Description

The Basics System: D&D 5e (homebrewed, rules bent liberally for story) Location: King's Cross area, hosted at DM's house (meal included!) Schedule: Most likely Sunday afternoons (we might do Saturday afternoons or every other Sunday, depending on group availability. Please apply if any of those work for you!). 3-hour sessions, starting beginning of March Current group: DM + 2 players, all in our 30s Seeking: 2–4 more players. Newbies welcome. Start: Level 5 The Setting Your characters are travellers from another world, stepped through a portal onto a mysterious planet. What you've found: the ruins of a once-great civilization — crumbling towers, forgotten vaults, secrets buried in the dust. There's no single big bad to defeat. Instead, I build stories around your goals. Want to track down your missing son? Get revenge on the bard who betrayed you? Save up gold to buy the six-legged racing dino you fell in love with? Then come join the Gentlepersons’ Society for Heroic Oddities & Occasional Glory. West Marches–inspired structure, slice-of-life pacing, lots of room for exploration and character moments. The Tone Think Studio Ghibli or Avatar: The Last Airbender — not Game of Thrones. Cozy, heartfelt, and a little silly. Content is PG-13: fantasy violence exists but isn't graphic; no horror, sexual content, or edgy themes. Diplomatic and peaceful solutions are always valid (and often rewarded). Murder hobos need not apply. The Table LGBTQ+ friendly, kind, and collaborative. I love improv, goofy ideas, and players who get genuinely invested in NPCs and each other's stories. Party harmony matters — we're here for found family energy, not inter-character drama. You (Ideally) Proactive and character-driven Comfortable with a DM who treats the rulebook as a suggestion Enjoy emotional beats and RP as much as (or more than) combat Warm, funny, not crude Reliable: can commit to attending at least twice a month — this is the big one Note-taking is a bonus How to Apply Fill out Log in to view I'll follow up with a casual video call before your first session to make sure we're a good fit for each other. Hai :3  I've been DMing online for about 2 years now but I've never tried irl, so here I'm trying to start that :p forgive me if I'm rather amateurish  I have two campaigns that I'll decide between based on the player makeup, one a time-loop sandbox I've home-brewed, and another a tighter dungeon crawl, still fairly nonlinear, based on Fear&Hunger. Before any of them, I'd like to run a oneshot to see what type of players I have  Generally, I don't tend to stick super closely to rules as written, and tend to not plan nameless enemies. I also don't have a super firm grasp on the rules themselves lol so it'll be a learning experience for all of us (so generally, not trying for the highest heights of difficulty)  In terms of players, I'm hoping to find people who aren't super old (I'm sixteen, ideally be under 20) and who are ok with the queers™ (don't be an arse basically)  So ya :3 if you want a roleplay-planning focused campaign rather than turn by turn battle strategy this is probably the campaign for you ✨  If your interested, DM me on discord at 'lavenderthesillycat'

Hey Everyone!  Me and my group are currently looking for Players to join our discord server for a long standing Campaign if possible! We are newer to D&D so we hope to find people that don't mind joining us! We want to create a community of 10+ people to run multiple campaigns later on, as of right now there are 6 members in our discord server so we hope to create a fun and engaging community where everyone can interact and have fun together! We are against paid sessions and believe everyone should be welcomed to join and just have fun in the community  As Dm I Ideally like to get another campaign running on Thursday or Friday since I run one campaign on Saturdays, the time for Thursday or Friday isn't set until I find a group for these days For possible players We are a new community in discord so we want to make it a positive experience for everyone and have a much fun as possible! Backgrounds or other personal details don't really matter to us we want to be a open community and have a safe space for everyone to engage and just escape day to day grind life gives us and roll that NAT 20 to seduce the dragon (if that's what you're into 😂) but we also hope to just add more people and grow as a community and build relationships that will last a life time!  So if this is something you're interested in send me a message here or on Discord and I'd love to chat with you! The Western Frontier

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Welcome to The Western Frontier, adventurer! You've joined the best of the best here at SINC, CA! Saints of Interplanar Navigational Charters, Chalmers Acolytes. I'll be your Operations Overseer, Mr. Sullivan. We're on the fringe of the Imperium's reach here in Port Chalmers, so while you may be wanted or otherwise watched back home, here I don't care what your crimes were - Only that you do the job you've signed up for. And that job is to explore, document, make connections with the locals, and get into places you probably shouldn't be! Danger? Adventure? Relics, artifacts and ruins?? Strange beasts and plants?? Oh, it's out there, adventurer.. And the longer you wait, the more you miss out on! --------- The Setting: - The Western Frontier is a West Marches style of D&D! - We are largely based in Australia/NZ, and as such we play at times convenient for us! - We have somewhere between 13-16 active players, most have two currently active PC's! - Our experience with this style of D&D and with D&D as a whole varies! - Session scheduling and game direction is driven largely by players! This is an open world sandbox style of game! Game Info: - We use variant rules long/short resting. Short rests are now 8 hours (overnight), long rests take a week of downtime back in The Town, or another fortified position. (Settlements, Inns, camps - places with structures for you to sleep in and an armed guard/watch). - Resources matter! Spell components, ammo, carry weight, and rations are all tracked! Character Creation: - No twilight cleric and no variant humans. All PC's begin with a free feat and a non-combat uncommon item. - We use Discord for voice/text chat, Owlbear Rodeo for battle maps, & D&D Beyond/google sheets for character sheets. - Homebrew must be approved by a GM. Players: - 18+ people only! Firm on this, sorry gang! We range in age from about 19 to the late thirties! - LGBT+ folk expressly welcome! - No bigots, -ias or -isms, thank you! - All experience levels welcome, we're learning to run and play this style of game too, so we don't mind teaching you on the way! - Interested? Might be the game for you? Get in touch! Message me with: - A little about you! *Age, exp with d&d, timezone and typical times/days you'd play at/during (scheduling reasons) - A rough character idea! - Things you think you'd be interested in doing as a player! - Your discord username! - Times and days that'd work for you for a quick call so that we can vibe check each other!
