Bloody Spindle - an Incursion for Trophy Dark
The Briar is a section of the forest overgrown with thorny vines and rosebushes. It was once the home of a wealthy duchy, but the duke was forced to abandon his holdings when the forest encroached upon the land. The duke never managed to escape the forest. Rumor has it he left behind his greatest treasure within his castle for safekeeping, where it futilely awaits his return… or to be pillaged by enterprising treasure hunters.
Bloody Spindle is a Trophy Dark Incursion inspired by dark fairy tales. It is a game about doomed treasure hunters entering a forest that doesn’t want them there. You will play treasure hunters motivated by near-impossible goals to seek out riches in the forgotten places of the world. You are not heroes, but entitled and desperate pillagers there to secure your own wants and needs.
The treasure hunters are doomed, and they probably won’t achieve their goal. Instead, they are likely to die by the end of the game and watching how they go out is part of the fun. You will encounter conflict and tension between the treasure hunters, and they are encouraged to backstab and betray their companions in pursuit of their own goals. The game is highly collaborative and improvisational. Players have a lot of say over the world and can introduce elements no one was expecting.
Important – Content Warning
The game will be R-rated. Specifically, the game will feature central themes of sexual violence, pregnancy, miscarriage, infant death, body horror, and blood. We will discuss boundaries and implement safety tools before play. Players are never required to narrate or play out scenes of sexual violence.
I am looking for players who can engage with the above themes in a mature manner, who enjoy collaborative horror, and who are willing to provide feedback after the session for the purpose of revising the scenario.
