Update log - August 2026 “Group manager”

Oh boy. This is going to be a lot of things to talk about. We have been busy and productive. But, as is tradition - here is an update on the updates we have added - We have Group manager, post listings updates, library redesign, timezone filtering, game applications and some more. So here we go. Group manager We'll start with the biggest new feature on Groupfinder. The Group manager. This has been something we have been working on since the start of the year and now finally got around to releasing it.  /images/general-media/1786708533_fHKbu2AS.png What it is, is the logical next step from Groupfinder's core function. Once you find a group, you can move everything to the manager and keep track of your players, your documents, notes, maps, images, links, polls, timefinder polls and session notes. As an integrated part of the platform it will help you keep everything organized and in one place. You can read more about the manager on this info page we created.  But to break it down simply, here is a list of all the base functionalities: /images/manager-info/group-overview.png Manager dashboard As a group owner/GM, you can create a manager group within moments - Enter the game's name, add some illustrative images and the group is created. On the dashboard you can start adding images, organizing documents and inviting your players. Asset management All documents most likely should not be visible to all members. You can set different view and edit permissions for each category. For example, create a separate category for "The Goblin Boys" and let only your goblin players see the contents. You can share forbidden goblin knowledge with only them. Or create a category, that everyone can see for your worldbuilding lore bits. The map of the world, the overall history of the campaign or an illustration of the tavernkeeper that already hates your PCs. We cannot describe all the possibilities and approaches, as we imagine you will all find a different way to interact and organize your games. And more power to you - this is your group manager, we only provide the framework. Player folders To keep specific assets private, you can find a folder on the right side of every member. This is a folder that only the group owner and that specific user can see - no external prying eyes allowed. Timefinder Scheduling is the biggest boss of tabletop gaming? Pretty much. While we cannot create a tool that completely solves it - we have timefinder - a scheduling poll system to settle on the next date that works for everyone. Session notes Players forgetting what happened last time, only to be reminded moments before the session starts that they are about to fight the BBEG? Write a session note after the last game and make it easier for your players to remember what happened last time and what the current direction is. Session notes can also be useful when trying to go back in time to know where the downward spiral of your campaign began. In addition players can leave session feedback. Things they liked and things they didn't. This will help any GM improve by focusing more on aspects the players enjoyed and cut back or rethink parts that didn't really jive with them. Polls, questionnaires and safety tools Group manager has interactive assets for you to use to settle on a specific question, understand the players' preferences and make sure everyone is enjoying the game, by having everyone fill a safety tool questionnaire. You never know if you don't ask. And there is more to discover. You will get the best idea of what and how the manager works by just tinkering and trying it out on your own. You can switch over to (and from) the manager by interacting with the finder/manager button in the menu. /images/general-media/1786709626_5gGr5AH5.png Post listings update We updated both the player and games listings pages. With added subcategories to quickly filter and find specific types of posts, you should find it easier to only find what you are looking for. /images/general-media/1786709750_LLT1IETF.png With this update, Groupfinder is now welcoming all West Marches games, when before we were rather hesitant about groups with no fixed amount of seats. Library redesign The library has slowly grown into one of our core elements. And the library, while practical, was due some attention. And boy - it definitely got some. With this update, the entries have a more logical layout. The tabletop community has tons of interesting games, projects and creators. We are all about empowering and helping you spread the word. /images/general-media/1786710068_3ifxmq5c.png If we created an entry for you in the past - be sure to visit your page and claim it. Once we approve your claim, you will have access to editing and improving it. And if one of your favourite creators, projects or game systems is in the library, be sure to pop over and click that "Recommend" button - this will help them a lot, as they will become more visible in the library. Timezone filtering Timezones and filtering by time and day were a thing many of you had asked for throughout many months. While we understood the need for such filtering options, we couldn't pin down exactly HOW the filtering should work. Well, now we did - now you can either look games by selecting your timezone (and the deviation) or by selecting specific weekdays and expected game starting times. /images/general-media/1786710633_01LM4ygV.pngYou should be able to use the filters to find games that work with your schedule. Game applications Want your potential players to fill out an application, to make sure they are a good fit for your game? You can build a game application that users can fill out. If they seem like a good match - get in touch with them and invite them to the group you created via group manager (See how this all ties together nicely?). /images/general-media/1786710844_lwLsPRj0.png And many other smaller updates This update log is long enough as it is - but there are many other smaller updates and improvements to discover and utilize. But hopefully we are steering Groupfinder in the right direction to make it even better for everyone to use and eventually start playing. If you have any feedback or critique - we welcome it all. Either use the Contact us button, or join our Discord server and we can chat there. The team is there ready to listen and help. Be sure to try out our new Group manager and share your feedback and ideas with us. Till next time.

The Voyage

BInspired by Homer's Odyssey, this campaign plunges adventurers into a world where the gods are fickle, monsters lurk beyond every horizon, and every island holds a new trial. Sail across storm-tossed seas, outwit legendary creatures, survive cursed kingdoms, and navigate the ambitions of both mortals and immortals. Your choices will shape your legend. Will you rely on steel, wit, diplomacy, or deception? Every voyage tests not only your strength, but your loyalty, courage, and humanity. This is a campaign of exploration, heroic deeds, political intrigue, and ancient myth. Expect dangerous sea travel, memorable NPCs, moral dilemmas, and epic encounters. The sea remembers every promise. The gods never forget an insult. And home is never as simple as it seems. Defy the Gods? or Earn their protection? -NEON the DM *This campaign will be livestreamed every session starting at 1*

Mystery of The Retirement Village

Paid game Paid game
To Any Adventurers Willing to Lend Their Aid, The peaceful village of Hearthrest has recently found itself troubled by a group of Dragon cultist have been hassling the reitrees of our humble village. Though they claim to be holy protectors, their presence has brought fear, accusations, and no small amount of trouble to our people. We seek capable adventurers willing to come to Hearthrest, investigate their claims, and help us ensure the safety of our village and its residents. Payment will be provided for those who can resolve this matter without unnecessary bloodshed. Come to the Golden Griffin Inn and ask for Mayor Goldheart. May wisdom guide your path, Mayor Goldheart Hearthrest “A quiet place to call home.” Thus ends the letter the party has gotten from a trader who offered them a ride to the village most directions otherwise to the village have been forgotten over time despite it being on a trade route to Neverwinter. This one shot will have the party at level 5 group who have been together for at least a month before taking on this job. I would prefer if anything homebrew is addressed before hand and shown to me as otherwise it will not be allowed. This is for all things from races, classes, adn the like. Now even for a one shot I am fine having the first Wed as a session zero to go over anything: Yes, Maybe, and Nos. I will also not charge anyone on the session zero as I find that in poor taste. The only time I would ask for the payment would be of the game night, plus this way if anyone has something come up there is no waste of the money on your part and no missing out on the fun.  My idea for this game is to start at 7pm est(i am in america/florida) As shown in the price area my game is $10 as I feel something like $15 is better suited for something of a full campaign. However if any of you feel like you vibe with my dnd style and want to make take part in a full campaign, I will not make you then pay $15 as I feel like thats a jerk move. You would only have to pay $10 per session instead as a way for me to show my thanks in your support. Also while the game itself is on Roll20 I have a preference to use discord for my voice calls as its what I am used to doing from games I have been part of.

I'm 29, based out of Sacramento County, looking to make new friends. I have not played in a long time, but I have many of the books and i have played and DMed many campaigns. My experience is almost entirely 5e, and I enjoy throwing some homebrew in here and there. I dabbled with 3.5 in college as well. I am looking for more players for my own campaign, but I also would like to play in someone else's group.

Sacramento D&D 5e campaign (homebrew friendly)

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused

Sacramento County based group, open to online players. This is a long term campaign. We will go through the campaign books, starting with Out of the Abyss, and likely run some homebrewed stories as well as the characters progress. Homebrew characters are okay, as long as they are balanced and lore-friendly.  I am looking for my Co-DM to help me run my campaign.

the wondering riders of the in bewtween

Hello riders the names Soldier. I'm running a daggerheart campaign base on tokusatsue more around Kamen Rider with a hint of Sentai/powerrangers. The main focus of the story takes place in the world of Arasinda a world in the middle of some universes allowing them to connect with one another. Its thanks to Arasinda that these struggling universes were able to help one another to thrive. A casually traveling the multiverse to solve clues that couldn't be answered on Arasinda. Plot Once upon a time a good portion of the multiverse struggling to support themselves. Than from a mysterious chance Arasinda appeared allowing these struggling universes to help sustain each other. A organization was created to keep these universes have good terms and help when need they became known as MEIW ( Miniversal, E(i)nvolvement, Institution, Welfare). Now years later a unknown threat has appeared that threatens Arasinda. Their face never seen and followers across Arasinda and some through the multiverse. Now its up to the kamen riders to uncover this mystery and put a stop to their plan. Charter creating Creating a charter follows the usual charter creating rules of daggerheart with picking a universe your charter comes from so far there are 2 party members 1.Cyrus Helio- a college student at a university in Arasinda he is from a universe base on kamen rider ooos 2. Zeta- a amazon from a universe base on kamen rider Amazons(2016) If you haven't watch any kamen rider but feel interested to try this campaign i will be happy to explain each universe to the best of my knowledge Mechanics Finisher meter- along with the hope meter there will be a finisher meter you can charge with finishers are a stable in toku so having a meter to fill it would be fun while gaining a hope you have the choose of puting it in your hope meter of your finisher meter while you can hold 6 hope it be the same with this meter there will be other mechanics but those usally varey from player to player on what rider they pick Requirements My only requirements for this campaign is that be respectful to the other players and GM(myself) be at least 16 or older enjoy your time

Pathfinder (2009)

Pathfinder (2009)

TTRPG
High-Fantasy
English
Pathfinder is a heroic fantasy roleplaying game system with a high amount of character customization and progression, published by Paizo in 2009. It was developed as a response to Wizards of the Coast transitioning the D&D genre to D&D 4th Edition, which was seen as a strong deviation from the math-heavy norm from 3.5E. Pathfinder was built using the Open Game License (OGL) to revise and expand upon the beloved 3.5 ruleset.  The system it directly evolved from is Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 Edition The second edition of the game was released in 2019 as Pathfinder 2nd Edition Description Pathfinder 1e is well known for its "crunch". It relies heavily on strict rules, mechanical variation and math. The system is perfect for players who prefer heavy character optimization and customization, focus on tactical combat encounters and a strong ruleset for almost any situation. Pathfinder is proud of it's complexity and very much focuses on it. Boasting a massive library of  spells, classes, and feats, allows the players to build very mechanically different and unique characters. It is also renowned for its "Adventure Paths": epic, six-part published campaigns that take characters from level 1 to roughly level 20. System Overview & Key Features The d20 System & Action Economy Like 3.5E, the core engine runs on a d20 roll plus modifiers. On every turn the characters have a set structure to perform their actions. Mechanically separated into Standard, Move and Swift actions. Archetypes & Deep Customization Instead of relying on complicated "Prestige Classes," Pathfinder 1e popularized "Archetypes." These allow players to swap out base class features for heavily themed alternatives right from level 1. This enables the players an extensive levels of customization when combining with the thousands of available feats to further personalise their unique character concept. Base Attack Bonus (BAB) Martial prowess is measured by a Base Attack Bonus. As this number grows, martial classes can eventually achieve "iterative attacks," allowing them to attack with their weapons multiple times per their turns, although penalties apply for repeated attempts. Combat Maneuver Mechanics (CMB/CMD) The system introduced two systems to simplify actions like tripping, grappling or disarming your opponents: Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defense. This created a single, reliable formula to use when performing maneuvers against an enemy. Skill Ranks Instead of a single "Proficiency Bonus" like in modern games, players are given a pool of Skill Points at every level (determined by their class and Intelligence score) to manually distribute across a massive list of skills, allowing for highly granular non-combat abilities. Lethality and "Crunch" As characters level up, the numbers grow exponentially. This means, that by reaching higher levels of encounters, characters and their opponents are dealing huge amounts of damage, alongside with various magical buffs and spells that could instantly kill a character. Planning and tracking situational modifiers and buffs becomes vital for survival. Vampire The Masquerade 5E (2018)

TTRPG
English
Horror
Vampire: The Masquerade (5th Edition) is published by Renegade Games Studios and was released in 2018. It is a TTRPG-scene classic for vampire-themed games. Set in an alternative, but modern, world, called "World of Darkness". The players will step into the shoes of recently turned vampires, now thrust into the dark underworld of the vampire society. It is a storytelling game focusing on personal and political horror. Description The players, now part of "The Masquerade" have to keep their new identity a secret from the human population, while at the same time engaging with various vampire clans and factions. Managing the new reality, both in terms of new societal norms and requirements, and their vampiric hunger, will set the players on a different "adventure" altogether. System Overview & Key Features Storyteller System (d10 Dice Pool) The system utilizes the Storyteller engine, which uses pools of ten-sided dice (d10). To resolve actions, the player adds the character's Attribute and Skill scores together to determine the total number of dice rolled. Any die showing a 6 or higher counts as a success. Rolling multiple 10s yields a critical success. Disciplines Player characters have access to supernatural abilities known as Disciplines. These include categorized powers such as enhanced physical speed, cognitive manipulation, and physical mutation. Activating these abilities frequently requires a "Rouse Check," a dice roll that carries a probability of increasing the character's Hunger level. Touchstones and Humanity Characters possess a Humanity rating that measures their ethical degradation. To maintain this rating, characters link themselves to "Touchstones," which are specific human non-player characters representing the vampire's surviving mortal values. If a Touchstone is damaged or killed, the player character risks a permanent reduction to their Humanity score. Blood Potency A statistic called Blood Potency dictates the strength of a vampire's abilities. Higher Blood Potency provides numerical advantages to Discipline rolls and healing rates. However, it also imposes dietary restrictions; characters with high Blood Potency cannot reduce their Hunger by consuming animal blood or preserved human blood, requiring them to feed directly from live humans.
