Update log - August 2026 “Group manager”

Oh boy. This is going to be a lot of things to talk about. We have been busy and productive. But, as is tradition - here is an update on the updates we have added - We have Group manager, post listings updates, library redesign, timezone filtering, game applications and some more. So here we go. Group manager We'll start with the biggest new feature on Groupfinder. The Group manager. This has been something we have been working on since the start of the year and now finally got around to releasing it.  /images/general-media/1786708533_fHKbu2AS.png What it is, is the logical next step from Groupfinder's core function. Once you find a group, you can move everything to the manager and keep track of your players, your documents, notes, maps, images, links, polls, timefinder polls and session notes. As an integrated part of the platform it will help you keep everything organized and in one place. You can read more about the manager on this info page we created.  But to break it down simply, here is a list of all the base functionalities: /images/manager-info/group-overview.png Manager dashboard As a group owner/GM, you can create a manager group within moments - Enter the game's name, add some illustrative images and the group is created. On the dashboard you can start adding images, organizing documents and inviting your players. Asset management All documents most likely should not be visible to all members. You can set different view and edit permissions for each category. For example, create a separate category for "The Goblin Boys" and let only your goblin players see the contents. You can share forbidden goblin knowledge with only them. Or create a category, that everyone can see for your worldbuilding lore bits. The map of the world, the overall history of the campaign or an illustration of the tavernkeeper that already hates your PCs. We cannot describe all the possibilities and approaches, as we imagine you will all find a different way to interact and organize your games. And more power to you - this is your group manager, we only provide the framework. Player folders To keep specific assets private, you can find a folder on the right side of every member. This is a folder that only the group owner and that specific user can see - no external prying eyes allowed. Timefinder Scheduling is the biggest boss of tabletop gaming? Pretty much. While we cannot create a tool that completely solves it - we have timefinder - a scheduling poll system to settle on the next date that works for everyone. Session notes Players forgetting what happened last time, only to be reminded moments before the session starts that they are about to fight the BBEG? Write a session note after the last game and make it easier for your players to remember what happened last time and what the current direction is. Session notes can also be useful when trying to go back in time to know where the downward spiral of your campaign began. In addition players can leave session feedback. Things they liked and things they didn't. This will help any GM improve by focusing more on aspects the players enjoyed and cut back or rethink parts that didn't really jive with them. Polls, questionnaires and safety tools Group manager has interactive assets for you to use to settle on a specific question, understand the players' preferences and make sure everyone is enjoying the game, by having everyone fill a safety tool questionnaire. You never know if you don't ask. And there is more to discover. You will get the best idea of what and how the manager works by just tinkering and trying it out on your own. You can switch over to (and from) the manager by interacting with the finder/manager button in the menu. /images/general-media/1786709626_5gGr5AH5.png Post listings update We updated both the player and games listings pages. With added subcategories to quickly filter and find specific types of posts, you should find it easier to only find what you are looking for. /images/general-media/1786709750_LLT1IETF.png With this update, Groupfinder is now welcoming all West Marches games, when before we were rather hesitant about groups with no fixed amount of seats. Library redesign The library has slowly grown into one of our core elements. And the library, while practical, was due some attention. And boy - it definitely got some. With this update, the entries have a more logical layout. The tabletop community has tons of interesting games, projects and creators. We are all about empowering and helping you spread the word. /images/general-media/1786710068_3ifxmq5c.png If we created an entry for you in the past - be sure to visit your page and claim it. Once we approve your claim, you will have access to editing and improving it. And if one of your favourite creators, projects or game systems is in the library, be sure to pop over and click that "Recommend" button - this will help them a lot, as they will become more visible in the library. Timezone filtering Timezones and filtering by time and day were a thing many of you had asked for throughout many months. While we understood the need for such filtering options, we couldn't pin down exactly HOW the filtering should work. Well, now we did - now you can either look games by selecting your timezone (and the deviation) or by selecting specific weekdays and expected game starting times. /images/general-media/1786710633_01LM4ygV.pngYou should be able to use the filters to find games that work with your schedule. Game applications Want your potential players to fill out an application, to make sure they are a good fit for your game? You can build a game application that users can fill out. If they seem like a good match - get in touch with them and invite them to the group you created via group manager (See how this all ties together nicely?). /images/general-media/1786710844_lwLsPRj0.png And many other smaller updates This update log is long enough as it is - but there are many other smaller updates and improvements to discover and utilize. But hopefully we are steering Groupfinder in the right direction to make it even better for everyone to use and eventually start playing. If you have any feedback or critique - we welcome it all. Either use the Contact us button, or join our Discord server and we can chat there. The team is there ready to listen and help. Be sure to try out our new Group manager and share your feedback and ideas with us. Till next time.

Hello I'd be interested in joining a group if possible.  I am available Mon-sun starting at 7pm est except wed. I rarely miss sessions and if I think there's even a possibility, I would give a heads up. I don't mind if it's already ongoing as long as it's not to far in. I enjoy character bonding as a group and as individuals and my favorite thing about DND is creating backstories.  I have a few lined up that I typically discuss with the DM to see which would be the best fit. One backstory for a example is a human rogue who's a member of a f very powerful crime family. Though he's in hiding since he's constantly getting in there way of business to ruin it. I also try to get everyone involved if I notice someone having trouble getting involved. I do prefer to focus more on the game than talking outside of game.

Hello! My name is Rach (they/them), 36, and I've been playing DnD 5e for about 6 years, but I do enjoy dabbling in other TTRPGs such as Masks, Alien, LOTR. I'm looking for a game either online (I'm GMT/ BST/ UTC depending on daylight savings), or in person in Manchester, UK. I like a mix of RP and combat, but lean closer to more RP driven games. I normally play the group healer, but do love a barbarian. I will happily fill a gap in an existing party with whatever is required, I'm not precious about what character I play  I'm available Monday to Thursday evenings until 9:30/10pm (please don't ask me to stay up later, I am old and tired!), or Saturday and Sunday until 5:30pm Not interested in a pay to play game, but I am happy to cover the cost of playing in a game shop if required  Feel free to hit me up if you want to ask any questions at all

I have been playing ttrpgs since i was like 10 years old and have been wanting to make the transition to dnd (I'm also open to any other ttrpg system) for ages but haven't found people to play with yet i usually don't always have time on weekends. My tuesdays and fridays are also often not free, but every other weekend or so I am free its kinda an irregular situation due to my hobby. I'd love to have some epic game but am also down for roleplay heavy stuff. Honestly I just want to play with someone.

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (2018)

TTRPG
English
Complex
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay or Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play (abbreviated to WFRP or WHFRP) is a role-playing game set in the Warhammer Fantasy setting. The fourth edition rooted in the first and second editions was released under licence by Cubicle 7 in 2018. The system it directly evolved from is Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd Edition Description The primary setting of WFRP is the Empire, a faction located in a region of the "Old World", that is based loosely on the Holy Roman Empire, with a number of baronies, counties and dukedoms fashioned after the fiefs of elector counts and dukes. One of the most identifiable features of the Warhammer setting is Chaos. While the forces of Chaos in Warhammer Fantasy Battle are depicted primarily in the form of bloodthirsty marauders, towering dark knights and savage beastmen, Chaos in WFRP is an insidious force gnawing at the fabric of society. System Overview & Key Features The Career System Instead of fixed classes, characters enter specific Careers like Boatman, Grave Robber, or Wizard Apprentice. You spend experience points to advance within your career or transition to a related one. This represents your character's actual life and job in the world rather than just their combat role. Brutal Critical Injuries Hit points are low and do not increase much as you level. When a character is hit while they have no remaining Advantage or are critically struck, the player must roll on gruesome tables. These results range from minor scars to losing an eye, a limb, or your life. Corruption and Sin Magic is inherently dangerous and tied to the Winds of Chaos. Using magic or encountering dark artifacts can grant Corruption points. If your Corruption exceeds your willpower, you may develop physical mutations or mental instability, eventually turning into a servant of the Dark Gods. Fate and Resilience Characters have limited pools of Fate and Resilience points. Fate can be spent to avoid certain death, while Resilience allows you to ignore the effects of a mutation or a critical hit. These are rare and precious resources that represent the character's sheer stubbornness to stay alive in a doomed world. Foundry Virtual Tabletop (Foundry VTT)

Virtual tabletop (VTT)
English
Paid
Foundry VTT is a self-hosted, modern virtual tabletop application that revolutionized the digital RPG space upon its release in 2020. Developed by Andrew Clayton, it recently celebrated its five-year anniversary with the launch of Version 13. Unlike its subscription-based competitors, Foundry provides a powerful, high-performance environment that runs in a web browser while giving the Game Master total control over their data and hosting. It is widely considered the "Gold Standard" for power users and tactical GMs. Description Foundry VTT is built on modern web technologies (Node.js and WebGL), allowing for hardware-accelerated visuals that outclass almost any other browser-based platform. It is a "buy-once, own-forever" product where the GM hosts the server locally or via a cloud service, and players connect for free through their browser. Its true strength lies in its modularity; with thousands of community-made modules, a GM can transform the software from a simple dice roller into a fully automated, cinematic video-game-like experience. System Overview & Key Features One-Time Purchase Model There are no monthly fees or feature gating. Once you buy a license, you own the software and all future core updates. You can host an unlimited number of players, and they never have to pay a cent to join your games. Dynamic Lighting and Vision Foundry's lighting engine is best-in-class. It supports per-token vision, "fog of war" that persists between sessions, and complex light sources (like flickering torches or pulsing magical orbs) that interact realistically with walls and doors in real-time. Extensive Module Library The community has created over 2,000 free modules that add everything from "3D Dice" and "Animated Weather" to "Automated Combat" that handles math, resistance, and condition tracking automatically when a player rolls an attack. V13 "ApplicationV2" UI The 2025/2026 updates introduced a reimagined user interface. It is faster, more accessible, and allows for much better window management, reducing the "screen clutter" that previously plagued the software during complex sessions. Self-Hosting and Data Privacy Because you host the server, your maps, character sheets, and campaign notes are stored on your own hardware (or your chosen cloud provider). You aren't reliant on a third-party company's servers staying online to access your game. Massive System Support While it is famous for its "premium" level support for Pathfinder 2e and D&D 5e, Foundry supports over 200 different RPG systems, many of which feature official, high-quality modules from publishers like Free League and Paizo. Deep Sky Ballad

Deep Sky Ballad

English
Sci-fi
Indie
Inspired by legendary settings such as Firefly, Westworld, Borderlands, Trigun or Cowboy Bebop, Deep Sky Ballad is a space western ttrpg where the characters play the members of a Posse - fortune seekers more or less tightly bound to each other who share their resources and a spaceship in search of purpose or wealth. Description The game mechanics are based on the Blackjack System, a poker cards based system; it's the same rules system Arcana Familia ttrpg use, and give agency to the player to balance the power and accuracy of an action through what can be considered a subgame. /images/general-media/1776361953_pusoqZrn.jpg The peculiar solving mechanics of Deep Sky Ballad, the Blackjack System is essentially reduced to a very rapid game of the homonymous card game; a number of cards are drawn and revealed from a deck of poker cards, which are then increased or discarded based on the attributes and skills of the character, in order to bring the sum of their value between a number established by the difficulty of the challenge and 21. This system has been designed to be quick and simple but still guarantee the player maximum control over the test itself, and to distinguish between the possibility and the control possessed by the character. In addition to the Blackjack System, there are an innovative spaceships combat system and the Hardboiled System. The first is a simple, agile and fast mechanic involving all the players; the Hardboiled System, instead, is a system of abilities possessed by the character determined by the interaction that he possesses with his fellow Posse, in order to create dramatic and cinematic scenes such as those presented by the TV series from which Deep Sky Ballad is inspired. Even the starship itself owned by the Posse can be defined as a separate character, even if driven by all players. With its own sheet that defines its characteristics, it can be modified according to the needs of the group in every aspect. And space battles will prove to be a pleasant way to break the pace of the game, through a combat system between spaceships that is quick and easy, but which allows each character to contribute to its progress, regardless of his job or her abilities. /images/general-media/1776361986_AKZC0xAQ.jpgDeep Sky Ballad Additional links drivethrurpg.com - Quickstarter drivethrurpg.com - Core Book drivethrurpg.com - Solo-play/Masterless expansion gamefound.com - Space Farmer Expansion
