Looking for a pack of doomed fools to Hack and Slash their way through the infamous megadungeon, Rappan Athuk! This is a mindless, demented grind through 56 levels of pure dungeon idiocy. You will find no romance here, no political intrigue. Just an endless slog of pure unadulterated dungeoncrawling. The kind of D&D your dad used to play. Or maybe even your dad's dad.
I'm trying something new here (or old, really). And I realise this is definitely not for everybody. This will be a highly lethal, and generally pretty unfair campaign. You will plunder the depths of the deep underdark, just trying to survive, and limp back to daylight with hopefully a bit more treasure in your pockets than when you went in.
I want to try to capture the feel of the sprawling megadungeon. I want the players to explore an endless and inhospitable environment. There will be a lot of combat. It will be brutal. Characters will die, and your eight page backstory will not save you. But also, at the same time, I think I want to explore the logic behind the dungeon. I want to know why this enormous dungeon is the way it is. I want to investigate the ecology behind the dungeon. I want this vast and subterranean world to feel alive. There will still be capacity for plenty of roleplaying, lateral thinking, and factional diplomacy.
The vibe will be very tongue in cheek. Lethal, grim and perilous, yes. But certainly not very serious. If you're amused by dying in new and terrible ways, then you're going to get along just fine.
This will be an ongoing campaign, played weekly-ish, very LGBT and diversity friendly, but not friendly to life, generally. It will be played over Roll20 and Discord. Looking for chill peeps and chaotic vibes.
