Greek-myth campaign for Daggerheart

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
"Five years ago, a thousand ships answered Agamemnon's call and departed Greece to bring about Ilium's ruin. The greatest heroes, the mightiest weapons, and the most mythical stories are somewhere else.  You are among who remains.  I am Homer, and I will sing of you, amongst Other Names." Set in a fabled Age of Rhapsody — paying homage to the Bronze Age, Greek tragedy and comedy, and classical myth — Echoes of Fate is a homebrew Campaign Frame for Daggerheart exploring lies and prophecies, the making of myths, and what it costs to break destiny. You are not the hero the epic was written for. No prophecy names you. No Muse has claimed your story...yet. So what do you make of a life the songs haven't told yet? If you are a fan of myth retellings such as EPIC: the Musical, A Thousand Ships, The Song of Achilles, come sit by the fire. Some notes on the setting: •  The gods are present but distracted — drawing their eye may bring you greatness, or ruin. Or maybe you'll be drawn to the Mysteries instead? •  No prophecy protects you: your choices ripple outward, and could alter canon myths and even the course of the war itself. •  All stories are welcome, this table is LGBTQ+ friendly. •  New to tabletop, Daggerheart, or Greek myth? This table is beginner-friendly. And no Classics degree required, just curiosity. EU-friendly hours (evenings except weekends where I can do mornings or early afternoons) or US- friendly (late afternoons/early evening). Sessions can be weekly or bi-weekly through StartPlaying.com, at 20$ per session. About me: - I've been a Dungeon Master for almost 8 years and I have plenty of experience in guiding new players. I prefer Theater of the Mind with minimal VTT support. - Your story will matter and I love a long, narrative background I can weave into the main story. - I do character voices!  - I also do character artworks :D Safety tools: Session 0, Lines and Veils, Consent checklist and X cards. I prefer to be honest in advance: Echoes of Fate draws from real life in addition to myth. Slavery was present in Ancient Greece, as was mysogyny, war and violence. You will be able to challenge these in-game through your character, or ask me to avoid mentioning them and I will do my best to do so.

🌍🌍〰️〰️〰️ | Exploration ⚔️⚔️⚔️〰️〰️ | Combat 🎭🎭🎭〰️〰️ | Social RP & Drama 🧩〰️〰️〰️〰️ | Puzzles 😂😂😂〰️〰️ | Humor # About the Campaign 🧑‍🏫 Learn the Game | 🎲 Sit and Play! | 😄 Have Fun! Marlowe Fairwind, the right-hand sorcerer of King Emeris, has gathered her most trusted allies to carry an important package to Hush, a small village within the ancient forest of Sablewood. The crate is large, heavy and sealed with magic, addressed to the Whitefire Arcanist. You’ve been given a map and a carriage, and the promise of reward upon your arrival. # What This Campaign Offers 🎓 Learn Daggerherat - A quick rundown of the mechanics, providing pre-made characters, complete with suggestions of links and background questions to help you immerse yourself. ⚖️ An All-round experience – Combat, exploration, roleplaying, social encounters and magical places. Get a taste of everything applied to the system of Daggerheart, and find out how it works for you! ✨ Whimsy - Although the campaign is short, the city of Hush and its inhabitants carry a certain whimsy and magic within them, making them fun personalities to engage with, so the session aims to be fun and light-hearted. ⏳ No Prep One Shot - You don't need to do any work; just show up to the game, and I'll teach all the rules and offer characters. Just sit down, learn the game, play a session and we're done! 🐣 Kid Friendly - Sablewood Messengers's only heavy themes are the inclusion of Undeads and Violence. The undeads can be easily re-skinned to something more friendly, and the combat can be quirky and silly if needed. Other than that, it's magic, fairies and songs! # In-Depth Campaign Structure Designed with beginners in mind, Sablewood Messengers is often called the Quickstart. It was released alongside Daggerheart as a free content to help players get into the game easily. It's a single session which includes explaining the game, going through two possible combats, and social encounters with a magical city and a quirky fairy grandma, with a lot of room for players and characters to interact and become closer throughout their travel. Characters are included in the module, and they have a suggestion of how they connect already included in their backgrounds, as well as questions prepared to help players strengthen these bonds. The game's rules are very simple, and can be explained within an hour. # Preparing For The Session You'll need accounts on Roll20 and Discord. No character creation needed! Characters will be provided at the start of the session! Payment and scheduling is done through [StartPlaying.Games](http://StartPlaying.Games) # About Me! Hey there! I'm Erick, and I have been a regular RPG player since 2015, but I've been involved in the world of RPGs and have been a fan since I was a little kid, when my brother used to GM for me. I'm a big fan of game design in general; so I also enjoy creating content and tweaking the rules as needed. I've played a few other systems, but D&D 5th Edition is my favorite by far. RPGs are my favorite hobby, and I believe they have immense narrative, rational and therapeutic value. I am happy to teach newcomers and engage with veterans alike. Although I embrace heavy themes and take the narrative itself seriously within the game, our communion as writers and players is something very light and comfortable for me. We'll use battlemaps for all scenes that include a scuffle, and mostly use theater of the mind for the rest of the scenes; although I do share the images that I use as reference for locations, when there are any. We'll use music to set the vibe as we play, as well as some sound effects, all integrated within Roll20. I got a firm grasp of the rules, and I am lax with them, trying to create a flow on scenes, without losing balance. Preparing to play on the 17th, 19th and 23rd of October, depending on your preference! Erdoros: The Cosmfall

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hello everyone and welcome to the Cosmfall campaign! We are starting up a short-to-medium length campaign set in the very distant past of our main campaign world, Erdoros, during the events that would come be known in history as the "Cosmfall", when the very stars in the sky began raining down upon the world and the young races that walked its earth, these falling stars bringing with them an alien race that would change the nature of the world forever: Dragonkind. Campaign Introduction "In a time before recorded history, when the curmudgeonly Dwarves had only just begun to settle the Deep Places, and the Elves venturing from their Enchanted Hinterland home of Thala'drahel, and the younger races across the continents had only begun to settle from their nomadic ways, the very stars fell from the sky." Witness our world, Erdoros, before the advent of Magic. Druidism, shamanism and other forms of magic attuned to the natural world are permissible, but incredibly rare. Cling to ancient deities and beliefs fueled by faith and sacrifice, desperate to unlock eldritch powers you cannot comprehend to gain an upper hand in a world put to the flame. The world is young, and all races are at early stages in cultural & technological development and generally isolated from one another. - Wizard, Warlock and Seraph are not playable, but may you rise to become one of the first in history? - Sorcerer is only playable by Elf (known as Dreamweavers) or Dwarf (known as Runespeakers) ancestry. - Clank, Drakona, Infernis and Fungril are not playable. At Session Zero, choose your own path: band together with the other mortal races of this world against the arrival of the destructive and tyrannical Dragons, or betray your own kind to bask in the glory of their new world. The limitations presented here are not to "limit" your choices as a player, but to drive home and best represent the primal world you will be stepping into. Overview - Bi-weekly sessions on every other Wednesday from 20.00 to 00.00 GMT+1. - Our main D&D 5E campaign is currently on hiatus, and we have plans to play this and other shorter-form campaigns in the future to see if you as a new player vibe well with us across different settings & tones before getting locked back into the main campaign. - We are first-timers to Daggerheart, but long-term TTRPG players. We accept & welcome any experience level at our table however! The campaign will start at level 2 and will end at levels 7-8. - We are a group of 3 Players + 1 DM (Me) looking to add a further 2 to our Party. We play from across Europe and are mainly looking for people in the same timezone as us. - We use Foundry VTT hosted on a Forge cloud server, Discord for Voice & Video chat during session. For our games, webcams are mandatory as it is a preference for us to alleviate and improve the roleplay and immersion into the game itself. What We Offer: - A living, breathing world that evolves with (or without) the players' direct interaction. Just as the players have their own goals and ambitions, so too do the other inhabitants of this world. - Serious & realistic roleplay-focused narrative with moments of levity. Ranging from grimdark to lighter tones, all within a swords & sandals setting. The world of Cosmfall is a world before civilization and before diplomacy: many races bear old grudges, and some are as alien to each other as the Dragons themselves. - Consistently scheduled games, planned out with time, care and effort to deliver an entertaining and engaging experience, with heavy attention to detail to narrative elements. A free-form setting open to the collaborative input of all players with the ability to introduce your own ideas, story beats and elements if they mesh well with the overall narrative, with a Game / Dungeon Master who will work WITH you to make a character we both want to fit in the world. - A tailor-made game experience for each player, with intricate and unique encounters, fully fleshed-out boss fights, unique & powerful magic items, rewards and much more. Each person at the table has their own moment to shine, no matter how small! What We Are Looking For: - Laid-back and relaxed individuals over the age of 21 (our age range is from 24-34) who want to sit around and roll virtual dice together and weave a fantastical story that we will be talking about for years to come! - Accommodating, patient and understanding team players who look to raise each other up, cooperate and collaborate to enjoy the game together. Enthusiasm and curiosity are crucial! - Dedicated roleplayers who place emphasis, detail and care into the motivations, background and personality of their character: each player character should be an individual first, a party member close second. - Consistency and dedication to a weekly / bi-weekly schedule. We have a pretty solid track record of being able to run weekly, and during this campaign we are slowing down to bi-weekly for now. A missed session here and there is totally fine and understandable, but we all want to play together with a full party. We hope this has covered all the bases and given you a good idea of what we are all about, whilst it may seem high-octane, we are very much welcome to beginners, veterans and anything in-between, so don't be shy to put your hat in the ring if you think you'd have fun at our table, and you'd be a good addition to our party! To help us find the perfect candidates, we'd like to kindly ask you to fill out our quick application form answering a few of our burning questions to let us know what kind of game YOU'D want, and what kind of player YOU are, before we can move onto the next step. We very much look forward to hearing from you all and hope to see you in Erdoros with us very soon: https://forms.gle/i6mqghDaidmeqer48
