Hail and well met, adventurers!
I'm going to run the intrductory adventure
Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. I will accomodate up to
5 players. See below for the adventure synopsis and details.
Summary
"Ages ago, benevolent metallic dragons imprisoned a rampaging and evil red dragon beneath the ocean floor off the shores of the now named Sword Coast. But the red dragon’s fury at her imprisonment was so great it caused undersea volcanic activity which formed Stormwreck Isle. The imprisoned dragon’s powerful magic has left a permanent mark on Stormwreck Isle. That magic drew other dragons to the island, making it a recurring battlefield in the conflict between good metallic dragons and evil chromatic dragons. Several of these mighty dragons have died on this island over the centuries, each leaving behind a spiritual scar which continues to effect the island in unpredictable ways.
Eventually, from the immanent strife of this battleworn island, a haven of peace grew up. Dragon's Rest, a cloister of hermits and ascetics and led by Elder Runara, now resides on the island, serving as a sanctuary for those fleeing a life of violence and seeking reconciliation. But the ageless conflict between metallic and chromatic dragons continues to threaten the serenity of Dragon's Rest, and Elder Runara needs your help in at last bringing peace to its shores."
The adventure is intended as a one-shot, but I plan to run it as a mini 3-6 week campaign. It will take your characters from levels 1-4
Game System
DnD 5e/5.5e
Concept
This game takes place in the Forogtten Realms, a classic high fantasy setting filled with the well-known races of humans, dwarves, elves, gnomes, and more. The adventure specifically takes place just off the coast of the continent of Faerun. Travel is dangerous, magic is prevelant, and the setting has a long, rich history, which means adventurers have a lot to live up to!
Aim
The purpose of this adventure is to help Elder Runara resolve various magical anomelies which are affecting the island and disrupting the peace of the cloister. Therefore, whatever their backstories, your characters must be willing and motivated to participate in the adventure.
Character creation rules:
- Permitted sourcebooks include: 2024 Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Heroes of Faerun, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and the Sword Coast's Adventurer's Guide (Legacy options are not allowed) - Standard Array or Point Buy to generate ability scores - Starting equipment only - Non-evil aligntments only (I'm interested in running a games for heros, not murder-hobos)
Time Zone
Canberra ACT (GMT+10)
A virtual one-to-one meeting with me is required before a player is accepted into the campaign.
As a DM, I lean towards the Narrative side of this game. I'm more interested in cultivating an interesting story for your
character not a game for your
build. I also frequently use Theatre of the Mind. So if you are a mechanically/technically oriented player, this is not the game for you.
New and experienced players are both welcome.
