Description

Looking for Players – Grimdark Fantasy Campaign (D&D / Homebrew Setting) (This is 18+) A war-torn world stands on the edge of collapse. The kingdom of Elaria is unraveling under the weight of its own cruelty—slavery spreads through its cities, rebellions rise in the shadows, and entire nations fracture under shifting power. The Emerald Expanse pushes back against oppression, carving out territory through blood and defiance. The dwarven Draken Kingdom struggles to rebuild after a primordial disaster. And somewhere beyond reality itself, the Tower of Trials calls to those strong—or desperate—enough to enter. You are not heroes. Not yet. You are survivors, mercenaries, rebels, or something far worse—thrown into a world where morality is blurred, power is earned, and every choice carries weight. Campaign Themes Grimdark fantasy and sunshine/rainbow (moral ambiguity, heavy consequences) War, rebellion, and political intrigue Exploration of brutal systems (slavery, control, survival) Reality-bending dungeons and high-concept trials Character-driven storytelling with long-term impact What to Expect A living world that reacts to your decisions Multiple factions with conflicting goals High-risk encounters (combat is deadly and meaningful) Opportunities for diplomacy, betrayal, and power-building Unique locations ranging from underground slave markets to reality-warping towers Starting Point Players will begin in or around the conflict zones between major powers, with early hooks including: Rebel operations within hostile territory Infiltration and extraction missions Encounters with unstable magical phenomena Rumors of the Tower of Trials resurfacing Tone & Player Fit This campaign is and isn't lighthearted. It deals with: Dark themes Harsh environments Ethical dilemmas Whimsical fantasy corny jokes and etc Looking for players who: Enjoy immersive roleplay Are comfortable with heavy narrative themes Can engage with serious worldbuilding Want their choices to matter Details System: D&D 5e (heavily homebrewed elements) Party Size: 4–6 players Style: RP-focused with meaningful combat Setting: Custom world (Elaria and surrounding nations) If you have any uncomfortabilities please speak to me the DM to better handle the situation  (this post is now closed until further notice! thank you all who applied)

Hollows of Iparea [Text-based] Pitch: You have arrived on a dying planet with no recollection of how you got there. Something is terribly wrong, that much is certain, and worse yet, the planet itself appears to be living. Thralls of an unintelligible hive mind are the only remnants of intelligent life to be seen, and you see echoes of past civilizations in abandon everywhere around you. Your crashed vessel and memories offer no help, and whatever happened here, your survival may depend on a species you cannot understand. System: 5e legacy Tools: Discord, Owlbear Rodeo (VTT). This is a text campaign, you do not need a mic. D&DBeyond sheets are preferred but any others are allowed. Schedule: Fridays, 5 PM - 7 PM EST. Seats: 6 Expectations Game: Players of all experience levels are allowed, but I ask that beginners have a basic understanding of the game's mechanics and know how to create a character beforehand. My DMs are always open for any questions, comments, or concerns about the game. I ask that players don't use AI for responses or for character art. Flying races and Warforged (they don't exist in the setting) are banned. Rudimentary firearms are a thing, and gunslingers are allowed, but modern firearms and technology do not exist. Homebrew is not allowed for classes, and any other homebrew must be run by me. UA and official WotC material is, of course, allowed. 18+ is preferred, and this game is strictly 16+. Characters start at 5th level. Themes: In a nutshell: semi-sci-fi, high fantasy/cosmic horror. This game's overall themes revolve around memory, identity, and isolation. This game also involves elements of survival horror, and resources will be tracked (and scarce). Tone: Overall surreal, bleak, and atmospheric. Safety Tools: TTRPG Safety Checklist & pre-game interview. You can reach out to me at @paws4reason on Discord.

This campaign is exploring the magic in politics behind dragons when they are the majority. Ancient history revolving around dragons why some retained sentience and others become wild beasts. While others use their magical and biological material to enhance themselves. The gods are here but they're insignificant for some odd reason.
