Description

Any more mature folks out there looking to join a DnD group to play in person in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs? We’ve been playing as a group out of Warrandyte on Thursday evenings, 6.30-9.30pm, for close to a year now, and have some player slots that have come available We’re relearning the basics and getting up to speed with the 5.5 edition rules so if you’ve not played before (or are a bit rusty) but fancy giving it a go with like minded folks (who often get side tracked with Monty Pythonesque humour), this could be a good introduction (or reintroduction), with a welcoming and novice-friendly group Note - no game fee, but there's a small fee for use of the community centre where we meet which, at time of writing, is a flat $40 AUD for the year

New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Quick Campaign Info - Schedule: Tuesdays at 19:00 CET (GMT+1) / 1:00 PM ET (3 to 3.5 hours) - Starting Level: Level 5 (Ongoing campaign, currently at Session 20) - Price: $20 USD per session (YOUR FIRST SESSION IS FREE) - Openings: 2 Seats Open (3/5 players active) - Tech: Roll20 (Maps/VTT) + D&D Beyond (Sheets/Beyond20) + Discord (Voice) - GM: Verified Top-Rated GM on StartPlaying (110+ games, 20+ 5-star reviews) Why Are Seats Open Mid-Campaign? We have a consistent, long-running group! Two seats opened up due to real-life schedule changes:     1 player stepped back due to financial priorities.     1 player got a work promotion with new working hours. Both left on great terms, with one moving to another of my campaigns. We are looking for two new players to jump right in at Level 6. The Pitch: What to Expect The Phandalin Frontier is a super sandbox module featuring Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk along with Dragon of Icespire Peak.     Total Sandbox Freedom: Go where you want, side with whom you wish, and help build the Sword Coast by your choices.     No Resource Micromanagement, Pure Story and Combat Adventure: High-risk tactical gameplay and mystery-filled stories without worrying about numbers.     Changing World: The townsfolk, cultists, and other factions will respond based on the party's actions.     Smooth Gameplay: Roll20 maps, lighting, custom music, and D&D Beyond integration. Are You Ready to Sign Up? Do you want to avoid playing fragile characters at lower levels? Or maybe you are in search of a stable weekly Tuesday game? You will fit right in here. I will guide you through making your own Level 5 character and seamlessly integrating it into the plot. The Western Frontier

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Welcome to The Western Frontier, adventurer! You've joined the best of the best here at SINC, CA! Saints of Interplanar Navigational Charters, Chalmers Acolytes. I'll be your Operations Overseer, Mr. Sullivan. We're on the fringe of the Imperium's reach here in Port Chalmers, so while you may be wanted or otherwise watched back home, here I don't care what your crimes were - Only that you do the job you've signed up for. And that job is to explore, document, make connections with the locals, and get into places you probably shouldn't be! Danger? Adventure? Relics, artifacts and ruins?? Strange beasts and plants?? Oh, it's out there, adventurer.. And the longer you wait, the more you miss out on! --------- The Setting: - The Western Frontier is a West Marches style of D&D! - We are largely based in Australia/NZ, and as such we play at times convenient for us! - We have somewhere between 13-16 active players, most have two currently active PC's! - Our experience with this style of D&D and with D&D as a whole varies! - Session scheduling and game direction is driven largely by players! This is an open world sandbox style of game! Game Info: - We use variant rules long/short resting. Short rests are now 8 hours (overnight), long rests take a week of downtime back in The Town, or another fortified position. (Settlements, Inns, camps - places with structures for you to sleep in and an armed guard/watch). - Resources matter! Spell components, ammo, carry weight, and rations are all tracked! Character Creation: - No twilight cleric and no variant humans. All PC's begin with a free feat and a non-combat uncommon item. - We use Discord for voice/text chat, Owlbear Rodeo for battle maps, & D&D Beyond/google sheets for character sheets. - Homebrew must be approved by a GM. Players: - 18+ people only! Firm on this, sorry gang! We range in age from about 19 to the late thirties! - LGBT+ folk expressly welcome! - No bigots, -ias or -isms, thank you! - All experience levels welcome, we're learning to run and play this style of game too, so we don't mind teaching you on the way! - Interested? Might be the game for you? Get in touch! Message me with: - A little about you! *Age, exp with d&d, timezone and typical times/days you'd play at/during (scheduling reasons) - A rough character idea! - Things you think you'd be interested in doing as a player! - Your discord username! - Times and days that'd work for you for a quick call so that we can vibe check each other!

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmtxozec102m9l4042g2bhtm6?ref=cmo7x3wdy01h6l504f6rzzu4i Paid game, US$20/session. SESSION ZERO FREE This campaign will follow a sandbox, exploration-focused narrative navigating the events and challenges following the Legion's defeat at Mount Hyjal and the Arthas' ascension as the Lich King. The Hearthstone Expedition is the brainchild of an alliance of grand powers, with an agreement of spirited cooperation even before elements of the Alliance and the Horde. Their charter is the peaceful exploration and settlement of Kalimdor's wildest regions, a task that will take several lifetimes, as well as the reconquest of the Black Morass, which has become a major hotspot of demonic activity. There are demons to cast out, ancient ruins to plunder, and many new friends to make in this chronicle of exploration and heroic adventure! - A Note from the GM As someone who largely did not experience World of Warcraft first-hand, this version of the Warcraft setting will be inspired more by the classic titles than the...questionable directions Activision-Blizzard choose to take the story in. * This campaign is strictly no-AI, as I consider its use unethical. *
