It has been 460 days since the darkest event in eon city history. The day when the heroes failed and 9,100 lives were lost in the great cataclysm known as the sacrifice. When the teen super hero known as cavalry died trying to prevent a giant meteor from wiping out the whole town and destroyed 10 city blocks in the process. Now strict rules are in effect throughout the whole city. Any vigilante work being done by any individual under the age of 21 must be sponsored by a hero and or group of heroes or they will be punished under the full effect of the law. The town's premier group of heroes, the Guardians victorious. Led by The Century Sentry the immortal warrior, The champion of eon city and the guardian eternal . Has his own crack team of young heroes known as the guardians of tomorrow. You are not a part of that team in fact your team's sponsor doesn't even trust them. You were sought out by someone else, someone less conventional. The Silver Specter-Former mob boss, multimillionaire owner of Enfield engineering, Magi-tech pioneer and for all intents and purposes the former arch enemy and hated rival of Century Sentry for the last 46 years. He has sought you out for three reasons. One he does not trust Century sentry or his private superhero team, the guardians victorious as far as he can throw them. The second is that he promised his late wife the gentlewoman thief madame moonlight he would do something to try and give back to the city that's already suffered so much and three he thinks if he doesn't intervene in your life to give you this opportunity there's a strong chance you could end up a supervillain on the wrong side of the tracks. Are you a protege who just had a very public falling out with your mentor, A newborn made by a supervillain to try and concur a city trying to rebuild, a bull who can't catch a break when the cops come to ask you about the private property you accidently destroyed when trying to catch a purse snatcher. A doomed with an ancient alien artifact that whispers for you to cause grave misfortune on others. A nova with C.O.U.N.T.E.R agents harassing you for not using your water manipulation to clean up flood damage up a whole city block. A soldier trying to investigate why a former villain wants to make a team of heroes or maybe your something this town hasn't even seen before. He's looking for those who the so-called heroes of eon city wouldn't even give a second glance to those who need not just a second chance but an opportunity to prove there more than just masked menaces that they have the potential to be the greatest heroes the city has ever seen and figure out what"s going on with Century Sentry. Hello perspective player! I just stumbled on Steel Rift and have made a lite RP, Living World Arena/Tourney/League server!. It is Play-By-Post, with me handling the map and rulings so that it can be time-zone and time-available agnostic! Players are free to schedule between themselves if they want to resolve a match over Tabletop Sim with me as Arbiter, but no one is reqiured to do that. (Also feel free to send pics of physical minis if you want to use/display them! The system is mini-agnostic for anyone interested in playing Steel Rift locally.) There is 1 change I have made so that its easier to manage as a PbP game (inches to Hex Tiles), and there is currently 1 very simple homebrew added. You wont need to buy a copy of the rules, as I have them available on the server. Advanced Rules will be added over time, both to not overwhelm players but also so I can cherry pick what works with the League and missions that I will present players with (and to a lesser extent the flimsy lore I have for this game-world). Players will be a General Purpose Administrator/Logistics A.I., usually manufactured and purchased by Militaries and MegaCorps for admin work on large vessels and in company-cities. In this case though, the players have been purchased by an Underboss of a Redlight planet. They'll be placed in control of the crime faction's Blood Sport Assets in the burgeoning, new Mecha Coliseums popping up all around the seedy ecumenopolis. You'll put together HE-Vs and teams and enter them into Bouts, Tournaments, Leagues, etc. Obtain purses and prizes from wins, bet on other player's matches for side profit, and go Rogue to get out from under the crime boss's thumb! Eventually players will be able to accept contracts off world for MegaCorps and Sovereignties (ala BattleTech style) and will be able to flex more of the mission types and advanced rules over time. I'm running it via a purpose made Discord server and using Tabletop Sim purely so the maps and models will be a bit more exciting than a 2d, top-town grid. There is currently only 1 mechanical roll tied to Roleplay itself (subject to change depending on what players decide to get up to). You can always hit me with ideas and things you'd like to see that we can work together to make happen! If anyone is interested feel free to DM me and ask any questions you might have! Looking for player interested in testing custom game system via narrative roleplay and learning the system itself. Grasianil: Custom D6-based system utilizing Maptool primarily, heavily stream-lined to support large, quick battles. Versatility allows vehicles, mechs, and spaceships, utilizing unique mechanics, in-addition to single players. Minimal delays owing to macros within Maptool, utilizing pop-up menus, automatic calculation of damage, debuffs, armor, etc. Highly adaptable, with streamlined rules offering as much complexity as is desired, and based on the setting. Developed by myself and my partner who passed away earlier this year. Supports several original fantasy and sci fi worlds of varying types, from traditional western high fantasy, to detailed low fantasy, from space opera-style sci fi, to more realistic settings. In-addition to original settings not listed here, it has been adapted to: Legend of Zelda Battletech Middle Earth Forgotten Realms Mystara Shadowrun and Cyberpunk Pre-existing settings are not played strictly-canon, but consistency is stressed. Medium amount of experience in RPing requested, as well as an open mind to learn a new system. Maptool 1.11.5 needed, Discord used primarily for all text but other programs are an option, Google sheets used for some settings. Time-zone of GM is US Central. RPing otherwise done via text on Discord, but other options open to discussion.
