The Lord of the Rings - Bree and the Barrow Downs

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
The Lord of the Rings Bree and the Burrow Downs - Set in Middle-earth using the MERP Module - Bree and the Barrow downs - Following Advanced Dungeon & Dragons 2nd Edition rules. - Preferably in person at The Rouge and Raven in Carthage, TN - Open to virtual as a last resort - Once weekly for 1-1.5 hours for 16 weeks Bree-land is a small, settled area in central Eriador that lies just to the east of the Tyrn Gorthad, the ancient Barrow-downs. The region has been almost continuously inhabited since the First Age. In T.A. 1700 Bree is not much different than it would beat the time of the War of the Ring some 1300 years later — a prosperous, quiet but sometimes threatened farming community standing near the intersection of the Great East Road and the Greenway, the two major thoroughfares of the Kingdom of Arnor. Bree-land is quite small and contains four villages within its boundaries: Bree, on the western slope of Bree Hill; Staddle, on the other side of the hill; Combe, a few miles to the east, and Archel, which lies a few miles northeast of Bree. The Chetwood, a good- sized but tame forest is also considered part of Bree-land and lies just north of Archet. The whole region is a generally pleasant, peaceful, and law-abiding spot where Men and Hobbits dwell together in peace, facing danger but rarely — unless one ventures to the Barrow-downs in search of gold and jewels and magic items, or is unfortunate enough to run into the bandits that plague the highways outside of Bree-land proper. But the people of Bree-land generally ignore the haunted and foreboding Barrow-downs to the west. These grassy hills hold the graves of the Kings, Queens, Princes and aristocrats of Arnor. In the years after the Plague the mounds became haunted by evil spirits from Angmar and Rhudaur called Wights. The downs are rich in treasure and adventure, but it would be prudent for the adventurous to seek the council of the wise before trying their luck in the ancient and eerie tombs. LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
The world of Phelun is an old one that has seen many conflicts throughout its history. While times seem peaceful, beneath the surface there are whisperings of the Dragon Queen stirring within her prison, strange events occurring upon the continent of Ines, and adventure awaiting upon the lost continent of Asoris. This is an 18+ only server that is a mix of go at your own pace pbp and west marches living world elements.  https://discord.gg/X8dFsNrjBw This is a new Server that has been worked on by one DM for 3 months. It currently features the following:     PbP forums for those who prefer slower RPs.     Living world channels where characters can explore the lands or meet one another in real time in the pub.     DM run Tables. (We are looking for more DMs to help run tables)     Mining, gathering, fishing, and exploration through Avrae commands (commands are ready, but random tables need to be filled out more for variety).     Random in game daily events (not tied to irl days, and still being worked on).     Market to buy items.     Guilds (will need leaders).     Job command to earn coin and a living world channel to RP the work in. (currently being reworked)     Custom Drinking command for the pub.     Player housing.

New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Elaria: Breaking the Chains Elaria is a land of powerful kingdoms, ancient magic, and prosperity built upon slavery. Humans, orcs, beastkin, prisoners, and countless others are bought and sold while those in power grow wealthy from their suffering. Within the slaves social circle classes have been established, the house slaves see themselves as better then those who work the grounds and so on. The party begins as ordinary adventurers with no army, rebellion, or grand destiny. But as they travel across Elaria and witness the cruelty of its kingdoms, they will have opportunities to fight back. You will not start in a inn or town, it will be a suprise Freeing a few slaves can become rescuing a village. A rescued village can become allies. Allies can become soldiers and soldiers can become a rebellion. The players will build that rebellion themselves—recruiting allies, establishing bases, gathering resources, liberating territory, and deciding how far they are willing to go to end slavery. Eventually, Elaria's kings will learn their names. The only question is whether history will remember them as heroes, rebels, or something far more dangerous.
