traces of what you've lived through, carved into your characteristics. Part of your backstory is built during play: who you were before the Armada comes out when it becomes a matter of life and death. And Despair binds you all together - a shared limit for the whole group: you can always reroll the dice. What are you willing to sacrifice to claw out one more day?

Owlbear Rodeo

Virtual tabletop (VTT)
English
Free
Owlbear Rodeo is a "no-frills," browser-based virtual tabletop that prioritizes speed and ease of use above all else. Originally launched in 2020 as a simple image-sharing tool, it evolved into version 2.0, transitioning to a cloud-based subscription model while maintaining its "pick-up-and-play" spirit. It is the premier choice for GMs who prefer theater-of-the-mind play or quick tactical skirmishes without the heavy automation of larger platforms. Description Owlbear Rodeo is the digital equivalent of a dry-erase battle mat. It does not try to be a video game; instead, it provides a shared canvas where you can drop a map, throw down some tokens, and start rolling dice in under a minute. It is famous for requiring no player accounts. The GM simply creates a room and sends a link. While it has added advanced features like dynamic fog and extension support, it remains the most lightweight and mobile-friendly VTT on the market.

The One Ring Second Edition

English
French
Polish
The One Ring is a tabletop roleplaying game of journeys and fellowship in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, designed by Francesco Nepitello and Marco Maggi. The first edition was published by Cubicle 7 in 2011 and set in Wilderland, the lands around Mirkwood and the Lonely Mountain. Cubicle 7 stopped publishing the game in 2019, and Free League Publishing took over the licence in 2020, announcing a second edition that moved the setting to Eriador. It was funded on Kickstarter, with backer shipments beginning in October 2021 and general retail release on 22 March 2022. The second edition won a 2022 Gold ENnie Award for interior art, and its French edition won the 2024 Graal d'or for Best New Edition. The second edition replaces the first edition published by Cubicle 7, and the two share a core approach to travel, hope and shadow. Description Players take on heroes of the Free Peoples of Middle-earth, such as Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves and Men of the North, who band together as a company. The Game Master is called the Loremaster (LM), and the second edition is set in Eriador roughly twenty years after Bilbo Baggins disappeared from the Shire. Sauron's shadow is growing again, but the world is still mostly quiet, and the game concentrates on the small, hard-won victories of ordinary heroes rather than saving the world. Play alternates between two rhythms. During the Adventuring phase, the company travels, explores, fights and talks its way through the Wild. In the Fellowship phase between adventures, heroes rest, recover, practise skills and pursue personal undertakings. The game asks a table to accept slow, attritional travel in which the road itself wears the company down, and to play characters whose hope can falter. It suits groups who want Tolkien's tone, not Tolkien's powerful wizards and heroes.
