The Pitch When you were young you grew up with stories of the gods moon, sun and star. They were there for you, took care of you, and inspired you. The Sun, bright and ever-present, would light the path and grow the world. The Star would guide the people and inspire those who looked to her for such. The moon was stalwart in his defence of the mortals below him, willing to be the villain in the dark if that meant that his mortals would be safe.  The three Gods often competed in followers and worshipers, all in good fun. Seeing mortals as their children, each striving to be their favorite parent in a way. The yearly festivals are all based on this friendly competition, but those who are very devoted followers claim that this balance between the three keeps the world in tune.  This was life for the people of Polarius.  Until two years ago when a new king was crowned. King Tonto worshiped a god known only as Mukoro, said to be a previously unknown God of prosperity and ease. Mukoro skyrocketed in popularity over the last two years and people have noticed changes in the world linked to the domains of the Three. Mukoro reassures its followers that it controls those domains now, but some of the population are uneasy. Hello and welcome to the world of Arithea! Arithea is a world where gods walk among the people, magic is everywhere, and the stars are alive with knowledge of the past. The year is 3999 AR, just before the elder gods return to the mortal plane for the thousand year festival. It should be a time for celebration, but something dark is brewing. There’s whispers about a dangerous magic that turns people mad and tensions growing in the south of the realm. Not that those whispers concern you, of course. After all, you’ve found yourself in the kingdom of Eridia, a place known for its peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. Regardless of how or why you came here, you’re here now, and you have received a mysterious letter signed by the head of the Queen’s guard requesting your help. This is where our story begins. ——————————————————— I’m a 21 year old experienced player (but new dm) that has created an entirely home brew world to run this game in. My big inspirations are Percy Jackson, Studio Ghibli, Genshin Impact, and the podcast Malevolent, though that one doesn’t translate as well as the others since my world isn’t horror. I’m a big fan of whimsy and the rule of cool, so if you’ve got a wacky character idea, this might just be the place for you! I really want to go into depth about your backstory and make you care about not only your character, but the group as a whole. This will be a very rp focused game, with very little but meaningful combat. I plan for it to be mostly serious in terms of tone, but I am also not going to shy away from the occasional ridiculous side quest or silly bit. I will warn you now that I can’t really do voices and accents for the life of me, but I’m going to try my best. I don’t know exactly when this game will start because it will depend on how quickly I find players, but I’m hoping for late August or September. I plan for this to be a very long term game, so please only apply if you’re going to be in it for the long haul. We will be starting with every other week, but we may switch to every week once I get a hang of prepping for/running sessions. ——————————————————— Ground rules: 18+ only. I am a new DM. This is the first game I am running ever. There will inevitably be hiccups and mistakes but such is life. If you’re looking for a super polished game, this probably isn’t the one for you, but I have hope that we’ll still have fun, everyone starts somewhere and I’m excited to start here!
