Very non-canon AU Rime of the Frostmaiden, ongoing

We have been happily playing for over a year and are recruiting because we're losing 2 beloved players to inter-city moves. (How dare real life get in the way?! Unacceptable.) We did not know each other before we started playing but have been extremely lucky with our group so far. Are you our next party member? Please see below and reach out if this sounds like your vibe. * We play in person every other Sunday at 3pm, in Rågsved (~4 hours). We are looking for someone who says, "yes, that schedule sounds awesome". * 5E (2024 rules). We are more story+character-driven than mechanics-driven; we have some serious elements in the stories, but our games devolve into laughter and chaos more often than not. (If you are looking for something more serious in either tone or mechanics, I think you might get frustrated by our playstyles.) * Any English-speaking adult is welcome. The games are primarily in English, though we sprinkle in other languages. Our ages range over 2 decades, more women than men at the moment. * We are playing an extremely AU variant of Rime of the Frostmaiden (Icewind Dale) - by like the 3rd game, the only thing in common with canon was the names of the towns. So no worries if you are "already spoiled" on the ending - we are deep into homebrew territory. * Everyone is currently level 11; we're at a good inflection point in the story to bring on new people. The plan is to go up to 20 in order to battle Hastur (with help from Auril and Bahamut, of course). With this, I think it might be a bit rough if you've literally never played D&D before, but by no means do you have to be an expert. (See first point about the table being more story+character driven.) * We have super extensive notes and would 100% get you up to speed on the (zany) storyline if you are joining the game. If this sounds interesting to you, please reach out to me! We're probably looking to add someone for the 1 November game. (Maybe 18 October, but that might be too ambitious.)

[adnd 2e] The city of amber

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
About the Group This is a "new" group but the three existing players have played with me before, we are 25-40 years old, male players We play every second sunday, 11-18, I cook lunch. Starting level 1 Player requirements: 18+ Reliable attendance LGBTQ+ friendly, we have had LGBTQ+ players before and still have in other sessions.  About the game You’re sitting by the fire, going through what little the dungeon still had to offer, when you hear the sage curse under his breath. “I know that place… I know it.” It’s not the first time you’ve seen the carving down here. A half-buried panel in the stone, easy to overlook. It shows a city of amber and gold, with windows carved from resin, streets laid in shining metal, birds with gem-set eyes perched in the trees, and poets and wizards walking its streets. A story everyone knows. A city swallowed in an earthquake, gone in a single night. A tale told so often it barely registers anymore. At first, it seems like nothing. Just the same old legend carved into stone. But the sage is already on his feet, brushing dirt away, staring at something you hadn’t paid attention to before. “There. Look. That wasn’t there.” To the east of the city, faint but deliberate, the carving continues. A coastline. Not decorative, but drawn with intent. You’ve seen depictions of the city before, in carvings, tapestries, and old stories, but never like this. Never with a location. The wizard’s voice cuts through the quiet. “I know that coast. That’s Al-Zahir.” You now have something no one else does. Not just a legend, but a direction. A place tied to a real coastline, one that should be empty. There’s a town not far from there, though “town” is generous. It’s barely holding together. The Sultan is dead, his heirs are fighting over what’s left, and the region is slipping into open conflict. Patrols are thin, authority is scattered, and no one is in a position to care what a group of adventurers is doing along the coast. Following the carving, you find it. Not a city, at least not yet, but an entrance. Subtle, easy to miss, but real. Dust lies thick across the stone, undisturbed. No tracks, no signs of prior entry. Nothing like the dungeon you came from. Whatever this place is, it hasn’t been picked over. If the carving is even partly true, there is more wealth below than most people see in a lifetime. The question isn’t whether it’s there. It’s how deep it goes, and whether you can keep it to yourselves once you start bringing it back up.

Need DM & Potentially more players

Hi, I’m Aki, based in Stockholm. With DnD, my goal is to laugh and have fun, while also taking the game seriously when it comes to story, lore, and world-building. I’m looking to play Dungeons & Dragons 5e with two friends. We’ve all played a few sessions and know the basics. We’d prefer to play in person in Stockholm, but online is also fine. Ideally, we’d play one session every other week. We’re looking for a chill but respectful group, where everyone can have a good time and enjoy the adventure together. We love immersive stories. Not interested in sexual or erotic content.

Curse of Strahd (Gotisk skräckkampanj)

Lancer RPG: the flames of liberty

Hello! We are 4 happy mech pilots that run games every second sunday, and need a fourth player. (im the foreverdm). We meet up, cook a nice lunch together, then play until 6ish. If you arent familiar with Lancer, its a great game very heavily influenced by dnd 5e with very simple math for a mecha game, and great artwork and community (visit the lancer reddit for a good time). The current campaign is our first in Lancer, and the players are sabotaging corrupt slaver-empires while trying to unearth the mysteries of the past era and the fall from grace in this solar system. We play just by the Helenelund station so its about 15-20 min from odenplan.

Stockholm, Sweden, Co-GM Hastening doom!

LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
Time to find players and gamemasters for Hastening Doom!  Hastening Doom is a mega dungeon and runs using the normal Dungeons and Dragons/Tales of the Valiant rules. It has six floors and each floor is two character levels long. I am looking for five players to join in this expedition. Each player will game master one dungeon floor each. This means that you will get to play for the majority of the campaign, but that you will game master one floor which we will decide at the beginning of the campaign. You still get to play your character while you are game mastering. We are just sharing the responsibility to Game Master. We will be playing every other Monday (in Hökarängen, in English, and there are cats in the apartment) with start in about a month. Don't worry about logistics and prep - we will work that out. If you want to try gamemastering DnD for a bit - this is your chance!

Tabletop gaming in Stockholm

Stockholm is the heart of Sweden’s tabletop scene and home to Free League Publishing, one of the most successful roleplaying publishers in Europe. Game stores, cafés and gaming clubs across the city host campaigns, one-shots and board game nights.

You’ll find D&D alongside Swedish favourites like Dragonbane, Mutant: Year Zero and Vaesen, plus plenty of indie and horror games. Many groups play in English as well as Swedish, so international players can join in easily - no rulebook knowledge required.
