Description

* PLEASE BE ADVISED - THIS IS A PAID GAME $20 PER PLAYER PER SESSION * Eternal winter has claimed the far reaches of the North. The sun barely rises over the frozen tundra of Icewind Dale, and when it does, it offers little warmth—only pale light across endless snow, howling winds, and isolated settlements struggling to survive. In this land of creaking glaciers and half-forgotten gods, something ancient stirs beneath the ice. "Rime of the Frostmaiden" is a dark fantasy campaign of survival, mystery, and creeping cosmic horror, where hope is scarce, trust is fragile, and every choice echoes in the cold. This game is for players who enjoy rich roleplay, moral ambiguity, and character-driven storytelling alongside tense exploration and tactical combat. You’ll create heroes shaped by hardship—outcasts, wanderers, survivors, and seekers—each with secrets of their own. Your backstory will matter. Your bonds will matter. The frozen wastes will test not just your strength, but your convictions, forcing you to decide what you’re willing to sacrifice to protect what little warmth remains in the world. My tables emphasize immersive storytelling, vivid descriptions, and meaningful player agency. The world reacts to your actions. NPCs remember your deeds. Victories feel earned, and failure carries weight. Expect a balanced mix of investigation, social intrigue, wilderness survival, and dangerous combat encounters, with space for character moments and emergent storytelling. I favor cinematic pacing and collaborative worldbuilding, where player ideas help shape the evolving narrative. Above all, this is a game about standing against the dark—not because victory is guaranteed, but because someone has to try. If you enjoy bleak settings, deep character arcs, and uncovering terrible truths buried beneath the snow, Icewind Dale awaits. Bring a torch, trust your companions, and prepare to face the endless night. I use DIscord for VC and Roll20 for VTT where I have a huge library of content to choose from, both 2024 and 2014 5e Please have 3 character concepts for consideration. Log in to view

The City never sleeps, and as a Moonlighter, niether will you! MOONLIGHTERS is a high-stakes Dungeons and Dragons campaign set in a fantastical version of the modern day. The players take the role of Moonlighters - part time adventurers who operate after dark. Are you a college dropout Elf? A pixie attorney specialising in Magic Item law? A gnome taxi driver? Whatever your reason, while the city sleeps, you Adventure! Players will form an Adventuring Party, working the Adventuring gig economy in the Big City. They'll choose from available jobs, meet wacky clients, and co-operatively worldbuild and expand on the city with the DM in the process. Will you stage an elaborate heist at the Museum of Villainy? Fix a Wizard Duel for a down-and-out gambler? Explore the forgotten catacombs of the public graveyard? It's up to you! More here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmq7tyim4007bjs04bh2hluyy?q=moonlighters  Each of the player characters will have a day job, which will be narratively incorporated into the story. If your single dad Orc is an accountant by day. maybe they'll notice some irregularities in the companies magical accounts. If they're an exhausted sound technician for a bratty DJ, maybe they'll have some connections to the shadier side of the city. During a Session 0, we will all discuss the general tone of the game the players are in the mood for. Player characters could all be friends fresh out of college, living out a coming-of-age Jon Hughes movie (with oozes and werewolves), a group of reluctant oddballs flung together in a workplace comedy, or desperate individuals just trying to make ends meet in a brutal, unforgiving city. The choice will be communal, and can always evolve with the narrative. I will discuss privately what each player wants to see, and what they never want to see in game. I'll make sure everyone is on the same page without drawing attention to any individual player's needs. The games is $20 per session via Startplaying. Alternatively, you can message me if you would rather pay another way.

The campaign takes its place in the western Region of the continent of Cenaria. The continent used to be a lively place, your usual fantasy D & D World. Until the day of Wrath. one day a darkness spread across the world blocking out the sun. As the darkness spread with it came a disease. People who stayed there too long started to change. Their skin turned pale, their eyes became red and black and their veins started protruding with strange green coloring. With them the Pales were born. Most pales kept their sanity and physicality intact and could live with shortened lifespans and weakened bodies. But life was not yet over, people started fighting back, firstly making remedies to slow the effects of the sickness and eventually a magical marvel. The catalyst, these crystals were invented by a group of wizards far away from the western region, the first forms of the catalysts would protect those near it against the effects of the sickness. But as the technology of the catalyst grew it eventually became what we now call Grand Catalysts. Giant crystals in the hearts of cities. When kept alive these crystals would return the sunlight into the city protecting the citizens of any sickness and making it seem as if nothing had ever gone. But a foot outside the walls of the catalyst and the darkness would return. The party will start as a group of Swords for hire, or Kinnies. Kinnies are groups or parties that do odd jobs in and around cities. Sometimes their work can be in the grey zone or even fully illegal. Often they do the work and don't ask questions, as long as their paycheck comes in. Your group came together recently in the city of Bowthorpe, you don’t know much about each other but you just heard about a big job from your contractors.
