Get a taste of everything applied to the system of Daggerheart, and find out how it works for you! ✨ Whimsy - Although the campaign is short, the city of Hush and its inhabitants carry a certain whimsy and magic within them, making them fun personalities to engage with, so the session aims to be fun and light-hearted. ⏳ No Prep One Shot - You don't need to do any work; just show up to the game, and I'll teach all the rules and offer characters. Just sit down, learn the game, play a session and we're done! 🐣 Kid Friendly - Sablewood Messengers's only heavy themes are the inclusion of Undeads and Violence. The undeads can be easily re-skinned to something more friendly, and the combat can be quirky and silly if needed. Other than that, it's magic, fairies and songs! # In-Depth Campaign Structure Designed with beginners in mind, Sablewood Messengers is often called the Quickstart. It was released alongside Daggerheart as a free content to help players get into the game easily. It's a single session which includes explaining the game, going through two possible combats, and social encounters with a magical city and a quirky fairy grandma, with a lot of room for players and characters to interact and become closer throughout their travel. Characters are included in the module, and they have a suggestion of how they connect already included in their backgrounds, as well as questions prepared to help players strengthen these bonds. The game's rules are very simple, and can be explained within an hour. # Preparing For The Session You'll need accounts on Roll20 and Discord. No character creation needed! I'm Erick, and I have been a regular RPG player since 2015, but I've been involved in the world of RPGs and have been a fan since I was a little kid, when my brother used to GM for me. I'm a big fan of game design in general; so I also enjoy creating content and tweaking the rules as needed. I've played a few other systems, but D&D 5th Edition is my favorite by far. RPGs are my favorite hobby, and I believe they have immense narrative, rational and therapeutic value. I am happy to teach newcomers and engage with veterans alike. Although I embrace heavy themes and take the narrative itself seriously within the game, our communion as writers and players is something very light and comfortable for me. We'll use battlemaps for all scenes that include a scuffle, and mostly use theater of the mind for the rest of the scenes; although I do share the images that I use as reference for locations, when there are any. We'll use music to set the vibe as we play, as well as some sound effects, all integrated within Roll20. I got a firm grasp of the rules, and I am lax with them, trying to create a flow on scenes, without losing balance. Set in a fabled Age of Rhapsody — paying homage to the Bronze Age, Greek tragedy and comedy, and classical myth — Echoes of Fate is a homebrew Campaign Frame for Daggerheart exploring lies and prophecies, the making of myths, and what it costs to break destiny. You are not the hero the epic was written for. No prophecy names you. No Muse has claimed your story...yet. So what do you make of a life the songs haven't told yet? If you are a fan of myth retellings such as EPIC: the Musical, A Thousand Ships, The Song of Achilles, come sit by the fire. Some notes on the setting: •  The gods are present but distracted — drawing their eye may bring you greatness, or ruin. Or maybe you'll be drawn to the Mysteries instead? •  No prophecy protects you: your choices ripple outward, and could alter canon myths and even the course of the war itself. •  All stories are welcome, this table is LGBTQ+ friendly. •  New to tabletop, Daggerheart, or Greek myth? This table is beginner-friendly. And no Classics degree required, just curiosity. EU-friendly hours (evenings except weekends where I can do mornings or early afternoons) or US- friendly (late afternoons/early evening). Sessions can be weekly or bi-weekly through StartPlaying.com, at 20$ per session. About me: - I've been a Dungeon Master for almost 8 years and I have plenty of experience in guiding new players. I prefer Theater of the Mind with minimal VTT support. - Your story will matter and I love a long, narrative background I can weave into the main story. - I do character voices!  - I also do character artworks :D Safety tools: Session 0, Lines and Veils, Consent checklist and X cards. I prefer to be honest in advance: Echoes of Fate draws from real life in addition to myth. Slavery was present in Ancient Greece, as was mysogyny, war and violence. Hai :3  I've been DMing online for about 2 years now but I've never tried irl, so here I'm trying to start that :p forgive me if I'm rather amateurish  I have two campaigns that I'll decide between based on the player makeup, one a time-loop sandbox I've home-brewed, and another a tighter dungeon crawl, still fairly nonlinear, based on Fear&Hunger. Before any of them, I'd like to run a oneshot to see what type of players I have  Generally, I don't tend to stick super closely to rules as written, and tend to not plan nameless enemies. I also don't have a super firm grasp on the rules themselves lol so it'll be a learning experience for all of us (so generally, not trying for the highest heights of difficulty)  In terms of players, I'm hoping to find people who aren't super old (I'm sixteen, ideally be under 20) and who are ok with the queers™ (don't be an arse basically)  So ya :3 if you want a roleplay-planning focused campaign rather than turn by turn battle strategy this is probably the campaign for you ✨  If your interested, DM me on discord at 'lavenderthesillycat'
