Description

This is an online game ran via a VTT. The Dutonic Valley was subjugated for over three centuries, but the spirit of its people was never broken. Following the devastation of the Burning of the Wood, the might of the Mirric oppressors was finally broken. Now, Dutonic tribes have once more gained a foothold in their ancestral homeland. Many eccentric tribes have arises from the smoke. Some fight to reclaim the Dutonic heartland in the marshes along the river, while other tribes have carved out petty kingdoms in the highlands. Cults, pagans, noble kings, merciless warlords. In the upcoming arc, a new set of cultures are released on the edges of the map. The surviving Miralenians, the fierce Falmarci, and more now contend for the fertile land of the Dutonic Valley, while its defenders must stand against the tide and retain a grip on their long-ailing homeland. - In this campaign, you join the ongoing brawl to carve out a future for your people. You create a faction leader and develop your lands to shape your realm and rule. You can fight battles to gain new lands or raid enemy factions. The wargame is a D6 dice pool based game, using small units of about 4-10 models and about 6-12 units per side. With unique weapon traits and unit traits, positioning and clever engagements are key to victory. - This is a bit of a hybrid experience, combining grand strategy and a tactical wargame with pbp roleplay. You've got some of the classic trappings of strategy games in managing territories and building armies, but with a grand TTRPG feel. Alliances come from both ideology and circumstance. With a campaign map to track valuable resources, the spread of rival powers, and warlords on the lurk, the consequences of diplomacy are tangible. The campaign operates on a weekly turn, during which your actions and decisions tick over and you reap the benefits of your rule, or face its unfortunate consequences. However, you can scheme, send letters, and manage your realm any time. The campaign is designed for around 10 to 15 players.

Play by post
The whole game runs as written posts in a chat or forum, so nobody has to be online at the same time.
Hello perspective player! I just stumbled on Steel Rift and have made a lite RP, Living World Arena/Tourney/League server!. It is Play-By-Post, with me handling the map and rulings so that it can be time-zone and time-available agnostic! Players are free to schedule between themselves if they want to resolve a match over Tabletop Sim with me as Arbiter, but no one is reqiured to do that. (Also feel free to send pics of physical minis if you want to use/display them! The system is mini-agnostic for anyone interested in playing Steel Rift locally.) There is 1 change I have made so that its easier to manage as a PbP game (inches to Hex Tiles), and there is currently 1 very simple homebrew added. You wont need to buy a copy of the rules, as I have them available on the server. Advanced Rules will be added over time, both to not overwhelm players but also so I can cherry pick what works with the League and missions that I will present players with (and to a lesser extent the flimsy lore I have for this game-world). Players will be a General Purpose Administrator/Logistics A.I., usually manufactured and purchased by Militaries and MegaCorps for admin work on large vessels and in company-cities. In this case though, the players have been purchased by an Underboss of a Redlight planet. They'll be placed in control of the crime faction's Blood Sport Assets in the burgeoning, new Mecha Coliseums popping up all around the seedy ecumenopolis. You'll put together HE-Vs and teams and enter them into Bouts, Tournaments, Leagues, etc. Obtain purses and prizes from wins, bet on other player's matches for side profit, and go Rogue to get out from under the crime boss's thumb! Eventually players will be able to accept contracts off world for MegaCorps and Sovereignties (ala BattleTech style) and will be able to flex more of the mission types and advanced rules over time. I'm running it via a purpose made Discord server and using Tabletop Sim purely so the maps and models will be a bit more exciting than a 2d, top-town grid. There is currently only 1 mechanical roll tied to Roleplay itself (subject to change depending on what players decide to get up to). You can always hit me with ideas and things you'd like to see that we can work together to make happen! If anyone is interested feel free to DM me and ask any questions you might have! A final note: The game is tagged as 18+, please respect that. And if any player has a concern about anything (including regarding me) please feel empowered to bring it to my attention so it can be resolved!

The party is currently at level 3 and looking to grow it's ranks. They are about to embark on a journey with their dragon companion, Whisper, to investigate the legitimacy of 1 of 4 companies with potential ties to the Carrion Company. I will run a one on one session Zero with anyone interested! Dark Frontier Fantasy | Tactical Roleplay | Political Intrigue | Living World Campaign | Growing Items Starting at level 1 going all the way to 20! Azural remembers everything. In the foothills of the Drenthars, most names are forgotten, most contracts are written in dust, and only Azural itself bothers to keep score. You start in the fading frontier town of Arazar, just mere faces in the crowd, taking whatever work will keep you fed. • Escorting short caravans that never make the stories. • Settling petty border quarrels. • Finding the missing, no one can afford to mourn. • Looking the other way on smuggling runs. • Digging up graves for coins that barely shine. Small jobs for small people. Until Azural begins to change around you—and the first whispers of a divine crime start to echo from the shadows. Will you silence those whispers, or turn them into the cry that rights a long‑forgotten wrong? StartPlaying Game Link StartPlaying GM Profile
