Update log - July 2026 “Time to schedule”

Hope you are all having a nice summer. While we haven't been bombarding the site with massive updates these past few months, we have been working on things in the background. Just to keep you all somewhat updated and ensured, that we are still actively working on the platform - here is a brief update and check-in. Minor improvements Every now and then we have pushed new and small updates to the platform. Just today, we finally got around to implementing the time & day scheduling to the game posts. So if you have a game post running, be sure to edit it and add the days you are planning on running the game, and at what time the session would be starting. Players looking for games will be also able to filter the groups based on those parameters. Do keep in mind that since the feature is new, almost all of the games listed at the moment are still without a preferred day and time - so they will not be shown to you when you use the filter. But as time goes on and games update their listing, more and more will have those elements. Additionally a few updates were added to the game post creation process - nothing gamebreaking or -changing. Just some convenience factors. .gg We have officially shifted to a new primary web address (although you are free to keep using whichever domain ending you have before - nothing should be negatively affected. But Groupfinder can now be also accessed via groupfinder.gg Even though the platform is global - having the .eu ending seemed to cause more confusion than we had anticipated. But this is more of a cosmetic change - nothing in our core values or goals has changed as a part of this shift. Library evergrowing The library is rapidly growing - every week new entries are added. Some thanks to the help of a few volunteers, to whom we are extremely grateful. It is becoming a proper tabletop gaming resource now. But it will never be complete - we are seeing new tabletop projects and creators pop up all the time - and we would love to be a gateway between them and you. Group Manager This is the biggest element we have been working on since the start of the year (and even before). While not ready to go live - we are anticipating that the day is drawing ever closer by every week and testing cycle. Group manager will be a parallel mode to Groupfinder - a system to manage your.. well.. group. Keep track of timefinder polls to schedule the next session. Share files with your players - or make them private, so that only you can see them - or only some of the players. This will make it easier to keep track of various notes, lore and character backstories. Or just share gifs.. Also a viable approach. But until we have anything more substantial to report - I will be signing off for now. But will keep a watchful and helpful eye on the platform. And if you have a friend or a group that could benefit from using Groupfinder - be sure to tell them about the site - it will be a win-win situation. The more people know about Groupfinder, the faster your games get filled - and the faster you find a group to join. Till next time.

Hi, I’m Zephir1991. I’ve been enjoying tabletop roleplaying games for around 16 years, with Dungeons & Dragons being my main passion. I both play and host games online, mainly through Discord, with a small group of players that meet weekly. Right now I’m running several campaigns including: • Chains of Asmodeus (On pause) • Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep (Saturdays) • Out of the Abyss (Mondays) • Icewind Dale (Wednesdays) My usall play time is 8pm (CET norwegian time) and usally play for up to 3 hours. I’m also currently a player in a homebrew story off call of chuthulu.(Fridays) And a homebrewed game called danger at gravehill as a player (Sundays) I’m always happy to chat with fellow players, meet new people, or welcome listeners who simply want to sit in and experience a session. My Discord is open to both new and experienced players. I’m also interested in meeting people locally for in-person games, either to host or join a table, so if you're nearby and enjoy tabletop games, feel free to reach out. If you're interested, send me a message and I’ll share my Discord link.

Roleplay focused Roleplay focused
Newbie friendly Newbie friendly
The galaxy is changing… and not for the better. The Yuuzhan Vong have arrived from beyond the known galaxy, bringing living ships, terrifying biotechnology, and a hatred of machines that has already left entire worlds in ruin. The New Republic is struggling to respond, the Jedi are stretched thin, and the hyperspace lanes are filled with refugees, rumors, and fear. In the middle of this chaos, you are part of a small crew trying to survive and make a difference. Maybe you’re Jedi trying to understand this strange new enemy. Maybe you’re soldiers fighting a desperate delaying action. Smugglers, scouts, diplomats, and survivors all have a place in a galaxy where the rules of war are rapidly changing. This campaign will focus heavily on roleplay, character choices, and the personal stories that unfold during a massive galactic war. Expect tense negotiations, dangerous missions behind enemy lines, moral dilemmas, and moments where your characters must decide what they’re willing to sacrifice to protect the galaxy. The Yuuzhan Vong are coming. Who will your character be when the galaxy needs heroes… or survivors? Looking for GM and Players.  Saturdays 10:00 AM GMT Does this day and time work for you, and can you reliably make the sessions? How old are you and how much RPG experience do you have? Do both you and your character work well in a team? Are you familiar with Saga Edition and do you have a copy of it? What is your character concept?

Star Frontiers RPG – Mystery at the Edge of the Frontier Several remote settlements and listening posts on the edge of the Frontier have suddenly gone silent. No distress calls. No wreckage. Just… silence. The UPF is quietly assembling a small investigation team to find out what happened. Is it the return of the Sathar? Pirates operating beyond the patrol routes? A corporate black project gone wrong? Or something far stranger lurking in unexplored space? Your crew will travel to isolated colonies, abandoned outposts, and deep-space installations to uncover the truth. Expect investigation, exploration, tense encounters, and the possibility that whatever caused the disappearances may still be out there. System: Star Frontiers Tone: Sci-fi mystery, exploration, action, and lots of role play Characters: Frontier operatives hired to investigate the missing colonies The Frontier is vast. Sometimes things disappear out there. The real question is: do you want to find out why? Looking for GM and Players.  Saturdays 11:00 AM GMT

Sau Sakhi Inspired Campaign

Game language is English but also Hindi/Punjabi/Urdu. Sau Sakhi is a collection of stories and literature from various sources where the reoccuring theme is Sikhism. Sau Sakhi literally means (Hundred Stories). It can be considered the 1001 Nights of India. Although I will be using various sources, not just the Sau Sakhi. This campaign will be an excellent platform for those interested in getting wiser and learning about the tenets and events in the West-Indian region. Games will be run weekly until my professional games get more players, at which point I will pause this campaign. Schedule is flexible but we will run sessions on Fridays (1800-2200) CEST/UTC+2, Foundry VTT combat maps, Discord voice. Fill in the Google form beneath to be paired into the group. I may contact players for interviews on Discord. Timezone highly prioritized. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSevGhP4AftRO8AT5YStclI79Lcq-umY1lMarV86CpLwB3vSmQ/viewform?usp=dialog

Hello I'd be interested in joining a group if possible.  I am available Mon-sun starting at 7pm est except wed. I rarely miss sessions and if I think there's even a possibility, I would give a heads up. I don't mind if it's already ongoing as long as it's not to far in. I enjoy character bonding as a group and as individuals and my favorite thing about DND is creating backstories.  I have a few lined up that I typically discuss with the DM to see which would be the best fit. One backstory for a example is a human rogue who's a member of a f very powerful crime family. Though he's in hiding since he's constantly getting in there way of business to ruin it. I also try to get everyone involved if I notice someone having trouble getting involved. I do prefer to focus more on the game than talking outside of game.

Tools & Platforms

Inkarnate

English
Free
Subscription
Inkarnate is a powerful, web based cartography suite that allows users to create everything from sprawling world maps to highly detailed tactical battlemaps. Unlike software that requires a local installation, Inkarnate runs entirely in the browser, making it accessible from any computer with an internet connection. In December 2025, the platform launched its massive 2.0 Update, introducing a completely refined interface, advanced custom layering, and a marketplace for community assets, solidifying its position as the most versatile map making tool in the industry. Description Inkarnate is the "all in one" solution for fantasy cartography. It offers distinct styles—including Parchment, Watercolor, and High Fantasy—that allow GMs to match their maps to the tone of their campaign. While it was once seen primarily as a world and regional map tool, the 2.0 update dramatically improved its battlemap capabilities, bringing it into direct competition with specialized tools like Dungeondraft. It is a subscription based service, but the sheer volume of its asset library (over 30,000 stamps) makes it a favorite for GMs who want an endless variety of visual options. System Overview & Key Features Advanced Custom Layers (v2.0) The 2.0 update introduced a professional grade layering system. Users can now group assets, lock specific layers to prevent accidental movement, and apply transparency or blend modes to entire groups. This allows for complex "multi level" maps where you can toggle a roof or upper floor on and off during play. Brush Tool 2.0 and Layer Masks The painting system has been completely rebuilt to feel more like a traditional art program. Every layer can now have its own mask, allowing you to "paint" terrain or transparency with pixel accuracy. This is essential for creating organic transitions between biomes or hiding secret rooms behind "hidden" layers. Massive 30K+ Asset Library The paid tiers grant access to an enormous catalog of high definition stamps. From elven architecture and dwarven machinery to sci fi terminals and eldritch horrors, the library is updated weekly, ensuring that GMs always have new visuals to inspire their world building. 8K and 16K Exporting Inkarnate is famous for its high resolution output. The Creator tier allows for 8K exports, while the 2026 Studio tier supports beta 16K exporting. This level of detail is perfect for GMs who print their maps or use high resolution 4K monitors for their virtual tabletop sessions. The Inkarnate Marketplace New for 2026, the Marketplace allows professional cartographers and artists to sell custom asset packs and map templates directly within the platform. This has expanded the "Inkarnate Look" far beyond its original art style, offering community driven variety for niche genres like Cyberpunk or Steampunk. Interactive "Explore" Feed The platform features a social gallery where users can share their maps. Many of these are "Cloneable," meaning you can open another user's map in the editor, see how they built it, and modify it for your own campaign, making it an excellent learning tool for new cartographers. Fantasy Grounds Unity

Virtual tabletop (VTT)
English
Free
Fantasy Grounds Unity is a high-power virtual tabletop originally released in 2004 and completely rebuilt on the Unity engine in 2020. Developed by SmiteWorks, it is the industry pioneer of "automated play," where the software handles complex rules, modifiers, and combat math natively. In a massive industry shift in late 2025, the platform moved to a completely free-to-play model, removing the traditional $50 license fee to compete directly with modern browser-based rivals. Description Fantasy Grounds is often described as a "Digital Dungeon Master’s Assistant." It is a standalone application (not a browser site) that provides the most stable and deep automation available. While it has a more traditional, window-based interface that can feel daunting to new users, it rewards the "Power GM" with unparalleled control over combat and data. Since becoming free in late 2025, it has positioned itself as the premier "zero-cost" entry point for groups who want professional-grade automation without a subscription. System Overview & Key Features Native Ruleset Automation Unlike other VTTs that rely on community plug-ins, Fantasy Grounds features "Hard-Coded" automation for its primary systems. When a player drags an attack onto a target, the software automatically checks for cover, calculates the hit against Armor Class, applies damage, and tracks temporary hit points or resistances without any manual input. V5.1 Visual Intelligence The 2026 update introduced "Aggregated Notifications." Instead of scrolling through a wall of text in a chat box, combat results like damage, saving throws, and status effects now appear as elegant visual icons and pop-ups directly over the tokens on the map. 2.5D Tactical Mapping While it supports traditional 2D top-down maps, FGU includes a unique 2.5D camera mode. This provides a sense of depth and perspective to battlemaps, making the digital table feel more like a physical diorama with "placeable" 3D-like objects like trees and furniture. Total Offline Capability Because it is a localized application, you can prepare your entire campaign, build NPCs, and write story entries without an internet connection. Your data is stored on your hard drive, giving you total ownership of your campaign files. The Fantasy Grounds Forge FGU features an integrated marketplace and community portal called "The Forge." This allows GMs to browse and auto-install thousands of community-made extensions and themes that update automatically whenever the main software is launched. Cross-Platform Unity Engine Built on the Unity 6 engine (as of 2026), the software offers smooth performance on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It uses hardware acceleration to handle complex dynamic lighting, weather effects, and large-scale vision blocking for massive dungeon crawls. When the Moon Hangs Low

English
Horror
Indie
When the Moon Hangs Low is a gothic action roleplaying game in which the players take on the roles of Hunters; people possessed of strange abilities who find themselves fated to oppose the forces of darkness. Set in Harrowmire, a decaying city teetering on the edge of chaos, it is a game of intrigue, investigation, and combat. Games in When the Moon Hangs Low can cover a range of themes; from hunting vile beasts through collapsing sewers, to investigating gruesome murders, to intrigue and politics in the heart of the city. When the Moon Hangs Low has been inspired by a number of other works. Most heavily it draws inspiration from the computer games Bloodborne by From Software and Darkest Dungeon by Red Hook Studios. It also takes notes from the Dishonoured game series by Arkane Studios, the Bas-Lag Cycle by China Miéville, and the Berserk manga series by Kentaro Miura.
