Update log - July 2026 “Time to schedule”

Hope you are all having a nice summer. While we haven't been bombarding the site with massive updates these past few months, we have been working on things in the background. Just to keep you all somewhat updated and ensured, that we are still actively working on the platform - here is a brief update and check-in. Minor improvements Every now and then we have pushed new and small updates to the platform. Just today, we finally got around to implementing the time & day scheduling to the game posts. So if you have a game post running, be sure to edit it and add the days you are planning on running the game, and at what time the session would be starting. Players looking for games will be also able to filter the groups based on those parameters. Do keep in mind that since the feature is new, almost all of the games listed at the moment are still without a preferred day and time - so they will not be shown to you when you use the filter. But as time goes on and games update their listing, more and more will have those elements. Additionally a few updates were added to the game post creation process - nothing gamebreaking or -changing. Just some convenience factors. .gg We have officially shifted to a new primary web address (although you are free to keep using whichever domain ending you have before - nothing should be negatively affected. But Groupfinder can now be also accessed via groupfinder.gg Even though the platform is global - having the .eu ending seemed to cause more confusion than we had anticipated. But this is more of a cosmetic change - nothing in our core values or goals has changed as a part of this shift. Library evergrowing The library is rapidly growing - every week new entries are added. Some thanks to the help of a few volunteers, to whom we are extremely grateful. It is becoming a proper tabletop gaming resource now. But it will never be complete - we are seeing new tabletop projects and creators pop up all the time - and we would love to be a gateway between them and you. Group Manager This is the biggest element we have been working on since the start of the year (and even before). While not ready to go live - we are anticipating that the day is drawing ever closer by every week and testing cycle. Group manager will be a parallel mode to Groupfinder - a system to manage your.. well.. group. Keep track of timefinder polls to schedule the next session. Share files with your players - or make them private, so that only you can see them - or only some of the players. This will make it easier to keep track of various notes, lore and character backstories. Or just share gifs.. Also a viable approach. But until we have anything more substantial to report - I will be signing off for now. But will keep a watchful and helpful eye on the platform. And if you have a friend or a group that could benefit from using Groupfinder - be sure to tell them about the site - it will be a win-win situation. The more people know about Groupfinder, the faster your games get filled - and the faster you find a group to join. Till next time.

🎓 Who Are You? You are a student at the **Nocturne Conservatory**, a hidden college for young witches beneath the town of Duskfall. Most students are between **18 and 22 years old**, balancing two very different lives. By day, you attend classes, work part-time jobs, hang out with friends, and try to survive college. By night, you study advanced magic, dangerous rituals, and centuries-old traditions. Whether you were born into the magical community or discovered it later, you're still trying to figure out who you want to become. --- # 🏫 Your Two Worlds ## ☀️ Life Above Ground Outside the Conservatory, Duskfall functions like any other small coastal college town. You might spend your days: - Attending university lectures - Working a part-time job - Meeting friends at cafés - Going to concerts - Pulling all-nighters before exams - Exploring the town - Joining clubs or organizations Most people believe Duskfall is completely ordinary. They're wrong. --- ## 🌙 The Nocturne Conservatory Hidden beneath abandoned salt mines lies one of the oldest magical colleges in existence. Here you'll study subjects like: - Ritual Magic - Arcane Theory - Demonology - Magical History - Wards & Protection - Potion Brewing - Cursecraft - Spirit Studies -Evocation -Divination Your professors expect excellence. Failure can have consequences beyond a failing grade. --- # 🎭 What Is This Campaign About? This is a character-driven supernatural mystery focused on: 🔮 Magic 🕵️ Investigations 🎓 College Life 🤝 Friendships & Rivalries 📖 Hidden History 🩸 Difficult Choices While combat certainly happens, your greatest tools are curiosity, teamwork, and creative problem solving. --- # 🧙 Creating Your Character Think about the person behind the magic. ### What are you studying? Examples include: - Magical Law - Ritual Studies - Alchemy - Spirit Research - Enchantments - Magical Medicine - Ancient Languages --- What's your life like outside class? Do you... - Work at a bookstore? - Play in a local band? - Run the campus radio station? - Captain an intramural team? - Volunteer in town? - Spend every night buried in the library? --- How do you feel about magic? Maybe it's... - Your calling. - Your family tradition. - Just another subject to pass. - A burden. - An obsession. - Something you're still learning to trust. --- Why did you come to the Conservatory? Everyone has their own reason. Maybe you wanted: - Knowledge. - Freedom. - Answers. - Prestige. - Adventure. - A fresh start. --- 💬 Roleplaying Tips Your character is an adult, but adulthood doesn't mean having everything figured out. Lean into uncertainty. Make mistakes. Build friendships. Question authority. Support your classmates. Sometimes the biggest victories happen outside of combat. --- 📖 What Your Character Knows Every student knows: ✅ Magic exists. ✅ The Nocturne Conservatory is one of the oldest magical colleges in the world. ✅ Duskfall has a hidden magical community. ✅ Magical traditions are deeply important. ✅ Strange things occasionally happen around town. Your character does **not** automatically know: ❌ Every magical secret. ❌ Every hidden faction. ❌ The truth behind Duskfall's history. ❌ Why certain traditions exist. Those answers will be discovered throughout the campaign. --- 🌒 Welcome to Duskfall Study hard. Trust carefully. Question everything. Because in Duskfall... **Some secrets have been waiting centuries for someone to uncover them.** Like to application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf784PDqgFyQQcG_tInei2V3mVF9q-hKDGLUMwY23YeFNjbSA/viewform?usp=header

Howdy hi!! Shut-in world builder wizard here, just looking for cool people to bring to me and friends' online table for a bespoke variation of 3.5e D&D that focuses less on min-maxing/power-scaling and more on curiosity of the player, experimentation and a whole new toy box of fresh mechanics to dive into! Some of those mechanics share DNA with 5-5.5e concepts and might be familiar to players coming in from the most recent editions, and others have been forged from the mad scientist lab sessions of me and mine over several campaigns! We've got weird new races--psychic plant people, immortal deer fey, juggernaught dwarf-orc hybrids, sentient amnesiac undead, need I go on?! We've got intriguing reworks on old classics-- broad new specialization AND generalization options for casters, exciting new martial feats for bruisers of all types, and much needed re-balances for the discrepancies between Druid and Ranger! We've got an in-house, homemade character sheet template made in Microsoft Excel that tracks your bonuses, debuffs, gear weight, weapon rolls and all your stats in real time! We've got an entirely homebrewed, simple to understand, elemental damage counter system with a table of effects that completely turns the nature of how players and enemies utilize different damage types on its head! All this, and a chill, low-stress, inclusive table of nerds too! Sound good? Then give the profile a poke, and come see if your new favorite homebrewed TTRPG system will be ours! =)

Fight or sneak your way through the ancient and mysteriously abandoned Elvish city of Zel-Bazar! Starting at Level 6 and going to Level 14, this campaign in a light homebrew setting lets you explore a dangerous city in the desert to uncover forgotten arcane secrets, collect priceless religious relics, and kill powerful monsters to collect their precious innards, all so you can get fame and fortune. Inspired by Dungeons of Drakkenheim, this is a survival game where death is around every corner and your choices matter. You can work for yourselves and sow chaos, ally with a faction and help them achieve their goals, or even try your hand at overthrowing a faction for your own gains. The desert is yours to explore and exploit! Read below for a short introduction, and below that for the table details 👍🏻 --- The skies over the desert continent of Sahidh used to be glitter with starlight at all hours. In the ancient past a breed of Cosmic Beetles, those alien beings which eat stardust and create magic, would drift into an oasis in the middle of the desert to mate and multiply. Elves from the Glimmerwood eventually found the desert and the oasis and founded a city. After a few generations, those Elves adapted and became "sun-kissed". The city's name in Ancient Elvish is "Ulenra odh Taminn", or "Jewel of the Desert". After the Sun-Kissed Elves branched their culture, it was renamed to Zel-Barar, or "Jewel City." During the War of Crumbling Skies, the ulitmate battle between Gods and mortal mages when the Great Sky Cities were falling, the ancient desert capital acted as a crucial ally for mortal mages. But 60 years before the final defeat for the mages, the city went dark. The population of over 1 million Sun-Kissed Elves vanished without a clue as to why. When the mortal survivors of the war went to investigate what happened, they found the city infested with the Cosmic Beetles, now twisted and mutated by some kind of uncurable curse. The Cursed Beetles quickly became a scourge that would take the lives of many people, and still do to this day. It's been 40 years since the city was rediscovered, and a number of groups and organizations seek the hidden power and forgotten secrets still trapped within. Thieves, soldiers, holy people, fame-seekers, and anyone else daring enough to enter the walls of the city have congregated in the still-standing cities on the continents coasts or in one of the new settlements that the city's mystery has spawned. There has been a steady balance of power between the factions for decades now, but the appearance of a new Cult and rumors of a "major discovery" have people on edge. --- Games will be played on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays at 10 AM CST (Texas, USA) and will go for 4 hours. It's a paid table with standard rates being no higher than $20 and I am open to making deals depending on your needs. I never want to price someone out of play. If you're interested, you can reach out to me on here or on Discord: cheeks4901.

New to Daggerheart? Me too! Come play through the official Age of Umbra Campaign Frame and we can learn together 😁 Pitch from the Core: A century has passed since the God-King Othedias betrayed the Pantheon, provoking divine punishment and abandonment by the gods that left the realm of the Halcyon Domain shattered, desolate, and eternally cursed. Throughout this shadow-choked land of decaying fortresses and dreadful monstrosities, surviving communities cling to hope in the face of lightless oblivion. In an Age of Umbra campaign, you’ll play heroic survivors who protect their community from the terrors beyond their walls, venture out into the unknown to hunt the nightmares that twist and grow with each fallen soul, seek answers to the curses that corrupt this world, and perhaps even discover a way to change its fate. Games will take place on Fridays at 9 AM CST (Texas, USA) and will run for 2 hours. There will be a Session Zero once the table is put together to build characters, that session may go over two hours. If you're interested, you can reach out to me here or on Discord: cheeks4901 IMPORTANT: I normally run paid games, THIS IS NOT A PAID GAME. Dungeons & Dragons 5e (2014)

TTRPG
Beginner-friendly
High-Fantasy
Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition (D&D 5E) burst onto the scene in 2014, taking a game that’d been around since the ‘70s and giving it new life. After a huge public playtest called "D&D Next," the creators wanted to smooth over old division and give everyone — whether you’re an old-school fan or totally new — a game that feels both classic and modern. D&D quickly stopped being just a niche hobby and it started becoming more popular, showing up everywhere: streams, podcasts, and mainstream pop culture (Community, Stranger Things, D&D movie). In 2024 the game system was given a major overhaul, providing smaller changes and fixes to various parts of the game. This is now known as Dungeons & Dragons 5.5 Edition (2024) Description In D&D 5E, the players create fantasy adventurers. From elven rogues to dragonborn paladins, while one player takes up the role of the Dungeon Master (DM). The DM is the one who builds and describes the world, acts and voices the non-player characters and controls the monsters and the world around them, acting as both the lead storyteller and generally the rules referee. The heart of 5E is “rulings over rules.” Instead of pages of complicated charts, the DM is encouraged to make quick calls and keep things moving, not letting rules stop the game in it's tracks. The game is built on the "Three Pillars": Combat, Exploration, and Social Interaction.  System Overview & Key Features The Core d20 Mechanic The resolution system is unified and straightforward. To attempt almost most action where the outcome is not clearly obvious and there is a chance for failure, the player rolls a 20-sided die (d20), and adds the relevant modifier (either from their main stat or their skill bonus) and the DM's set Difficulty Check (DC) determines whether the attempt was a success or a failure. Advantage and Disadvantage This is 5E’s defining innovation. Instead of making players calculate a dozen tiny modifiers (+2 for high ground, -1 for rain, +1 for a spell etc), the system or the DM simply declares whether the character has Advantage or Disadvantage on said roll. The player rolls two d20s and takes the higher result (Advantage) or the lower result (Disadvantage) and adds the necessary modifiers to the result. Bounded Accuracy In older editions, numbers got out of hand fast. With 5E the numbers increase at a reasonable rate. Armor Class (AC) and attack bonuses rise slowly, so even high-level adventurers aren't always guaranteed to overcome a bunch of goblins. Most encounters can still be a challenge, especially if the amount of enemies is high. The Proficiency Bonus A single, scaling number (starting at +2 and ending at +6) represents the character's training and experience. If a character is trained in using a weapon type, a skill (like Stealth), or a saving throw, they simply add their Proficiency Bonus to the d20 roll. Backgrounds Roleplaying your character is starts already at the character creation. Picking a Background (like Acolyte or Criminal) gives you extra skills and story hooks: Personality Traits, Ideals, Bonds, Flaws, all concrete details to play with. Resource Management (Rests) The game manages health and class abilities through a system of "Short Rests" (a quick one-hour break to spend Hit Dice and regain some abilities) and "Long Rests" (a full eight hours of downtime to completely heal and restore all spell slots and abilities). Subclasses While players pick a primary Class (like Wizard) at level 1, they branch off into specialized Subclasses (like the School of Evocation or the School of Illusion) typically between levels 1 and 3, allowing for deep customization while presenting progression through incremental steps as the character grows and levels up Additional links dungeonsanddragons.com - Official Dungeons & Dragons website Basic Rules (2014)  - D&D 5E free rules
