The Story
In this world, magic exists for one purpose: to show off. Called "Spotlights", these often hereditary abilities are only allowed to be used in a competition. No matter what, with the power you’ve been given, it is your duty to prove yourself to be the very best at whatever you choose to do.
Most popular of all to compete over, are sports. Stadiums travel from across the world to watch in awe of those who have earned their spot amongst the top ranks.The most popular sport of them all? Legion! A Co-Ed Sport consisting of teams of six. One Goalkeeper, two backliners on defense, two frontliners on offense, and their mascot. Called the Bastion, Rearguard, Vanguard, and Heart, respectively.
It is said that there are five ways to win at legion: To Outwit, to Outlast, to Outperform, to Outmaneuver, or to Outnumber your opponent. These are called the Five Pillars of Victory. Stars in Legion are called “Outers" for that reason.
Those who wish to have any career in Legion must be scouted by a prominent team, all of which recruit entirely from college-level games.
Tomorrow is this year’s Application Ceremony, where those who have shown promise have gathered, offering a full-ride scholarship to the lucky few that catch their eyes. Whether you got this opportunity from being referred by an existing player, from having a unique or powerful Spotlight, or from a promising career, everyone here has an x-factor they only get one chance to prove.
