Update log - July 2026 “Time to schedule”

Hope you are all having a nice summer. While we haven't been bombarding the site with massive updates these past few months, we have been working on things in the background. Just to keep you all somewhat updated and ensured, that we are still actively working on the platform - here is a brief update and check-in. Minor improvements Every now and then we have pushed new and small updates to the platform. Just today, we finally got around to implementing the time & day scheduling to the game posts. So if you have a game post running, be sure to edit it and add the days you are planning on running the game, and at what time the session would be starting. Players looking for games will be also able to filter the groups based on those parameters. Do keep in mind that since the feature is new, almost all of the games listed at the moment are still without a preferred day and time - so they will not be shown to you when you use the filter. But as time goes on and games update their listing, more and more will have those elements. Additionally a few updates were added to the game post creation process - nothing gamebreaking or -changing. Just some convenience factors. .gg We have officially shifted to a new primary web address (although you are free to keep using whichever domain ending you have before - nothing should be negatively affected. But Groupfinder can now be also accessed via groupfinder.gg Even though the platform is global - having the .eu ending seemed to cause more confusion than we had anticipated. But this is more of a cosmetic change - nothing in our core values or goals has changed as a part of this shift. Library evergrowing The library is rapidly growing - every week new entries are added. Some thanks to the help of a few volunteers, to whom we are extremely grateful. It is becoming a proper tabletop gaming resource now. But it will never be complete - we are seeing new tabletop projects and creators pop up all the time - and we would love to be a gateway between them and you. Group Manager This is the biggest element we have been working on since the start of the year (and even before). While not ready to go live - we are anticipating that the day is drawing ever closer by every week and testing cycle. Group manager will be a parallel mode to Groupfinder - a system to manage your.. well.. group. Keep track of timefinder polls to schedule the next session. Share files with your players - or make them private, so that only you can see them - or only some of the players. This will make it easier to keep track of various notes, lore and character backstories. Or just share gifs.. Also a viable approach. But until we have anything more substantial to report - I will be signing off for now. But will keep a watchful and helpful eye on the platform. And if you have a friend or a group that could benefit from using Groupfinder - be sure to tell them about the site - it will be a win-win situation. The more people know about Groupfinder, the faster your games get filled - and the faster you find a group to join. Till next time.

I'm a first-time GM so please bear with me, I am familiar with 3.5 as a player though and would prefer to run the game in this as opposed to 5e. If the group agrees in session 0, I am willing to change to 5e. (I am just as familiar with 5e if not a little less than 3.5) Looking to run a homebrewed setting on an island surrounded by a magical storm conjured by a dragon "king." Will meet on discord for VC/Text chatting during the game, held on roll20 as the VTT. My discord user is: beanureeves (Display name: Beanu Reeves) can elaborate more on the discord and in session 0 (just be sure to message me for the link)

Where wonderous creatures roam free. Amid a wilderness of jagged, snow capped mountains and alpine forests, lawlessness and monsters, the cost holds the greatest bastions civilization, including the coastal city of Neverwinter where our party is first assembled You have known Gundren Rockseeker for a long time and and when you receive a letter asking for your help you drop everything to help your old friend. It's not long before goblin ambushes, ruthless bandits and a whisper of a long forgotten mine pull you into a mystery far larger than you expected. This isn't a story that will wait for you. While you decide what to do next, there are other pieces on the board moving to progress their own agenda and your actions can help shape that. The people you help will remember, the people you hurt will seek justice. Ignore a problem today, and you may discover it's consequences later on. This is a game designed to welcome new players to DnD and experienced players will enjoy a world that responds to their choices rather than following a fixed script. We begin by playing through the Lost Mine of Phandelver Module before venturing into The Shattered Obelisk Module.

🎓 Who Are You? You are a student at the **Nocturne Conservatory**, a hidden college for young witches beneath the town of Duskfall. Most students are between **18 and 22 years old**, balancing two very different lives. By day, you attend classes, work part-time jobs, hang out with friends, and try to survive college. By night, you study advanced magic, dangerous rituals, and centuries-old traditions. Whether you were born into the magical community or discovered it later, you're still trying to figure out who you want to become. --- # 🏫 Your Two Worlds ## ☀️ Life Above Ground Outside the Conservatory, Duskfall functions like any other small coastal college town. You might spend your days: - Attending university lectures - Working a part-time job - Meeting friends at cafés - Going to concerts - Pulling all-nighters before exams - Exploring the town - Joining clubs or organizations Most people believe Duskfall is completely ordinary. They're wrong. --- ## 🌙 The Nocturne Conservatory Hidden beneath abandoned salt mines lies one of the oldest magical colleges in existence. Here you'll study subjects like: - Ritual Magic - Arcane Theory - Demonology - Magical History - Wards & Protection - Potion Brewing - Cursecraft - Spirit Studies -Evocation -Divination Your professors expect excellence. Failure can have consequences beyond a failing grade. --- # 🎭 What Is This Campaign About? This is a character-driven supernatural mystery focused on: 🔮 Magic 🕵️ Investigations 🎓 College Life 🤝 Friendships & Rivalries 📖 Hidden History 🩸 Difficult Choices While combat certainly happens, your greatest tools are curiosity, teamwork, and creative problem solving. --- # 🧙 Creating Your Character Think about the person behind the magic. ### What are you studying? Examples include: - Magical Law - Ritual Studies - Alchemy - Spirit Research - Enchantments - Magical Medicine - Ancient Languages --- What's your life like outside class? Do you... - Work at a bookstore? - Play in a local band? - Run the campus radio station? - Captain an intramural team? - Volunteer in town? - Spend every night buried in the library? --- How do you feel about magic? Maybe it's... - Your calling. - Your family tradition. - Just another subject to pass. - A burden. - An obsession. - Something you're still learning to trust. --- Why did you come to the Conservatory? Everyone has their own reason. Maybe you wanted: - Knowledge. - Freedom. - Answers. - Prestige. - Adventure. - A fresh start. --- 💬 Roleplaying Tips Your character is an adult, but adulthood doesn't mean having everything figured out. Lean into uncertainty. Make mistakes. Build friendships. Question authority. Support your classmates. Sometimes the biggest victories happen outside of combat. --- 📖 What Your Character Knows Every student knows: ✅ Magic exists. ✅ The Nocturne Conservatory is one of the oldest magical colleges in the world. ✅ Duskfall has a hidden magical community. ✅ Magical traditions are deeply important. ✅ Strange things occasionally happen around town. Your character does **not** automatically know: ❌ Every magical secret. ❌ Every hidden faction. ❌ The truth behind Duskfall's history. ❌ Why certain traditions exist. Those answers will be discovered throughout the campaign. --- 🌒 Welcome to Duskfall Study hard. Trust carefully. Question everything. Because in Duskfall... **Some secrets have been waiting centuries for someone to uncover them.** Like to application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf784PDqgFyQQcG_tInei2V3mVF9q-hKDGLUMwY23YeFNjbSA/viewform?usp=header

Howdy hi!! Shut-in world builder wizard here, just looking for cool people to bring to me and friends' online table for a bespoke variation of 3.5e D&D that focuses less on min-maxing/power-scaling and more on curiosity of the player, experimentation and a whole new toy box of fresh mechanics to dive into! Some of those mechanics share DNA with 5-5.5e concepts and might be familiar to players coming in from the most recent editions, and others have been forged from the mad scientist lab sessions of me and mine over several campaigns! We've got weird new races--psychic plant people, immortal deer fey, juggernaught dwarf-orc hybrids, sentient amnesiac undead, need I go on?! We've got intriguing reworks on old classics-- broad new specialization AND generalization options for casters, exciting new martial feats for bruisers of all types, and much needed re-balances for the discrepancies between Druid and Ranger! We've got an in-house, homemade character sheet template made in Microsoft Excel that tracks your bonuses, debuffs, gear weight, weapon rolls and all your stats in real time! We've got an entirely homebrewed, simple to understand, elemental damage counter system with a table of effects that completely turns the nature of how players and enemies utilize different damage types on its head! All this, and a chill, low-stress, inclusive table of nerds too! Sound good? Then give the profile a poke, and come see if your new favorite homebrewed TTRPG system will be ours! =)

Fight or sneak your way through the ancient and mysteriously abandoned Elvish city of Zel-Bazar! Starting at Level 6 and going to Level 14, this campaign in a light homebrew setting lets you explore a dangerous city in the desert to uncover forgotten arcane secrets, collect priceless religious relics, and kill powerful monsters to collect their precious innards, all so you can get fame and fortune. Inspired by Dungeons of Drakkenheim, this is a survival game where death is around every corner and your choices matter. You can work for yourselves and sow chaos, ally with a faction and help them achieve their goals, or even try your hand at overthrowing a faction for your own gains. The desert is yours to explore and exploit! Read below for a short introduction, and below that for the table details 👍🏻 --- The skies over the desert continent of Sahidh used to be glitter with starlight at all hours. In the ancient past a breed of Cosmic Beetles, those alien beings which eat stardust and create magic, would drift into an oasis in the middle of the desert to mate and multiply. Elves from the Glimmerwood eventually found the desert and the oasis and founded a city. After a few generations, those Elves adapted and became "sun-kissed". The city's name in Ancient Elvish is "Ulenra odh Taminn", or "Jewel of the Desert". After the Sun-Kissed Elves branched their culture, it was renamed to Zel-Barar, or "Jewel City." During the War of Crumbling Skies, the ulitmate battle between Gods and mortal mages when the Great Sky Cities were falling, the ancient desert capital acted as a crucial ally for mortal mages. But 60 years before the final defeat for the mages, the city went dark. The population of over 1 million Sun-Kissed Elves vanished without a clue as to why. When the mortal survivors of the war went to investigate what happened, they found the city infested with the Cosmic Beetles, now twisted and mutated by some kind of uncurable curse. The Cursed Beetles quickly became a scourge that would take the lives of many people, and still do to this day. It's been 40 years since the city was rediscovered, and a number of groups and organizations seek the hidden power and forgotten secrets still trapped within. Thieves, soldiers, holy people, fame-seekers, and anyone else daring enough to enter the walls of the city have congregated in the still-standing cities on the continents coasts or in one of the new settlements that the city's mystery has spawned. There has been a steady balance of power between the factions for decades now, but the appearance of a new Cult and rumors of a "major discovery" have people on edge. --- Games will be played on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays at 10 AM CST (Texas, USA) and will go for 4 hours. It's a paid table with standard rates being no higher than $20 and I am open to making deals depending on your needs. I never want to price someone out of play. If you're interested, you can reach out to me on here or on Discord: cheeks4901.

Dungeons & Dragons 5.5e (2024)

TTRPG
Beginner-friendly
High-Fantasy
D&D 5.5E (officially the 2024 core rules revision) is the modernized, updated evolution of the immensely popular Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition (2014). The new and updated version of the system was released to coincide with the game’s 50th anniversary. Rather than replacing 5th Edition with a completely new "6th Edition," 5.5E refines and expands upon the existing 5E framework and most of the already existing mechanics. It is maintaining backwards compatibility with the  adventure and source books from 5th Edition. Description D&D 5.5E is the continuation of the iconic d20-based heroic fantasy roleplaying game. Players take on the roles of daring adventurers and the Dungeon Master (DM) describes the world, the events, controls the monsters and non-player characters, and referees the rules. The 5.5E revision was driven heavily by years of player feedback and data on how tables actually run the game. As a result, the new core rulebooks, the Player’s Handbook (September 2024), Dungeon Master’s Guide (November 2024), and Monster Manual (February 2025) are better organized, have clarified language and wording, and try to bring a stronger balance between spellcasting and martial classes. It plays exactly like the 5th Edition, but with tighter mechanics, fewer confusing edge-cases, and more tactical options for the players to have a more unique approach and feel to their characters. System Overview & Key Features Weapon Masteries This is a massive change to how martial classes are played in combat. Weapons now have specific "Mastery" properties, such as Cleave, Graze, or Push. This allows the characters to apply tactical, battlefield-controlling effects on their strikes rather than only rolling for standard damage on their turns. Subclass Standardization All character classes now choose their defining subclass at Level 3. This standardizes character progression and prevents the narrative weirdness of a Level 1 character instantly unlocking ultimate magical bloodlines before they've even adventured. Streamlined Conditions & Mechanics Historically clunky rules have been completely overhauled. For example: Surprise Instead of enemies randomly losing their first turn, surprised combatants simply roll their Initiative with Disadvantage. Exhaustion Replaced with a much simpler, cumulative 1-to-10 scale where each level of exhaustion simply subtracts from your d20 rolls and reduces your movement speed. Hiding Normalized so that successfully hiding essentially grants the "Invisible" condition, removing ambiguity for the DM. The Bastion System Introduced in the new Dungeon Master's Guide, this is an official customizable base-building system. It allows players to construct and manage their own strongholds. From arcane observatories to gambling dens. Apex Monsters & Upgraded Threats The 2025 Monster Manual expanded the roster to over 500 creatures, redesigning legacy stat blocks to be more dynamic in combat. It also introduced "Apex Monsters". These are a higher Challenge Rating versions of classic monsters (like an Apex Hag) designed to serve as more challenging bosses or enemies adding more danger and flavor to the basic version of the creature. Backwards Compatibility The core promise of 5.5E has been that you can still run older 5E adventure modules or campaign settings, even while adapting and using the newer ruleset and systems. If a table wants to bring a 2014 character class into a 5.5E game, the rules are there to accommodate, though it is highly encouraged to transition older characters to the updated 2024 mechanics, as the new systems bring  horizontal expansions to various classes and abilities. Gamma World

Gamma World

Wizards of the Coast
Sci-fi
Rules-medium
Gamma World is a post-apocalyptic science fantasy roleplaying game created by James M. Ward and Gary Jaquet, first published by TSR in 1978. Over more than four decades the game has been rebuilt from the ground up seven times by nearly as many publishers, and the most recent overhaul came in 2010, when Wizards of the Coast released a stripped-down, card-driven edition built on a pared-back version of the Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition engine.  Where D&D sends heroes out to save a kingdom, Gamma World drops mutant scavengers into the wreckage of a shattered Earth to fight over technology nobody left alive still understands. Description Gamma World is gonzo by design. A character isn't built so much as collided into existence: two randomly rolled Origins get mashed together into one being, however little sense the combination makes ("I'm a Radioactive Yeti," to use the game's own example). From there, characters spend the session drawing from decks of mutation and salvage cards that shift constantly - the powers a character has at the start of a fight are rarely the ones they'll have by the end of it.  Combat is lethal and character turnover is high, so the game leans into its own chaos rather than fighting it: sessions play fast, tonally silly, and are built to be picked up and put down in a single evening rather than carried across a long campaign. System Overview & Key Features Double Origin Character Creation Instead of choosing a race and class, each player rolls twice on a table of twenty Origins - Radioactive, Yeti, Android, Doppelganger, and so on - and combines the results into a single character. The order rolled matters, giving roughly 400 possible base combinations, and reconciling two unrelated origins into one coherent (or hilariously incoherent) mutant is most of the fun of chargen. Alpha Mutations Mutant powers are drawn from a shuffled Alpha Mutation deck rather than chosen once and kept. Characters start each encounter holding a hand of mutation cards and draw a replacement whenever one is used up or a natural 1 is rolled, so the toolkit a character has access to keeps changing fight to fight. Omega Tech Salvaged pre-apocalypse artifacts work the same way, drawn from a separate Omega Tech deck. Each card grants a single reusable power, but has roughly even odds of malfunctioning and burning out after use, turning every scavenged gadget into a small gamble. The Pared-Down d20 Engine Underneath the cards sits a simplified version of 4th Edition D&D: roll a d20, add modifiers, beat a target number. Positioning and tactical combat still matter, but the character-building crunch that defined 4E is stripped out entirely, leaving a much faster game to run and pick up. Player-Built Decks Rather than everyone drawing from one communal deck, each player can assemble a personal Alpha and Omega deck (minimum seven cards, up to two copies of any card) from the base set and expansion boosters, letting a player skew the randomness of their draws toward a character concept they actually want to play.
