Update log - July 2026 “Time to schedule”

Hope you are all having a nice summer. While we haven't been bombarding the site with massive updates these past few months, we have been working on things in the background. Just to keep you all somewhat updated and ensured, that we are still actively working on the platform - here is a brief update and check-in. Minor improvements Every now and then we have pushed new and small updates to the platform. Just today, we finally got around to implementing the time & day scheduling to the game posts. So if you have a game post running, be sure to edit it and add the days you are planning on running the game, and at what time the session would be starting. Players looking for games will be also able to filter the groups based on those parameters. Do keep in mind that since the feature is new, almost all of the games listed at the moment are still without a preferred day and time - so they will not be shown to you when you use the filter. But as time goes on and games update their listing, more and more will have those elements. Additionally a few updates were added to the game post creation process - nothing gamebreaking or -changing. Just some convenience factors. .gg We have officially shifted to a new primary web address (although you are free to keep using whichever domain ending you have before - nothing should be negatively affected. But Groupfinder can now be also accessed via groupfinder.gg Even though the platform is global - having the .eu ending seemed to cause more confusion than we had anticipated. But this is more of a cosmetic change - nothing in our core values or goals has changed as a part of this shift. Library evergrowing The library is rapidly growing - every week new entries are added. Some thanks to the help of a few volunteers, to whom we are extremely grateful. It is becoming a proper tabletop gaming resource now. But it will never be complete - we are seeing new tabletop projects and creators pop up all the time - and we would love to be a gateway between them and you. Group Manager This is the biggest element we have been working on since the start of the year (and even before). While not ready to go live - we are anticipating that the day is drawing ever closer by every week and testing cycle. Group manager will be a parallel mode to Groupfinder - a system to manage your.. well.. group. Keep track of timefinder polls to schedule the next session. Share files with your players - or make them private, so that only you can see them - or only some of the players. This will make it easier to keep track of various notes, lore and character backstories. Or just share gifs.. Also a viable approach. But until we have anything more substantial to report - I will be signing off for now. But will keep a watchful and helpful eye on the platform. And if you have a friend or a group that could benefit from using Groupfinder - be sure to tell them about the site - it will be a win-win situation. The more people know about Groupfinder, the faster your games get filled - and the faster you find a group to join. Till next time.

The era of mortals is coming to a close. Time, once a flowing and vast fact of life, is being eaten away by a divine stasis known as The Fog. More than half of the planet and its people have been swallowed by it now, leaving a sparse few beacons of light in the ever growing darkness. Our story begins in the 11th month of the year 3046PS, roughly 60 years after the first sightings of The Fog, as one of the final refugee ships from the west dock in the port city of Punto de Partida. Snow falls upon our fated party as they’re engulfed by the anxious city and its people, having only themselves to fend for against a world nearly frozen. You, dear survivor, live while the timer of the end ticks down. What will you do in the final years of mortals? Will you spend them ignoring the inevitable and indulging in what little comforts are left, or will despair halt you even before stasis arrives? Or maybe you have hope of a miracle, be it from the gods or crafted by your own hands. Just how much, I wonder, would you be willing to lose to save the world? [This campaign is set to be a long-term, slowburn story focused on character development and roleplay. Much of its world, people and cultures are open for players to imagine and make their own, making it perfect for players who love world building and crafting intricate backstories. The story will cover many of the expected topics for a pre/mid apocalyptic setting, as well as heavy themes such as classism, genocide, xenophobia and racisim/speciesism. Other sensitive topics may be covered barring any content that players can choose to veto; my goal as a DM is to make an immersive and realistic world while showing utmost respect to my players while doing so. This campaign will be offline only and is planned to be held at a game store in los angeles, and I’m looking to hold it Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights with times between 4pm-9pm.]

Ash
Hey! I'm Ash, a nonbinary adult from California who's a big fan of things like Percy Jackson, Warhammer 40K, Star Wars/Star Trek, Hazbin Hotel, Murder Drones (and other GLITCH shows), and Wings of Fire. I like to play more casual, laid-back games - as in, not insanely serious, where a more silly character doesn't stand out too much. For example, a Southern tiefling bard whose favorite instrument is the fiddle, or a combo warlock-cleric, or even a warforged cleric of the forge. That being said, I am perfectly willing and able to create more serious characters if the setting leans that way. What I'm trying to say is, I'm pretty flexible in my character-making. I tend to play characters with well-thought-out backstories, and usually add in a quirk or two that sets them apart - along with a bit of myself, of course. I enjoy good roleplay, although I may have trouble with it myself, and I love a good combat. A lot of my past characters have been more combat-oriented, but even so, I still try to create interesting backstories and social interactions with them. I've been playing D&D for at least four or five years now, since before 5.5e, and I'm much more familiar with 5e than 5.5e. Also, I thoroughly enjoy helping to teach or actually teaching new people how to play. I'm almost always available to play on weekends between 10AM PST and 5PM PST, and would much prefer online games over in-person for this kind of thing.

Greetings from the Midwest! I'm a veteran gamer with 40 years in the hobby, 34 of those behind the GM's screen off and on. I'm looking for players for anything besides D&D 5e. In the past I've run games in a variety of genres and systems including: D6 Star Wars, Call of Cthulhu (various editions), King Arthur Pendragon (4th edition), Star Trek TNG (Last Unicorn Games edition), Traveller (Mongoose 1e), Beyond the Wall, Dragonbane, The One Ring, and others. Currently, I'm looking to run Mongoose Traveller 2e (game announcement forthcoming). My gaming style is story over rules with roleplaying and combat fairly balanced (50/50), depending on the group's responses and tendencies. I am willing to game with teens (13-18), but only with a gaming family member at the table (virtual or real) for accountability all around. I will discuss lines, veils, and triggers with players before gameplay, preserving player privacy when and where necessary. I am very picky with storytelling and the type of game I run, and I do care about everybody - my players and myself - having a good time. So if you're looking to take a step into a wider universe, or even just beyond the dungeon, shoot me a message. You can read more about my gaming style and expectations here.

Zephir1991
Hi, I’m Zephir1991. I’ve been enjoying tabletop roleplaying games for around 16 years, with Dungeons & Dragons being my main passion. I both play and host games online, mainly through Discord, with a small group of players that meet weekly. Right now I’m running several campaigns including: • Chains of Asmodeus (On pause) • Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep (Saturdays) • Out of the Abyss (Mondays) • Icewind Dale (Wednesdays) My usall play time is 8pm (CET norwegian time) and usally play for up to 3 hours. I’m also currently a player in a homebrew story off call of chuthulu.(Fridays) And a homebrewed game called danger at gravehill as a player (Sundays) I’m always happy to chat with fellow players, meet new people, or welcome listeners who simply want to sit in and experience a session. My Discord is open to both new and experienced players. I’m also interested in meeting people locally for in-person games, either to host or join a table, so if you're nearby and enjoy tabletop games, feel free to reach out. If you're interested, send me a message and I’ll share my Discord link.

Dragonbane

High-Fantasy
English
Swedish
Dragonbane is a classic fantasy tabletop roleplaying game published by Free League Publishing in 2023. It is a modern English translation and reimagining of Drakar och Demoner, Scandinavia's first and longest-running TTRPG, originally released in 1982. The game carries over four decades of Swedish gaming heritage into a sleek, accessible package designed around the philosophy of "mirth and mayhem": fast-paced adventures with minimal prep, where danger is real, luck matters, and even a humble merchant can become a legend. Unlike many modern fantasy RPGs, Dragonbane deliberately avoids the power-escalation treadmill of level-based systems. Characters are capable but mortal from session one, and the game works equally well for a single one-shot evening or a sprawling long-term campaign. It was a strong contender for TTRPG of the year on release, praised widely as one of the most accessible entry points into tabletop fantasy roleplaying. Description In Dragonbane, players take on the role of adventurers in the Misty Vale, a hidden mountain valley, ancient and full of ruins from fallen kingdoms, only recently cleared of orc and goblin occupation. The world is shaped by the eternal cosmic struggle between two great powers: the Dragons and the Demons, rival godlike forces whose conflict bleeds into mortal life. Players choose from six playable Kins: Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Halflings, the duck-like Mallards, and the feral Wolfkin and one of ten Professions (Fighter, Mage, Hunter, Thief, Artisan, Merchant, Mariner, Scholar, and others), each providing a distinct set of skills and heroic abilities. One player takes the role of the Game Master (GM), who builds the world, voices NPCs, and runs the dangers the adventurers face. The tone balances genuine peril and dark fantasy with moments of levity and absurdity. System Overview & Key Features Roll-Under D20 Skill System Dragonbane uses a clean roll-under mechanic. Every skill has a rating from 1 to 18, and to succeed, the player must roll equal to or below that number on a D20. There is no adding up bonuses or consulting modifiers, a skill of 14 means you need a 14 or lower. This keeps the math fast and intuitive while still creating meaningful differences between a trained and an untrained character. Rolling a Dragon & Rolling a Demon Natural 1s and 20s are not just successes and failures, they're narrative events. Rolling a 1 is "Rolling a Dragon": a critical success that triggers powerful, flavourful special effects. Rolling a 20 is "Rolling a Demon": a critical failure with immediate consequences. This naming convention ties the dice directly into the world's mythology and gives every roll dramatic weight. Push Your Luck If a skill roll fails, the player can choose to Push it, picking up the dice and rolling again. But every die that fails a second time inflicts a Condition. Characters can become Exhausted, Sickly, Dazed, Angry, Scared, or Disheartened, each imposing a specific mechanical penalty. Pushing is rarely free, and the decision of whether to push adds meaningful tension to every uncertain roll.. Willpower Points & Heroic Abilities Each character has a pool of Willpower Points (WP), a resource spent to activate their Profession's Heroic Abilities. A Fighter might spend WP to make a devastating counterattack; a Mage burns it to cast spells. Willpower represents the spark of exceptionalism that separates adventurers from ordinary folk, and managing it carefully is central to play. Card-Based Initiative Combat initiative is determined by drawing from a shuffled deck of initiative tokens. One per character and one per monster group. This creates a genuinely unpredictable turn order every round, keeping both players and GM on their toes and preventing the predictability of fixed initiative lists. Kin & Profession, Not Class & Level Character creation is fast: pick a Kin, pick a Profession, assign starting skills. After play begins, advancement is open: characters grow by spending experience on skills of their choice, unconstrained by class restrictions. This avoids the feeling of "wrong builds" and keeps development tied to what the characters actually do in play. Vampire The Masquerade 5E (2018)

TTRPG
English
Horror
Vampire: The Masquerade (5th Edition) is published by Renegade Games Studios and was released in 2018. It is a TTRPG-scene classic for vampire-themed games. Set in an alternative, but modern, world, called "World of Darkness". The players will step into the shoes of recently turned vampires, now thrust into the dark underworld of the vampire society. It is a storytelling game focusing on personal and political horror. Description The players, now part of "The Masquerade" have to keep their new identity a secret from the human population, while at the same time engaging with various vampire clans and factions. Managing the new reality, both in terms of new societal norms and requirements, and their vampiric hunger, will set the players on a different "adventure" altogether. System Overview & Key Features Storyteller System (d10 Dice Pool) The system utilizes the Storyteller engine, which uses pools of ten-sided dice (d10). To resolve actions, the player adds the character's Attribute and Skill scores together to determine the total number of dice rolled. Any die showing a 6 or higher counts as a success. Rolling multiple 10s yields a critical success. Disciplines Player characters have access to supernatural abilities known as Disciplines. These include categorized powers such as enhanced physical speed, cognitive manipulation, and physical mutation. Activating these abilities frequently requires a "Rouse Check," a dice roll that carries a probability of increasing the character's Hunger level. Touchstones and Humanity Characters possess a Humanity rating that measures their ethical degradation. To maintain this rating, characters link themselves to "Touchstones," which are specific human non-player characters representing the vampire's surviving mortal values. If a Touchstone is damaged or killed, the player character risks a permanent reduction to their Humanity score. Blood Potency A statistic called Blood Potency dictates the strength of a vampire's abilities. Higher Blood Potency provides numerical advantages to Discipline rolls and healing rates. However, it also imposes dietary restrictions; characters with high Blood Potency cannot reduce their Hunger by consuming animal blood or preserved human blood, requiring them to feed directly from live humans. Beyond Tabletop

Virtual tabletop (VTT)
English
Free
Beyond Tabletop is a streamlined, web based suite of tools designed to enhance both online and in person roleplaying sessions. Developed as a lightweight alternative to bulky virtual tabletops, it focuses on speed, simplicity, and real time synchronization using Google Firebase technology. It is built for players who want digital character sheets and tactical maps without the steep learning curve or high system requirements of more complex platforms. Description Beyond Tabletop is designed to remove the "baggage" often associated with digital gaming tools. It offers a clean, mobile friendly interface that works on any device with a web browser. The platform provides dedicated support for Dungeons & Dragons 5e and Pathfinder, featuring automated character sheets and a highly intuitive mapping system. Rather than replacing the tabletop experience, it seeks to modernize the traditional pen and paper feel through real time collaboration and easy link sharing. System Overview & Key Features Real-time Firebase integration Every change made to a character sheet or a map is updated instantly for all connected players. There is no need to refresh the page or manually save progress, making it one of the most responsive browser based tools for tracking combat and health. Streamlined Character Sheets The platform includes built in libraries for core classes, feats, spells, and conditions for 5e and Pathfinder. These sheets are designed to handle the tedious math of leveling up while remaining flexible enough for homebrew customizations and unique character builds. Simple Tactical Mapping The map tool focuses on core utility over flashy graphics. GMs can quickly upload background images, place tokens, and draw shapes to define the battlefield. It includes a built in initiative tracker and status effect markers that are visible to the entire party. Device Agnostic Design Because it is a lightweight web application, Beyond Tabletop runs smoothly on smartphones, tablets, and laptops. This makes it a perfect companion for in person games where players want to manage their sheets digitally without taking up massive space at the physical table. Easy Link Sharing Sharing a campaign or a specific map is as simple as sending a URL. There are no complicated server permissions or software invites required, allowing new players to join a session and see the game state in seconds. Donation Based The full suite of tools is available for free. The developers maintain the servers through the generosity of the community, ensuring that there are no paywalls or subscription tiers blocking access to essential gameplay features.
