Description

— Overview — System: Original Hybrid System (PbtA + WoD + D&D5e) Platform: Owlbear Rodeo + Discord VC Schedule: Saturday 7pm - 9pm pst ( weekly ) Setting: Vancouver, BC, Canada Deadline: Looking to run the Session 0 by April 11th 2026 — Hook — You've forged your own lives in the supernatural underworld; your own jobs, routines, the other bullshit you have to deal with in this decaying pit we call Society™. However, something disrupts it when word gets out that INTERPOL is in town investigating criminal activity; vigilante violence, arms dealing, activity that you have a hand in one way or another. If you don't want to catch yourself in a jailcell or point blank range, you must find out who is behind this investigation and shut their operation down quietly. Can you take on these intruders without blowing your cover? — About the Game Master — Hello Netizens! I’m looking to test out a new TTRPG I've designed. My name is Dryant (25M). I have several years of GM & Player experience with TTRPGs like DnD 5e, VtM V5, and Monster of the Week. I enjoy roleplay and character development just as much as combat. — Concept — This system derives inspiration from Monster of the Week, World of Darkness, and D&D 5e in terms of mechanics. In terms of lore, I got some inspiration from World of Darkness, and is based on the shared universe in my YouTube channel (Feel free to ask to check it out!) The dice used depends on the scene; 2d6 for narrative social scenes, and d20 for combat. From Monster of the Week (and other PbtA games), I established fixed success and failure tiers and borrowed World of Darkness' flexible skill and stat combinations. Skills combine with stats to reflect how your character approaches a task rather than just what they're doing — the same Firearms skill reads differently depending on whether you pair it with Dexterity to shoot, Intelligence to analyze, or Charisma to do a trick. The setting of this game operates in a certain Nobledark register — the world is genuinely dark, institutions are corrupt by design, and change is essentially beyond reach. What isn't beyond reach is personal change, small resistances, and the decision to act with integrity in a world that punishes it.

Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
Quick Info: LGBTQ+ friendly. POC friendly. (Seriously, want more poc/women/queer/etc players! Not only white men!) Capitalist unfriendly. No bigotry. No sexual violence. 25+ only. 30+ preferred. Hope to play every other week. Looking to start up in a couple months, after getting a group and some backstories going. System: MSH/Advanced FASERIP with homebrew. Points Buy character creation. Some powers disallowed. Interest Form: https://forms.gle/PZijF6Uiw2ptTXBGA Session Structure: Sessions – Get into a fight, foil a villain’s plot, a smattering of interpersonal drama. The meat and potatoes. This is when you punch a living bulldozer through a building. In-Between sessions – Play by post to forward more of the interpersonal stories, background stories, investigations, and other plot threads not covered in sessions. Feel free to engage with this as much or as little as you wish. Will begin with one-shots. Over time plot threads will naturally weave themselves in and out, forming stories, similar to how comics of the era were written. Heroes may encounter people and situations from their past. Villains may return for revenge, group together for more dangerous plans, etc. Setting: The year is 1984, as envisioned by the 1960s. Technology is retro-futuristic. Many modern devices do not exist. Many older devices exist in more advanced fashions. The internet is for hacker nerds and government organizations. Cell phones are not available. Pay phones are widely available, and are generally video phones. Young adults/teenagers lean towards being hipsters, beatniks, freakers, hippies. There are still a good amount of squares. Middle aged + are mostly squares. The elderly are Great War vets. Cities and countries are all fictional, though based on real world places. The colonization of the West was far less brutal and ugly. There is still a Cold War with Communist powers. The police force does not exist. Instead, they are replaced by Safety Officers; Trained for de-escalation. Not particularly inclined to violence. They still have a Detective Bureau, Riot Squad, and small Mech Squad. Guns that shoot bullets were banned after the Great War. Instead, stun pistols are common. Knock people out and leave them with a groggy headache. Murders still happen, through other methods. There are still obvious rich/poor social divides, but racism/sexism/homophobia/etc is not nearly as prevalent. The one exception is mutants. Society shuns mutated humans to varying degrees. Inspiration: ‘60s Doom Patrol. Morrison Doom Patrol / Animal Man. ‘70s Defenders. ‘80s Suicide Squad. Power Man & Iron Fist. Copra. The Jam. Madman. The Maxx. Venture Bros season 6. Goofy hold overs from the Silver Age meets a newfangled “gritty realism.” Morals are becoming more grey. Tongue-in-cheek play meets serious characters. Characters: C-List street-level supers in a mid-sized city. Dramatic personal lives. Classic costumes. You come up with your basic character concept, and we will work together to flesh it out and fit the character into the world. Details will be broad at first, with more specifics emerging during the course of the game. Examples: Techno-barbarian from a Kirby-stlyed future fantasy world after the fall and rebirth of man. Reincarnated Moon Princess from the dead ancient culture on the moon. Famous b-movie actor/model turned super spy and master of disguise. Unhoused person who fell asleep in the wrong alley. Celebrity fitness instructor and motivational speaker.

D&D 3.5e Overhaul/Homebrew

Homebrew

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Howdy hi!! Shut-in world builder wizard here, just looking for cool people to bring to me and friends' online table for a bespoke variation of 3.5e D&D that focuses less on min-maxing/power-scaling and more on curiosity of the player, experimentation and a whole new toy box of fresh mechanics to dive into! Some of those mechanics share DNA with 5-5.5e concepts and might be familiar to players coming in from the most recent editions, and others have been forged from the mad scientist lab sessions of me and mine over several campaigns! We've got weird new races--psychic plant people, immortal deer fey, juggernaught dwarf-orc hybrids, sentient amnesiac undead, need I go on?! We've got intriguing reworks on old classics-- broad new specialization AND generalization options for casters, exciting new martial feats for bruisers of all types, and much needed re-balances for the discrepancies between Druid and Ranger! We've got an in-house, homemade character sheet template made in Microsoft Excel that tracks your bonuses, debuffs, gear weight, weapon rolls and all your stats in real time! We've got an entirely homebrewed, simple to understand, elemental damage counter system with a table of effects that completely turns the nature of how players and enemies utilize different damage types on its head! All this, and a chill, low-stress, inclusive table of nerds too! Sound good? Then give the profile a poke, and come see if your new favorite homebrewed TTRPG system will be ours! =)
