Description

"They told us the ancient machines we dug out of the earth would protect us. They were wrong. The sky bled red, the earth shook, and in a single night, the kingdom fell. We don't know if the King survived, and we don't know where the Champions are. All we know is that the castle is wrapped in a shroud of red malice, and the monsters are coming. Weeks ago, Central Hyrule was a bustling kingdom; today, it is a graveyard of smoking stone and rogue mechanical stalkers that hunt anything that moves."
The rumors flying between the survival camps are terrifying. They say the Chosen Hero fell defending the retreating forces. They say Princess Zelda is still alive inside the castle, holding back the purple storm with nothing but her bare hands and a fading prayer, but no one knows how long she can last. The prophecies failed, and the grand armies are gone. No legendary knight is coming to save your village. If Hyrule is going to survive the winter, it’s up to the people left standing—the blacksmiths, the scouts, the squires, and the outcasts.
Grab your pack. Draw your steel. The smoke is rising on the horizon, and the howling of Bokoblins grows louder with every sunset. You have a rusty sword, a hunter's bow, or perhaps just the heavy hammer from your family forge. But you are still here, standing on the edge of the wild, and the world cannot wait for a miracle.
Who will you become? When the Blood Moon rises, and the monsters knock at your door, will you fade into the mist, or will you stand and carve out a new legend? Hyrule is dying. Get on your feet, pack your rations, and look to the horizon. The world is yours to save. Log in to view.

I love stories! I love to tell them, but I am even more interested in getting to know new ones. RPGs are a great way for people to connect, and share their stories while creating stories together!

Whatever the opposite of a railroaded adventure is, this open-world campaign is that. The rules are simple. The world is complicated. What happens to it is up to the players. You will hear rumors, discover locations, meet competing factions, and encounter problems, but the game will not tell you which direction you must take. Some things the players have chosen to do so far: Join the local mercenaries to learn the ways of the sword as a mage - Retrieve an old lady's purse - Become war chieftain of an orc village - Decapitate a wight with a cursed sword Also some new races that are crafted to play and feel very different: - Pixie - fly, perfect hiding, cast phantasmal forces at will, insults cause physical damage to you - Orc - infra-vision, can recruit monsters more easily Races and classes are kind of blended together. Multiple characters are encouraged. Each choice allows you to do something that appears to let you break the game, while saddling you with something else that seems debilitating. This is by design, and players have come up with a few ways of getting around and abusing these things to the betterment of the story and lore. - Fighting-Man - Doesn't have to actually be a guy, but is a human. Can use all weapons and armor. - Magic-User - Has one spell, one "shot". Can meet with magic learned peers to exchange knowledge. The most notorious spell in the game right now is Charm Person because it doesn't wear off like in later editions. - Cleric - The best of the two above, but must be Good, and by the Law. - Elf - Essentially a Magic-Use/Fighting-Man with extra perks and ties with elves and the ability to sense magic, enhanced senses, etc. but capped at a certain point - Hobbit - Capped early, but can hide flawlessly in urban areas and snipe REAL good with slings. No magic. - Dwarf -  Capped early, but high resistance, good with all axes and hammers, can sense what stone touches and its shape, and ties with and extensive knowledge of dwarven culture and holds. There are major events going on in the background but instead of shoving players in the middle of them, I showcase the developments of those events that come about, for good or ill. The players decide what to investigate, whom to trust, which dangers are worth confronting, and what their characters want to accomplish. How many hirelings do you need to bring with you? How much can you do successfully alone to maximize profit? Play alone, 1-on-1 with DM and player, or up to 10 others at once. The world continues to develop around the party. Factions pursue their own plans, NPCs remember your actions, enemies adapt, settlements can change, and neglected situations may grow better or worse. Player choices can permanently reshape the campaign world. Let me know if you are interested!

Best Leave Them Ghosts Alone Old Gods of Appalachi

Paid game
The Game Master charges a fee to run the game.
Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
Years ago, someone close to you died. What happened afterward bound you and your childhood friends together in ways none of you ever really escaped. Now that friend is gone again, you have all returned home for the funeral. What follows is not a story about hunting monsters. It is a story about going back to a place you thought you had left behind, seeing old friends again, remembering things differently, and discovering that the past may not be finished with you yet. Best Leave Them Ghosts Alone is a character-driven Old Gods of Appalachia mystery filled with grief, memory, strange happenings, and the uneasy feeling that something familiar has been waiting for you to come home. Expect: 🕯️ A deeply personal mystery where your shared history matters as much as the clues you uncover 🕯️ Heavy roleplay and light combat, with room to talk, investigate, remember, and make difficult choices 🕯️ A story we build together, including pieces of your characters' childhood, friendships, and memories 🕯️ Creative problem solving where unusual ideas are often more interesting than finding the "right" answer 🕯️ Slow-building Appalachian horror focused on atmosphere, emotion, and things that feel just a little too familiar 🕯️ Strange and useful discoveries that may give you unexpected ways to change the story 🕯️ Rules that stay out of the way so we can spend more time inside the scene and less time looking things up This game is also designed as an easy introduction to the new Cypher System. No experience is needed, and there is nothing you need to study beforehand. I will teach the rules as they come up during play. Use the VTT for dice rolling, or bring your own dice and use the provided character PDF. Come home. See your old friends. And find out what has been waiting for you. This is a heavy Roleplay session and explore some emotional beats. It is also a horror that goes into the following triggers: Child Death, Grief, Ghosts, Funerals, and Haunting. We will have descretion tools in place. Game is $20 USD + SPG fees. Here is the link to the game. Message me if you have any questions.

The world of Phelun is an old one that has seen many conflicts throughout its history. While times seem peaceful, beneath the surface there are whisperings of the Dragon Queen stirring within her prison, strange events occurring upon the continent of Ines, and adventure awaiting upon the lost continent of Asoris. This is an 18+ only server that is a mix of go at your own pace pbp and west marches living world elements.  https://discord.gg/X8dFsNrjBw This is a new Server that has been worked on by one DM for 3 months. It currently features the following:     PbP forums for those who prefer slower RPs.     Living world channels where characters can explore the lands or meet one another in real time in the pub.     DM run Tables. (We are looking for more DMs to help run tables)     Mining, gathering, fishing, and exploration through Avrae commands (commands are ready, but random tables need to be filled out more for variety).     Random in game daily events (not tied to irl days, and still being worked on).     Market to buy items.     Guilds (will need leaders).     Job command to earn coin and a living world channel to RP the work in. (currently being reworked)     Custom Drinking command for the pub.     Player housing.
