Find a D&D (or any other tabletop) group to play with

Groupfinder is a looking-for-group/players platform for any and all tabletop games. Whether you play online or in-person.

1,020 active player and 558 game posts
What is an active post?
A post is active while its owner keeps it open. Bumping the post, editing it, or receiving messages keeps it active. After 60 days with no activity, or if the owner does not visit for 60 days, the post turns inactive and leaves this list. The owner can activate it again at any time.
Example game post: To Erebor and back again, a One Ring campaign in Shire, 8 of 9 players Example player profile: Strider, playing Pathfinder 2E online and in Bree

Is Groupfinder free?

Yes. Posting a game, publishing a player profile, browsing every listing and messaging other players all cost nothing, and no card is needed to sign up. If you want to support us, an optional subscription adds extras on top - more games listed at once, auto-bump, every match for your post and custom colours. Finding a group and finding players stays free either way.

Can I find an online D&D group?

Yes. Plenty of the games here run online, over voice chat or a virtual tabletop (a browser app that stands in for the map and the dice). Filter the games list by Online and by D&D 5E, then message the game master. If nothing fits, post your own player profile and let a game master find you.

Find a D&D group

Which systems can I search by?

D&D 5E, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Daggerheart and dozens more - and not only roleplaying games. Warhammer, Catan and other tabletop games sit in the same list. Tick the ones you want, then stack language, location and the days you are free, so you only see games you could actually join.

Original Dungeons & Dragons

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Whatever the opposite of a railroaded adventure is, this open-world campaign is that. The rules are simple. The world is complicated. What happens to it is up to the players. You will hear rumors, discover locations, meet competing factions, and encounter problems, but the game will not tell you which direction you must take. Some things the players have chosen to do so far: Join the local mercenaries to learn the ways of the sword as a mage - Retrieve an old lady's purse - Become war chieftain of an orc village - Decapitate a wight with a cursed sword Also some new races that are crafted to play and feel very different: - Pixie - fly, perfect hiding, cast phantasmal forces at will, insults cause physical damage to you - Orc - infra-vision, can recruit monsters more easily Races and classes are kind of blended together. Multiple characters are encouraged. Each choice allows you to do something that appears to let you break the game, while saddling you with something else that seems debilitating. This is by design, and players have come up with a few ways of getting around and abusing these things to the betterment of the story and lore. - Fighting-Man - Doesn't have to actually be a guy, but is a human. Can use all weapons and armor. - Magic-User - Has one spell, one "shot". Can meet with magic learned peers to exchange knowledge. The most notorious spell in the game right now is Charm Person because it doesn't wear off like in later editions. - Cleric - The best of the two above, but must be Good, and by the Law. - Elf - Essentially a Magic-Use/Fighting-Man with extra perks and ties with elves and the ability to sense magic, enhanced senses, etc. but capped at a certain point - Hobbit - Capped early, but can hide flawlessly in urban areas and snipe REAL good with slings. No magic. - Dwarf -  Capped early, but high resistance, good with all axes and hammers, can sense what stone touches and its shape, and ties with and extensive knowledge of dwarven culture and holds. There are major events going on in the background but instead of shoving players in the middle of them, I showcase the developments of those events that come about, for good or ill. The players decide what to investigate, whom to trust, which dangers are worth confronting, and what their characters want to accomplish. How many hirelings do you need to bring with you? How much can you do successfully alone to maximize profit? Play alone, 1-on-1 with DM and player, or up to 10 others at once. The world continues to develop around the party. Factions pursue their own plans, NPCs remember your actions, enemies adapt, settlements can change, and neglected situations may grow better or worse. Player choices can permanently reshape the campaign world. Let me know if you are interested!

Threydan
Hello, my name is Threydan and i am looking for a game for me and my friend to join. I am 25 and my friend is 24. We both have a good understanding of the rules and have some experience under our belt (my friend more than me). We were hoping to find a game that is both serious but also light hearted. In other words: we wanna take the game serious, but we also wanna have the space to goof off and do silly things. In terms of combat/roleplay we hope for around a 50/50. 60/40 or 40/60 works for us too. We hope to join a new campaign, but are okay with one that has been going for a few sessions. We both have characters in mind we wanna play, not fully fledged out though as we would still wanna make sure our characters fit the setting and party. My friend is planning on playing a sorcerer and i'm planning on playing a wizard. The dynamic we hope to go for is a sort of rivalry, where we both try to say that our class is better and try to one up eachother, along with some banter. Naturally though we don't want to overdo this as we don't wanna hog the spotlight for the 2 of us and we wanna interact with the rest of the party as well. Lastly some technical details. We are available on weekdays in the evening. Preferably starting at around 19:30. We both have some experience with roll 20 and my friend has experience in foundryVTT (i won't mind learning foundryVTT). If you think we'd be a good fit in your campaign, feel free to reach out. I try to check this website every day, but i might miss a day sometimes.

Update log - October 2026 "Ten thousand and you"

We admit. This Update log comes a "bit" late. But for good reasons. We've been busy, busy working on Groupfinder. After all, we reached 10,000 users and the platform is actively growing. New people are discovering Groupfinder and adding their player profiles or using it to look for their games. For your constant and reliable support, we are very grateful. Thank you to all of you. So lets take a look at what were the main updates and improvements in September. Groupmanager The group managing side of the platform is evolving and growing. We have introduced a number of various tweaks and improvements to make it an even better tool for you and your group. Tiles Multiple new tiles have been added to the Groupmanager, allowing groups to add rulebooks, characters and monsters (from Roll20 and D&D Beyond) to the dashboard of your group's page. You have full control over what you find necessary and useful and what makes the manager useful to you. If you like the concept of the tiles but dont see one that matches your need - you can simply build your own and add it to the tiles library. Your Groupmanager dashboard is yours - customize it by adding relevant tiles to your particular group or game. /images/general-media/1792593736_15rGmolf.png Various other improvements and tweaks have been implemented to make the whole dashboard easier to use and giving the GMs more control over what users can have access to and what you want to keep private. State of tabletop We also posted an updated version of our user analysis in the form of "State of tabletop - 2026". Looking at what you are using Groupfinder for - which game systems, what format and how the ratio of players-to-games looks like. It is definitely an interesting read - and anyone curious about numbers and data is more than welcome to take a look and see what conclusions we were able to make. Messenger and chat The messenger has undergone quite a few design changes - making it more modern and user friendly. The initial approach needed proper love and care. We finally got around to refreshing the way the messenger feels and behaves. Including various performance improvements to help make it even better. Getting in touch with groups or players is now even easier and familiar with how the messengers on other platforms work. Player profiles Players can now find the "Additional info" tab in their player profile page. There you can fill questionnaires to determine your playstyle and preferences, making it easier for others to see what kind of a player you are and whether you'd be a good fit for their game. You can also list your previous game history to give you a space to show off all the games you've been a part of. /images/general-media/1792593833_yNKIsawr.png In addition to the Additional info tab, you will also find a "Characters" tab. If you are waiting to play a specific character concept, feel free to show it off to others. Either to better show others what kind of characters you are planning to play. Or just show off characters you've played in the past. If a character you've created has a themesong or music. Add that as well - give the readers the full experience of who that character is. The Library We have redesigned multiple parts of the library to bring everything up to date with the various bits and pieces that were updated in the past. More tools, game systems, creators and events have been added. And you can suggest more for us to add if you feel like there is something still missing. More focus and room has been given to projects to post updates and news for their projects. Either a new podcast episode gets released, a major update to the tool platform or just something to let others know you are still actively working on it. And more There have been other, smaller server-side improvements to make sure the platform stays fast, easy to use and mostly bug-free. And various tweaks in different parts of the platform that, while important and necessary, would eventually make this Update log too long. Some of those updates were implemented in October, some updates that are live will be discussed in next month's Update log. As this log gets posted a bit later than we'd like, it sits in a weird limbo between September and October. But again, thank you for being here, using Groupfinder and hopefully telling others about the platform. Till next time

Monster of the Week
Welcome to The Critshow - an actual play podcast where a group of friends uses tabletop role playing games to walk the line between humor, horror and heart. Focused on character-driven storytelling, our show features a variety of systems, from pulse-pounding horror to high fantasy to fast-paced sci-fi and beyond. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or new to TTRPGs, The Critshow offers engaging narratives, hilarious moments, and captivating arcs that will keep you coming back every Wednesday. Seasons 1-6: The Other Side of the Coin - Three friends find themselves as the last line of defense between the everyday world and the things that go bump in the night. Using Monster of the Week and other Powered by the Apocalypse games, the team works to save the Omniverse in this dimension hopping story. Season 7: The Clockwinders – Cadvini is in peril and it’s up to a group of Clockwinders in training to rediscover and repair the movement cores to save their world from the looming threat of destruction by fire, frost, and Fey. Using the Fate system in a world where there are eons of lost history, players unlock a world's worth of mysterious lore. Shows The Clockwinders The planet Cadvini is dying. Tidally locked, with one side a burning wasteland, and the other side a frozen forever-night, its people have managed to forge their lives in the temperate zone between. But the great old machines that keep the planet steady, called Movement Cores, have started to break down. The planet is beginning to spin, which could mean the ruin of all. Join Arkady ‘Kade’ Atwater, Einon Kerning, and Maxine Hollis as they venture across the wilds in order to find and fix the broken cores. They have Fey folk, aether-enhanced beasts, and all other manner of dangers to face… but this is their duty. They are The Clockwinders. Shadows in the Smoke Shadows in the Smoke tells the story of Hargrave House, a group of mysterious investigators in Victorian London who tackle the cases that Scotland Yard can’t or won’t. Amidst the monsters and murderers on the shadowy streets, an ancient power is growing in strength – a Queen in her own right, seeking vengeance against Victoria. Can the hunters discover her plot and save Queen and country, or will they succumb to their own darkness and become little more than the monsters they once hunted? Find out in Shadows in the Smoke, a Victorian gothic horror Actual Play utilizing The Between by Jason Cordova. Other Side of the Coin Our Monster of the Week campaign, wherein the characters are alternate-universe versions of the players themselves. Imagine that one minor thing could mean  the difference between our universe and another; something as simple as a  coin flip having the opposite result can lead to two drastically  different outcomes. We set the game in what is  essentially our world, albeit a version in which one small  decision changed the course of our hunters’ lives and set them on a  completely different path. While Monster of the Week will always  be the “home base” of our show to which our team will return,  our show is that it exists in a Powered By the  Apocalypse universe with many worlds… each of which conveniently seems  to be set within a different PBtA game!
