Update log - July 2026 “Time to schedule”

Hope you are all having a nice summer. While we haven't been bombarding the site with massive updates these past few months, we have been working on things in the background. Just to keep you all somewhat updated and ensured, that we are still actively working on the platform - here is a brief update and check-in. Minor improvements Every now and then we have pushed new and small updates to the platform. Just today, we finally got around to implementing the time & day scheduling to the game posts. So if you have a game post running, be sure to edit it and add the days you are planning on running the game, and at what time the session would be starting. Players looking for games will be also able to filter the groups based on those parameters. Do keep in mind that since the feature is new, almost all of the games listed at the moment are still without a preferred day and time - so they will not be shown to you when you use the filter. But as time goes on and games update their listing, more and more will have those elements. Additionally a few updates were added to the game post creation process - nothing gamebreaking or -changing. Just some convenience factors. .gg We have officially shifted to a new primary web address (although you are free to keep using whichever domain ending you have before - nothing should be negatively affected. But Groupfinder can now be also accessed via groupfinder.gg Even though the platform is global - having the .eu ending seemed to cause more confusion than we had anticipated. But this is more of a cosmetic change - nothing in our core values or goals has changed as a part of this shift. Library evergrowing The library is rapidly growing - every week new entries are added. Some thanks to the help of a few volunteers, to whom we are extremely grateful. It is becoming a proper tabletop gaming resource now. But it will never be complete - we are seeing new tabletop projects and creators pop up all the time - and we would love to be a gateway between them and you. Group Manager This is the biggest element we have been working on since the start of the year (and even before). While not ready to go live - we are anticipating that the day is drawing ever closer by every week and testing cycle. Group manager will be a parallel mode to Groupfinder - a system to manage your.. well.. group. Keep track of timefinder polls to schedule the next session. Share files with your players - or make them private, so that only you can see them - or only some of the players. This will make it easier to keep track of various notes, lore and character backstories. Or just share gifs.. Also a viable approach. But until we have anything more substantial to report - I will be signing off for now. But will keep a watchful and helpful eye on the platform. And if you have a friend or a group that could benefit from using Groupfinder - be sure to tell them about the site - it will be a win-win situation. The more people know about Groupfinder, the faster your games get filled - and the faster you find a group to join. Till next time.

Ash
Hey! I'm Ash, a nonbinary adult from California who's a big fan of things like Percy Jackson, Warhammer 40K, Star Wars/Star Trek, Hazbin Hotel, Murder Drones (and other GLITCH shows), and Wings of Fire. I like to play more casual, laid-back games - as in, not insanely serious, where a more silly character doesn't stand out too much. For example, a Southern tiefling bard whose favorite instrument is the fiddle, or a combo warlock-cleric, or even a warforged cleric of the forge. That being said, I am perfectly willing and able to create more serious characters if the setting leans that way. What I'm trying to say is, I'm pretty flexible in my character-making. I tend to play characters with well-thought-out backstories, and usually add in a quirk or two that sets them apart - along with a bit of myself, of course. I enjoy good roleplay, although I may have trouble with it myself, and I love a good combat. A lot of my past characters have been more combat-oriented, but even so, I still try to create interesting backstories and social interactions with them. I've been playing D&D for at least four or five years now, since before 5.5e, and I'm much more familiar with 5e than 5.5e. Also, I thoroughly enjoy helping to teach or actually teaching new people how to play. I'm almost always available to play on weekends between 10AM PST and 5PM PST, and would much prefer online games over in-person for this kind of thing.

Greetings from the Midwest! I'm a veteran gamer with 40 years in the hobby, 34 of those behind the GM's screen off and on. I'm looking for players for anything besides D&D 5e. In the past I've run games in a variety of genres and systems including: D6 Star Wars, Call of Cthulhu (various editions), King Arthur Pendragon (4th edition), Star Trek TNG (Last Unicorn Games edition), Traveller (Mongoose 1e), Beyond the Wall, Dragonbane, The One Ring, and others. Currently, I'm looking to run Mongoose Traveller 2e (game announcement forthcoming). My gaming style is story over rules with roleplaying and combat fairly balanced (50/50), depending on the group's responses and tendencies. I am willing to game with teens (13-18), but only with a gaming family member at the table (virtual or real) for accountability all around. I will discuss lines, veils, and triggers with players before gameplay, preserving player privacy when and where necessary. I am very picky with storytelling and the type of game I run, and I do care about everybody - my players and myself - having a good time. So if you're looking to take a step into a wider universe, or even just beyond the dungeon, shoot me a message. You can read more about my gaming style and expectations here.

Zephir1991
Hi, I’m Zephir1991. I’ve been enjoying tabletop roleplaying games for around 16 years, with Dungeons & Dragons being my main passion. I both play and host games online, mainly through Discord, with a small group of players that meet weekly. Right now I’m running several campaigns including: • Chains of Asmodeus (On pause) • Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep (Saturdays) • Out of the Abyss (Mondays) • Icewind Dale (Wednesdays) My usall play time is 8pm (CET norwegian time) and usally play for up to 3 hours. I’m also currently a player in a homebrew story off call of chuthulu.(Fridays) And a homebrewed game called danger at gravehill as a player (Sundays) I’m always happy to chat with fellow players, meet new people, or welcome listeners who simply want to sit in and experience a session. My Discord is open to both new and experienced players. I’m also interested in meeting people locally for in-person games, either to host or join a table, so if you're nearby and enjoy tabletop games, feel free to reach out. If you're interested, send me a message and I’ll share my Discord link.

Whatever the opposite of a railroaded adventure is, this open-world campaign is that. The rules are simple. The world is complicated. What happens to it is up to the players. You will hear rumors, discover locations, meet competing factions, and encounter problems, but the game will not tell you which direction you must take. Some things the players have chosen to do so far: Join the local mercenaries to learn the ways of the sword as a mage - Retrieve an old lady's purse - Become war chieftain of an orc village - Decapitate a wight with a cursed sword Also some new races that are crafted to play and feel very different: - Pixie - fly, perfect hiding, cast phantasmal forces at will, insults cause physical damage to you - Orc - infra-vision, can recruit monsters more easily Races and classes are kind of blended together. Multiple characters are encouraged. Each choice allows you to do something that appears to let you break the game, while saddling you with something else that seems debilitating. This is by design, and players have come up with a few ways of getting around and abusing these things to the betterment of the story and lore. - Fighting-Man - Doesn't have to actually be a guy, but is a human. Can use all weapons and armor. - Magic-User - Has one spell, one "shot". Can meet with magic learned peers to exchange knowledge. The most notorious spell in the game right now is Charm Person because it doesn't wear off like in later editions. - Cleric - The best of the two above, but must be Good, and by the Law. - Elf - Essentially a Magic-Use/Fighting-Man with extra perks and ties with elves and the ability to sense magic, enhanced senses, etc. but capped at a certain point - Hobbit - Capped early, but can hide flawlessly in urban areas and snipe REAL good with slings. No magic. - Dwarf -  Capped early, but high resistance, good with all axes and hammers, can sense what stone touches and its shape, and ties with and extensive knowledge of dwarven culture and holds. There are major events going on in the background but instead of shoving players in the middle of them, I showcase the developments of those events that come about, for good or ill. The players decide what to investigate, whom to trust, which dangers are worth confronting, and what their characters want to accomplish. How many hirelings do you need to bring with you? How much can you do successfully alone to maximize profit? Play alone, 1-on-1 with DM and player, or up to 10 others at once. The world continues to develop around the party. Factions pursue their own plans, NPCs remember your actions, enemies adapt, settlements can change, and neglected situations may grow better or worse. Player choices can permanently reshape the campaign world. Let me know if you are interested!

Tools & Platforms

Inkroll

Inkroll is a web platform for playing tabletop RPGs play-by-post: asynchronously, in written posts, on each player's own schedule, with a human gamemaster running the table. It sits between heavyweight real-time VTTs and plain forum software; the writing stays the point, but the platform actually understands characters, dice, secrets, and the GM's role instead of leaving them on the side. It is also, deliberately, a beautiful place to spend a campaign. Inkroll was built by play-by-post players who wanted the game to read as well as it plays: a calm, candlelit page of ink and parchment where posts get the space of a book, quoted speech and images are cleanly styled, and every table can choose the look and post layout that suit its story. The tools stay out of the way until the moment a hand reaches for them, so a session feels like reading and writing a novel with friends, not operating software. Dice are typed straight into a post, like {Perception:1d20+2}, rolled once on the server the moment the post is published, then frozen, with a per-post audit the whole table can see, so a result can never be edited or quietly re-rolled. Players post as their characters, with portraits, versioned character sheets, and quick stat updates (hit points, spell slots, conditions) committed together with the post. GMs get sealed passages delivered to exactly the players they choose, chapters, scene notes with a world map and a per-chapter battle map, and live updates with typing indicators and read markers, so an asynchronous table still feels alive. Long campaigns are first-class citizens: the Chronicle keeps a running recap of every chapter and every character met, and answers questions from the campaign's own posts, so a returning player or a newcomer catches up in minutes. And because a campaign written like a book deserves to become one, a finished game can be exported as a designed, print-ready PDF or EPUB. Games already in progress can be imported from Myth-Weavers or Discord with posts, characters, images, and dice results intact. Ready-made sheets cover D&D Fifth Edition, Pathfinder 2e, Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, and Grimwild, plus a system-agnostic option and a builder for custom rulesets with their own dice mechanics. New systems are also gladly added upon request. A reading-first page with a crafted ink-and-parchment look, and per-campaign styles and layouts Server-rolled, tamper-proof dice with a table-visible audit Post-as-character with versioned sheets and inline stat updates Secret passages sent to exactly the chosen players World map, battle map, and scene notes beside the composer The Chronicle: a running recap plus Q&A over the campaign's own posts One-click import from Myth-Weavers and Discord Book export to print-ready PDF and EPUB, full campaign export as json so no lock-in Links inkroll.gg - Official website discord.gg - Discord server reddit.com - r/inkroll subreddit
