Parental supervision on Groupfinder

A parent or a legal guardian can create Groupfinder accounts that are connected to their own account. These are supervised accounts.

What is a supervised account?

The guardian creates the account with a name and an e-mail address. The person who uses the account gets a link by e-mail and sets their own password. The account shows a notice that it is supervised, on its posts and in its conversations.

How to create a supervised account

  1. Log in to your own Groupfinder account. If you do not have one, register first.
  2. Open your Account page and open the Parental supervision section.
  3. Enter a name and an e-mail address for the new account. The e-mail address cannot already have a Groupfinder account.
  4. Select "Create and send the registration link".
  5. The person who uses the account opens the link in the e-mail and sets a password. The link works for 7 days. If it expires, send a new link from the same section.

After the account is created, you can see its contacts, hide posts by tag and buy a supporter subscription in the same section.

Which content is hidden?

A supervised account never sees posts with the NSFW tag. The guardian can also hide posts with other tags.

Can the guardian read conversations?

No. The guardian sees a list of the players and games that the supervised account contacted or was contacted by, with the newest first. The list shows names, posts and dates, but no messages. From the list, the guardian can block a user for the supervised account or report a user to our moderators.

If you talk to a supervised account

You see a notice at the top of the conversation. The guardian can see that you talked to the supervised account, but cannot read your messages. Write as you would in front of a parent, and follow our code of conduct.

Subscriptions

Only the guardian can buy or cancel a supporter subscription for a supervised account.

When the supervised person becomes an adult

Contact us, and we will remove the supervision from the account.
